SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.co...
Thank you all so much for your request - you asked, and we listened! This week, Yergy and Drewby take a trip south to Baltimore to review the case of Joe Metheny. Was he operating alone and being protected by people way more powerful than him? Find out. After this, you'll remember the name Joseph Edward Stein Sr (aka Joe Stein Sr, Jack Stein, Reds, etc) We also get to answer the question if he was actually serving up his victims in roast beef sandwiches to his coworkers.

UA-cam needs to stop demonitizing you guys! Your channel is straight up and honest and the victims get true justice by you telling their story.
how do you know it's straight up and honest ???
How do you two beautiful humans not have a bigger following? Feels like I discovered a hidden gem of a channel
Thank you so much!! Growing a UA-cam channel is quite slow nowadays it seems, but the comments definitely help boost us in the algorithm
@@TheMiseryMachine I didn't know the comments helped you guys, I will have to comment more often!
I know, right?! That was so sweet how you phrased it🥺😂
Indeed.
They haven't been around for too long so they are building the channel. They're doing well for starting up!
Okay I’m sorry but a mother saying “if you were neglected, it was your own fault.” SOUNDS like a neglectful parent.
It really does
mao you trust a drug addict serial killer sociopaths word more than a scorned mother whos reputation has been dragged through the mud while she has to deal with her pathological liar serial killer son's shit decade after decade. Get over it Karens. This man lies whenever he has the opportunity to get sympathy and you idiots fall for it.
Neglected child? How many children have been neglected and haven’t cooked people?
Ikr.
As someone whose watched most of the crime YT channels that covered this case- you weren’t kiddin! Not a one makes any mention of the pallet company, mafia, and Joe connection. It really is a huge part of the narrative and answers alot questions in regards to how he operated. Thanks for researching thoroughly! Cheers all the way from Tokyo 💖
Thank you!! I hope Tokyo is doing better than we are in the states right now with the pandemic. Very happy to have you in our comment section ❤️ (PS love that Junko Ohashi and Ryo Fukui are in your playlist)
Because the pallet company wasn’t a pallet company at that time… it’s false information also the organized crime is cap is why you have never heard that
The moment I heard Yergy said she did a line herself and stayed up all night smoking and sewing; I nearly spat out my drink. That was BRAVE. It caught me off guard tbh! XD But no i love how you two cover cases, show respect to the victims, and research HEAVILY on every topic.~ Keep up the amazing work guys~
🤣🤣🤣 as soon as I did two lines I read this...
@@peachiep2734Plz be very careful whom you associate and also because so many things are becoming reportedly contaminated with fentanyl etc.
"If he was neglected it was his own fault" I'm sorry but WHAT? I could believe that maybe he was making things up, but that sounds so suspicious.
I've been binging on your channel for a couple of weeks now and I have to say, this is the best I've come across so far! Thanks for all of the research and effort you put into your channel, I've recommended you to every true crime fan I know.
Tysm!!!
I was a teenager when this happened in my city and his food stand was really popular and he set his stand up at the truck stop near downtown Baltimore... So many people used to buy food from his business..
Holy shit…
Ew food that was made of humans
When this take place cuz I'm 92baby lol frm balto my self
@@philipkasparites3037 you was a baby when this happened... I was born in the 70s and this happened when I was a teenager... He lived in Pig Town in South Baltimore
Eewwww rip to those eating from.that shop
Glad I found your channel, you guy's give the truth, thank you
Thank you, Heidi! ♡
The level of quality you guys produce for us is unreal 👍 no one gives their viewership such researched details. Btw I loved hearing about the all night sewing and cartoons 😆 heck yes to sewing and proving things aren't always what stigmas paint them as.
Those were some very productive sewing sessions, lol. ♡ Yergy
All I can say is, you did a far better job than a certain youtuber who doesn't care about the victims she covers at all. Keep it up!
Thanks!
who you talking about?
I bet it’s Anna
That was my guess but hey she’s “cute” so it ok?
What's wrong with Anna? She seems sweet
Ive seen pics of the guy but never knew the story you guys do an amazing job of telling these stories cant wait till the next one
You guys are my favorite true crime to listen to for many reasons but the main reasons are
1. You provide so much detail, more than I find in many other podcasts
2. Your respect for victims. I think a lot of podcasts don’t give the victims as much respect as they should and I really like that you guys try to put up photos and try to name the victims.
❤️
Seriously thank you so much for taking the time to say this to us. We've gotten quite a few nasty comments today, so you leaving this comment makes it all worthwhile. It's really nice to know we are appreciated, and I hope we keep making episodes that you enjoy. ❤️❤️❤️
And they talk quickly! i cant stand slow talkers personally. I process quickly.
I just discovered this channel and I can't get enough! Thank you so much for your hard work producing these videos. ☺️
Thank you Elisa!!
