I bet many think because you are from London and are photographers, you and Andrew are not “real” narrowboaters. But this video should remind such people that Andrew and his family have a very long history of working on the canals. I doubt there are many living on canal boats today have a lock bearing their family name! And well done Kris!
Congratulations 🎊🎈🎉🍾 You did it!!! Cheers to the Braunston Tunnel Survivors Club!! You did great Kris! Personally I would have been in the boat, flat out on the floor crying. You even passed another boat!!! Loved that Andrew’s mom was there helping with the locks and then the large group of woman watching you. Amazing that Andrew had the Raymond’s tiller pin and the family windlass, which looked immaculate, and that the lock was named after his dad. Andrew and his mom were great. You kicked butt Kris…. and found religion. Have a drink🍷 You deserve it. Thank you. 😊🤗 Kathy
That was so much fun. Only found your channel two weeks ago but watching a few vlogs a day. So relaxing and love your filming of the nature ànd animals. Great to share your adventure. Kris, you are smashing those locks.
Total respect for you guys, really do enjoy your as you call them vlogs. Kris you did brilliantly with all those locks then that spooky tunnel with your filming i felt as if i was there with you. Thankyou for all the pleasure you give my wife and i.
Hair is hairing! 🤩 Suspenders are suspending. Not only sharp in the brains, but also in the looks! A Kris and Andrew vlog is very much needed today! Thanks so much. x
It’s awesome how laid back Andrew and his mum are. If I was doing that tunnel in that same situation id probably spend the whole time hiding the babbling in sheer terror so that the two people who are used to tunnels wouldn’t know I was freaking out. You’ve got to feel pretty comfortable with someone to show how obviously scared you are. I’d likely pass out standing up trying to hide it lol
I've kind of fallen in love with Andrew's mum... and the fact there's an actual lock in the family. The tunnel has made me want to have a cup of tea and a sit down... phew! 😅
Fantastic episode! The challenge and the daring! White shirt remained unstained through lock gears and gates and unsullied beneath dripping tunnel seams! The photography was, as usual, beautiful and shot with unusual angles. The physicality of the locks, the warmth of being with Andrew’s mum, and the terror of the tunnel involved this loyal viewer as nothing else I’ve seen in days. Bronston Tunnel Survivors Club - Huzzah!
Great job getting all the locks done Kris, imagine the pecs and glutes you’re going to have by the end of the summer😂. Well done in the tunnel as well, I think I’d have had to get off and walk above ground🫣. So nice to see Andrew’s mum on the boat and listening to her tell stories from her time on the boats. Lovely scenery as usual, you both just have an eye to make the mundane spectacular🥰🙋🏼♀️
Wow! Kris, you’re a rockstar! Nice job on the tunnel!! I wasn’t even on the boat and I was sweating. Andrew is the absolute calm in the face of chaos, real or imagined. Never thought 2 boats would fit to pass each other but like Kris said more room than she thought. Rosemary, you’re also a rockstar. I loved hearing your stories about the locks and tunnels. Your family is truly an amazing source of knowledge about long boating. Don’t know if that’s the proper term but you get my gist. Don’t let your knowledge get lost. Record it either on tape, film or by writing. It’s an important piece of information. Well I hope to see you all next time. Be well and thanks for taking us along. Love from the states.❤ ooh, I know…publish a booklet about your time on the canals .
Your bow light added fiery ambiance to that murky tunnel trip. Amazing navigating! Cue Tunnel Of Love (Dire Straits). So nice to include Mum on this trip. It just feels right. ATB.
Hello from Kansas! That is so cool to have family history on the canal and be able to share it with your mom! Great job on the tunnel, you'll rate professional in no time! Thanks!
WELL DONE that girl. We have friends that used to live on the canal, near Skipton on the Leeds to Liverpool. We did have a nice day out with them, however I admit I chickened out of going through the mile tunnel at Foulridge, we met them on the other side. This tunnel does have traffic lights, but I'm just too clostrafobic . You most definitely deserve a glass or two. CHEERS It was nice to see Andrew's mum, I bet she can tell us a few stories about canal life. Already looking forward to your next video. Regards to you all, cheers Millysue