That's definitely some South Baltimore shit right there.
Love your channel. You guys do great research to each and every case you do making us viewers more aware of the cases. I learn something interesting each week with each case even if I heard it before cause you find something others left out.
Tysm Nicole!!! Yeah, we always check out other channels to see if we're missing info and to shout out other creators, and we were totally shocked that we were the first to dig up the organized crime connection, and how much big (and I'm talking BIG) channels omitted.
I am so glad you ALWAYS get the real stories... even when you think you know it you always break it down fully..❤ Thank you
He definitely had a open beef stand but it wasn't a licensed legal business and he was popular through word of mouth..
I live real close to Essex. Hearing yall speak on local areas where murders were committed...
Makes it less of a story and more of a haunting tale 😂😂😂😂
When you said "Sparrow Point Docks" I was like 'NANI?! "
Did we do okay? I always cringe when I hear stories from our area and it's all wrong. I know we didn't get into the geographics too much but... Do you recall when this was in the news at all? ♡ Yergy
@@TheMiseryMachine Yall did a phenomenal job! I've actually never heard of this story!
I'm sitting here thinking "Maryland is so boring, nothing ever happens here."
Little did I know...
😂😂😂
Also 230lbs isn't bad for being a cannibal. Must be something to the diet
Thank you!! Cannibal diet is going to be the next new fad lolol
I know this is very serious these cases, but i had too share this. I'm dyslexic, when i first read the heading next to his picture, i honest to God thought it said the killer cannonball, next to his rotund belly lol!! My eyes and brain plays REALLY weird tricks on me sometimes talking stuff, so I've got to read it more then once. But i thought it was funny and had to share lol.
That’s hilarious because it’s a much more suitable name
*for the algorithm*
I love y’all’s channel so much. ❤ every case is explained so well
You guys do an amazing job! I have listened and am still binging your old stuff and the things upcoming
Unofficial theme song for this episode: "Hamburger Cheeseburger Big Mac Whopper" by Big Willy Status
Sounds delicious 😋
The algorithm hasn't let me down this time. Subscribed & addicted. Great content.
Thank you so much!!!
Ty so much, I almost skipped this because every other channel missed most of this crucial information on this case. I appreciate the work you put into this so that finally I know the actual facts apon this case.
Great channel...you’re both great. And glad you figured out the editing ;-) Love that you’re from ME as I’m a Portland resident now living in London (U.K.). Will spread the word. Best of luck!
Love having another former Mainer listen! Happy to have you here - Drewby
One of my favorite channels ever. Thank you for doing what you do so well!
Thank you for your kind words, and for checking us out!!! ♡ Yergy
Almost 9K subscribers!!! You're continuing to grow!!!
Ive been watching since I found you guys a few weeks ago. I really appreciate all the research and tine that you put into each video.
If you guys haven't seen it, you should check out the 2016 documentary The Killing Season- It starts off pretty focused, and gradually branches out to the big picture of the countless unresolved homicides/missing people across the country-
I've never heard of it! I'll be sure to check it out!
Thanks! You guys are the best...I've had some true darkness in recent months..you guys have kept me strong and transfixed. Ty 😊
Thank you so much! I'm happy we were able to help in some way.
Love this show! Listen literally every morning getting ready for work🖤
I so LOVE you two. Swearing goes along with murder. Been getting your MM name out there.Keep up the good work. Thank You again.
Thank you so much! We've been trying to clean it up... some folks really didn't like it in the past and I (Yergy) used to have a super vulgar mouth. We felt that where this was a direct quote, it was fine.
I think if your listening to true crime that a few four letter words aren't going to curl your ears... 😊
Yooo, this is a year later, but I never knew that this guy was in the correctional institution in my hometown??? Like I know exactly where that place is and it’s near my childhood home. (If anyone thinks I’m lying, I could see the lights of the institution from my bedroom) and finding this out as an adult? It’s scary, and idk why.
I can say the way they deliver the content has changed for now vs 2 years ago I still enjoy the channel
I'm surprised his pants didn't rip when he gets up 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
I know none of this is funny but the way u read his confession made me chuckle 🤭
Methany ???? Did I hear that name right 🤣
Absoloutly loved this episode so much information and the full truth about the case. Well Done
Thank you, Moya!!!
Yergy saying that she smoked a cigarette and just sewed was hilarious to me
Another good episode! Just a minor correction--Al Capone was a Chicago mobster.
Ahhh did I accidentally say he was from elsewhere? My bad. Thanks for listening! This was a fun one to research
I'm late as usual, but I've watch3d about every video since the most recent. sound like a broken record I'm sure, but your respect and empathy really makes a huge impact on me. thanks yall
This is an awesome and informative channel. Thanks 😊 guys
Thank you so much Chris!
How have you not got more subs? Great channel x
Thank you so much
You 2 are so thorough and informative. And your voices are so pleasant. May you have a great today.
Thank you Heather! You as well.
Awesome video , live right down the street from where he worked and trailer was, I was only young kid when this happened
I truly like listening to you guys you're very informative. Especially love the little kitties in the background. Mine's name is Star. As I watch your shows more and more it makes me feel like abolishing the death penalty was not a good thing. I mean honestly we could be saving the money and putting it to better uses then housing these diluted people. Especially in this day and age
What a sick f**k thanks for sharing it with us never heard this one you guys rock!☺
You are most welcome! Tysm for listening ♡
Great episode! I did NOT know these other details about this guy!
This is such an amazing channel 🥰☕🍰
Thank you Bridget! ❤️
This dude spent the last days of his life in our local maximum security prison. Western Maryland Correctional Institution. Crazy thing is the prison is by one of our highschools.
The only true crime podcast I'm subscribed to and the most informative! 👍 just a suggestion - 🤔 how about the notorious Leonard Lake/ Charles Ng case. THAT IS A HORRIFIC CASE.
That's high praise! Thank you very much. We will absolutely add that case to the list, I have never heard of it before!
Amazing content again guys! Just read a comment and know it helps so thought I'd post. You're so good at this you two! 😉😊
Tysm, Rory!!! ♡
“I stayed up all night and sewed”
You monster 😂😂😂
Never guess a guy with a last name Metheny would engage in such acts.
I’m from South Baltimore/Northern AACo, and my Dad and Pop were Cops! This was always a story we heard!!!
Oh wow! Did you hear anything about it that we missed in the episode? If so, I'd love to know about it! This was a wild one to research
@@TheMiseryMachine I will def ask my Dad! Of course our tv is always on anything True Crime or Orioles Baseball! I sold my Home to move Back and Be with him!
@@TheMiseryMachine I will say the Pit Beef part is true as far as they were concerned!
@The Misery Machine it’s still super Popular here for folks to just pop up a stand anytime!
A Life is a life. They had families. Thank you for sharing.
He was a sad & disgusting person besides being very disturbed as well. Honestly I've never heard Joe being connected to "Organized Crime." He was genuinely a freak of nature. The horrific things he had done literally makes me sick to my stomach 🤮🤮 it makes me wonder what in the world was going through his mind?! He was so screwed up on many different levels!! Off topic I wanted to say how much I enjoy your channel and your videos have so much awesome content!!
We had no idea either. We were set to record at the beginning of last week when we stumbled upon this whole massive organized crime angle and we had to redo our notes. I'm so glad that we found it. And tysm!!!! ♡♡♡
@@TheMiseryMachine Well I'm glad you had mentioned he had been connected to "Organized Crime" because I find it interesting. And honestly it's never mentioned about that either but he was a disgusting human being. Also, you're very welcome 😊😊
Great job! I love your channel. True crime should have different rules regarding language.
Thank you very much! This is one of my favorite episodes of our older ones.
Love you guys and been watching you for years
Enjoyed the video..
Made me a bit peckish though need to order a pizza guy.
When he was reading the person listening was 😂 only because the way they read it
Okay, we're all here for all this craziness, so I'm just going to say, that this is wild, and I'm here for it!.. I feel so bad for his victims, may they be at peace 🕊️ Thanks for the story! I'm mind blown.. 7am here and I'm listening about this crazy guy!
I LOVE THIS CASE. This is the most detailed i 've found about it. Good vid. Subscribbbeedd
Thank you so much!!
Mum said " if he was neglected it was his own fault"😢 please explain that statement to me. Either he was neglected or he wasn't 😢
Thank you for putting this out. He was totally evil and sick!
I never knew he was tied to organized crime until now. I'm glad he got stopped before he would commit more acts.
It was the craziest discovery. I was just telling another listener about this - we legit got notes done early because we knew we were doing him. Recording day comes and we uncover this mass amount of info when searching for images and trying to finalizes names. We lucked out hard. You should totally check out the Sun articles, too.
No. I was put in a situation like that & I DID call the cops and I got a case against the guy. BUT my boyfriend almost didn’t believe me until the court date when he saw the guy and I had a friend who was assistant DA in the courthouse where he was prosecuted. If I didn’t have that on my side I probably wouldn’t have been listened to. It sounds much worse than it actually was. He just threatened me but he pulled a knife so I was petrified. Nobody can get away with that crap! What a crazy case this is!!!! Love you guys!
Loving the older content with you guys being open to saying whatever 🤗
Just went to follow your podcast! Rated it too!. Found you guys about couple of months ago. Finally getting the chance to binge 😅. Feel so late to the party
Thank you so much Shelby! We don't have a ton of ratings on the podcast platforms, so we greatly appreciate that!