I'm new to you guys but have been watching waterway vlogs for an age. Most sympathetically edited bringing all aspects of such life together. Well done,
Great job on the tunnel how cool going through that …..it was so pretty when you came out of the tunnel …love your videos and can’t wait for the next one especially to see what you get at the bookshop … you do wonderful videos 📚💛📚
The UA-cam algorithm has ‘found you’ I have been watching some channels over the last few months Your canal boat is amazing. It’s how you and others manage to live in what is a confined space but you make it work. I suppose it makes you think about ‘clutter’ and ‘ stuff’. My house is full of ‘stuff’ and if I had to downsize I would have to get rid of a lot My relative is selling his flat in Notting Hill for around £700k. He has no ‘ties’ and has gone back to painting rather than his stall at Portobello Market This lifestyle would be ideal. Moor up at Little Venice Anyway ‘keep calm and carry on’ I live in Birmingham. We have more canals than Venice. ❤️❤️😃😃🏴🏴🏴👍 👍 😎😎😍😍😊😊
Isn't it just The beautiful life As you know And now with the star of this particular show Andrew's mum ❤️ Get a grip lloyd Well, yeah that also feels unfair Coz you all did brill !!
That was a great video on every level. I loved it - then again, I love this channel. Congratulations on getting through the tunnel and surviving - and for looking impeccable after it all! BTW, I wouldn't recommend wearing Crocs for anything that involves water underfoot. They're great and comfortable but can get extremely slippy.
Thank you very much ☺️ yeah you’re right about crocs, they’re super useful for boating when you’re going in and out the whole time so can pop them on and off easily.
I went through braunston tunnel in February, so cold and so long. You did well Chris Andrew and mom. I’ll remember Kendall’s lock for next time and think of your dad, Andrew
Great vlog handling lock's and tunnel skills 👌 outstanding 👏 I went to Saltaire last weekend to David hockney art gallery there beautiful day had ice-cream from narrow boat there canal runs right through I think it would be a great place for you to barge to as always loving the vlog 🎉🎉❤
Your videos here are still the best! LOVE them every time, and they are the only one I'm following as everything else is just OVER & Over the same without most of the time any Q. One thing yet has Amazed me in this video near the start ... I never but heard about it ... seem a person with such white skin tone ever. Even towards your partner it is vary white + I assume what you call pure English or English Rose! GREAT all around all the best from New Zealand!!!
Don't need another channel on narrowboats. My desire is already there, however your panic attack through the tunnel made me laugh (at your expense, sorry) subscribing!
Poor wee Andy must have been absolutely knackered in the first half of the video drinking all that hot tea and steering that wee barge down the canal watching everyone else do the locks. 🤣
Everyone knows its Docs for Locks not Crocs with Socks for Locks. What a nice story about Kendall's (does it have the possessive?) Lock. Wonder what footwear he wore for them? Say hello to yer mum...she's great.
Dead at the rhyme, hahaha. Might have to get that done in cross stitch for the wall! No possessive on the Lock name for whatever reason. Would have been boots in the olden days I reckon. All the photos I’ve seen of working boaters everyone was very smartly dressed, we’re utter slobs in comparison.
Love the vibes. One small thing maybe because watching on a phone.. maybe turn down the sound of boats, water / main sound of footage to let the music when music is being used, the piano is lovely at the start and would be great when there is less talking and more footage, nonetheless.. this is no criticism I love it!
If you where gonna blast music during that underground segment, it probably should've been "Valley of the shadows/long dark tunnel" by Origin Unknown. But seriously, you braved it, well done!
I bet many think because you are from London and are photographers, you and Andrew are not “real” narrowboaters. But this video should remind such people that Andrew and his family have a very long history of working on the canals. I doubt there are many living on canal boats today have a lock bearing their family name! And well done Kris!
Also, Andrew's family goes way back to boating on the canals. I think you both do extremely well, with it all. 📚☕️🍷🌱🌿🐈⬛
That’s very kind of you, thank you ❤️
How lovely to share those moments with your Mum and the spirit of your Dad, As usual a joyous , delightful film, Thank you.
Thanks so much ❤️