Is that a real picture of him? Because people use it for him all the time because of it is the dudes terrifying
Magic Murder Powder…😂
I just found this channel and have been watching all of your videos. Both of you are doing an amazing job! Thank You for stating the truth and caring for the victims. Many True Crime does not care for the victims.
Do you guys have a podcast? I'd love to listen
Yup! We're available here and everywhere you can listen to podcasts.
Literally right after you said you aren't monetized an ad came on
That's so funny. UA-cam runs ads on their own that they keep 100% of the revenue on, we don't have control over that. Since we've done this episode, there are some videos of ours that are monetized, but many are completely demonetized, meaning any ads being run go directly to UA-cam.
@@TheMiseryMachine That's messed up. You deserve some ad revenue. I enjoyed the video, btw. Keep it up!
@@mphase7575 thank you! YT needs to do better by their creators.
I have watched videos on UA-cam that say that he had a complete stand where he sold his human meat sandwiches. One claimed he had a young teenage helper and that when he ran out of meat he killed the boy to get more human ingredients. Absolutely intriguing, thought-provoking, slam dunk story by you guys! WOW!
I wish your videos had more of a visual aspect. But I like them anyways , definitely better than most. And thank God y'all's voice is not annoying and bland like CHILLZ
i love your channel for a number of reasons, but the only thing more surprising to me than the fact that methany didn’t sell human burgers was learning coke turned yergy into a seamstress 😂
I knew about his story and I know it’s not important but looking at the picture I wonder how they found a shirt for him?
I dabbled a few times 🤣🤣
Most thorough UA-cam true crime research on the entire platform, thanks for your effort!
☝️♥️
That's a huge compliment, thank you very much for saying so! ❤️
It's crazy to think that this person got institutionalized in a city that I live 30 minutes away from. The things Joe Metheny did to his victims are just downright cruel and evil. I'm glad I live in a rural area.
Nice video by the way! I've tried to look up more info about Joe Metheny, but thanks to this video, I've learned a lot more. Thank you for the information provided in this video.
Lol @ smoking cigarettes and sewing 😂
When it comes to drugs and what you do while on them it really comes down to your mindset. Someone who with a sober mind is willing or wanting to cause chaos, is more likely to go do that. Where as someone who is more relaxed and chill is most likely to be happy, chill and enjoy their buzz. Now mixing drugs? Thats kind of a toss up and more to do with your emotional and mental state when you start to use the drugs. The reason why drugs are associated with people with anger issues, muder and violence is because most addicts have unresolved mental health issues that stem from truama.
every idiot blames drugs for all problems, drugs are an easy target. hmmmm im a piece of crap, oh yeah lets blame drugs for everything
New sub here. I laugh at how much attention serial killers get
Have you heard of the murder case of Girly Lin Chew? Random crazy suggestion that is not well known of. Love the show, Love you both!!
I've heard her named but don't remember the details of her case - but I'm going to look into it! Tysm, we love you!!! ♡♡♡
Great suggestion Marie! That case was filled with some serious whack jobs. Lust, murder and little green men... 👽
When I heard about this on one of the other channels I thought "that's so Baltimore". Hearing about the organized crime aspect, I had no idea how Baltimore this story really was!
Best true crime channel of all time.
Wow, I'm from Baltimore, I heard about it, didn't worry about it.
"Guess what Daddy's bringing home for supper?!?" -Brotha Lynch Hung
Watching from Brunswick, ME. This dude was seriously creepy.
Welcome! We're in L/A - I love Brunswick
We grew up near S. Hanover and Patapsco Ave in Brooklyn/Curtis Bay area in the 90's. Learned to swim and fish under Hanover St bridge and Patapsco Ave bridges. Not sure if it's related but we did once find a dead homeless man on a mattress, poked him with sticks he was definitely dead. A friend lit it on fire and we ran. I also do remember a small hot dog style stand that had really good bbq, burgers and hot dogs, really cheap too. We'd go to the gas stations at the intersection of Potee and Patapsco to bum money and ride our bikes over to get a bbq sandwich for .75 cents and the sandwiches were huge. We'd even give the guy fish we caught in the river in exchange for sandwiches sometimes during the summer. He was very nice even helped us fix our bikes a couple times.
Eww,I've just had a pork casserole!
I subscribed to your channel a while back but just saw this. It's so odd. My father's birth name was Metheny! He passed away in 2014, never having known whi his birth family was. Just a little creepy!
12:59 I'm listening to this after seeing Sweeney Todd. This monster sounds like a real life Sweeney Todd.
How does this only have 71 likes?
Guess again
I think methany could have been lying about the body count and serving the body parts in burgers he might have liked the notarity possibly.
But didn’t metheny say in his confession that he mixed in human flesh with regular meat and sold it at his food stand?
As far as what I'm hearing he was caught plenty of times they just didn't keep them..🤔🤔🤔