Thanks so much for your thoughtful comment Kathy, I love them! Have a gorgeous weekend 😘🍷
Seriously one of the most emotional things I've ever seen.. Coupled with all of your humor, a truly wonderful experience
That was so much fun. Only found your channel two weeks ago but watching a few vlogs a day. So relaxing and love your filming of the nature ànd animals. Great to share your adventure. Kris, you are smashing those locks.
Precious memories with your Mum and I’m sure Dad and Grandad would be chuffed to bits that you’re back on the water.
Total respect for you guys, really do enjoy your as you call them vlogs. Kris you did brilliantly with all those locks then that spooky tunnel with your filming i felt as if i was there with you. Thankyou for all the pleasure you give my wife and i.
Andrews mum, who's been through it thousands of times, looked suitably unimpressed at the drama 👌
Nice film lighting inside the tunnel
Completely 😂
Definately one of my favourite UA-cam Channels. The photography and content is always superb. Keep up the great work guys ! 👍
Thank you very much!
Hair is hairing! 🤩 Suspenders are suspending. Not only sharp in the brains, but also in the looks! A Kris and Andrew vlog is very much needed today! Thanks so much. x

Oh wow, It's you! Andrew your mum is so sweet and lovely. I'll net she would've steered the tunnel without a load of fuss. Great vlog guys.
Wow, Finally - you made us wait 😁😁 - I'll save it to enjoy over the weekend😍🤩
Have a fab one! 😘
Smiling all the way through,Thank you for sharing your tunnel adventure 😊

I’ll take a wait for this quality of vlog, such a classy channel, love it!
Really appreciate that 🥰
Good trip so interesting I am loving it 😊
Very impressed at your pristine white shirt throughout ❤
Ah don’t be, it got filthy at the bottom! But I can confirm that vanish spray does get lock grease out 😂
Kendall’s gate very special thank you for sharing

Hi, welcome 😊❤️
Your bow light added fiery ambiance to that murky tunnel trip. Amazing navigating! Cue Tunnel Of Love (Dire Straits).

What a fabulous video!! I laughed all the way through the tunnel 😂😂. Yes, thank you, I will watch it again after I finish these pork belly tacos!
Pork belly tacos sound DELISH! Thank you! 🥰
Really looking forward to seeing your videos of a stretch of canal I know well down to London. They’re so beautifully done.
Thanks so much! I hope you’ll enjoy the upcoming vlogs 😊

Relaxing on the couch watching you work hard... Lovely video, great to follow your adventures. Mum's a star!

Almost certainly the only Canalboat Channel where the phrase “Saying hello to the kids hotboxing the tunnel” will be heard.
hahaha
I went through braunston tunnel in February, so cold and so long. You did well Chris Andrew and mom. I’ll remember Kendall’s lock for next time and think of your dad, Andrew
Feel the fear and do it anyway. Well done. 😊
Great vlog handling lock's and tunnel skills 👌 outstanding 👏

Hahaha, welcome 😂
I share the same horror with tunnels we are on the mon and brec and it collapsed once tut!!!
Excellent stuff, you could easily pivot to become the narrowboat folk horror channel.
Hahaha 😅
Poor wee Andy must have been absolutely knackered in the first half of the video drinking all that hot tea and steering that wee barge down the canal watching everyone else do the locks. 🤣
Everyone knows its Docs for Locks not Crocs with Socks for Locks. What a nice story about Kendall's (does it have the possessive?) Lock. Wonder what footwear he wore for them? Say hello to yer mum...she's great.

Who’s playing cello? How nice!
Tunnel kings and queens! Harecastle next???
One day!! 😅

But seriously, you braved it, well done!
Great tip, maybe I should start a tunnel playlist for future trips 🎶 thank you!
If that long tunnel was in New Zealand it would be filled with cave weta. I would wear a hat. And glow worms - nature's fairy lights.
Never let the paddle go down like that it cud catch u and seriously hurt u
The holding it by hand method Andrew was talking about? I would never!!
Xx
Thoroughly enjoy your vlogs but please, please stop your cursing!
Honestly, this is me trying 😂 I’ll do my best but I’m sweary by nature I’m afraid! Thank you for the nice words ❤️
You should go live in a condo so you can be safe and comfy
Tried it, didn’t like it 😂
What’s the problem? There’s a light at the end of the tunnel…🫠
