I forgot to say your and your mom's garden look beautiful as well as the arche's . I cannot wait to see all the flowers. Your brother in law are absolutely amazing with the building of the rocks as well as you and your husband. I cannot wait to see the end product of your hard labour. Granny South Africa❤
Hi 👋🏻 fellow South African, 😊 so good to see another one of us here. I am loving watching the buildings and gardens take shape on this farm. Very exciting. 👏 👏
The greenhouse has obviously worked very well for your beautiful mother❤️❤️❤️ I’m loving the build, it’s coming along nicely.. We will all miss Omar while he’s away this summer. He will love coming back to see the progress though. Sending love from Oz to you all🐨🐨❤️❤️
A tip for the cardboard in the beds is to wet it really really well before adding the compost/soil on top. For now you can just keep watering a lot! Some people poke a hole in the cardboard for the seedlings to grow deeper. Looking great!!
The carrots need sandy soil yo grow deep into it otherwise it will look like the one u've got in your hand. Make.Do.Grow is really a great YT channel. They plant lufer with great success as wel as other veggies. Maybe it will also help you because most of their beds have cardbord underneath the soil. Love granny South Africa❤
Congratulations on the hard work, friends! It's getting more and more beautiful, you will be very proud to look at everything you have built in the years to come
Here is a tip. For all the wood you use in the garden, for posts or raised beds or even fence posts, char burn anything that is going on the ground or under the ground. It will stop it rotting and uses no chemicals so can be used in the soil where you are growing vegetables.
We have actually charred a lot of wood here such as the wooden posts holding the container roof. I have all the tools as well. Just need to set aside some time for it. Thanks for the tip
It always makes my day when i wake up on Saturday to a new Indigo Escape video ♥️ What a joy to see all the progress you're making on the rebuild! It's astonishing to see such quick progress - you can really start picturing how it will look when it's done. So exciting to think about being able to move in by the end of the year! You've been in the container all this time - being in your actual build will feel amazing!
Thank you Miranda! Always a pleasure to see comments from our returning viewers for sure! Im glad you are enjoying the process. Im hoping the sketch up drawings help also visualise it. We need to do the roof bit as well so you can also see the finish outside :) W cant wait to move into the new build but I think I will miss the container a lot too. It has provided an amazing cozy space for us all this time :)
Hey Omar Andrea, Simon and Mum, I am shocked at how much you have done in such a short space of time, and it's really beginning to look amazing. What crazy weather you have over there is it normally that wet?. I love the idea of the veggie flower beds❤ Thank you a lovely video guys 😊❤❤
hey Sonya! We had such great progress this past few weeks, it has been incredible! Even the rain didn't stop us! :) This rain isnt particularly normal but it has been about 4-5 days with muc better weather. However, it has kind gone from wet and cold to dry and hot. A bit of a shockmto the system! Not complaining though!
I absolutely love the stone work guys. It's looking amazing. Me encanta ver a tu mami y a ti trabajando en el jardin juntas. Se va a ver espectacular cuando todo empiece a crecer. Me hicieron morirme de la risa cuando estaban poniendo el arco. Great job to all. Love and be safe!😘🤗🌼ve
You and your mum are two busy bees 🐝🐝 me encanta ver a tu mami ocupada y haciendo cosas que le gustan. Eso la va a mantener joven, saludable y feliz. Keep up the good work guys. The garden and the build are looking great 👍
Wow! The stone walls look beautiful! GREAT job and great progress! I loved watching veggie garden preparation and can't wait to see final results❤ Kitty is so cute 🐈 Your Mom is such a sweet person. Her help is appreciated 👍😊👍❣️
Simon is a really clever builder. He doesn't have to be an outgoing UA-camr too. I think the rock walls are beautiful. Well done on the arch! It looks fantastic. Now if only the cucumbers will cooperate. Your soil is too packed for carrots. The soil needs to be loose and deep. Carrots grown down ⬇.
Thanks for your understanding! Yeah, the soil here isn't great. I had better luck this year though but I will have to work the soil a bit more. Any suggestions?
I like the tunnel you made for the garden. The whole video is wonderful. The progress you have all done on the build, garden etc has been educational and very interesting. Have a lovely day.
Congrats for your hard job and resilience and specially the presence of your mother there with you both, define your formation as human beings!!!!hug from Lisbon!!
The other thing you can do with that fencing is make a ‘tube’ about waist high, ref foot across, & clip it securely. Find a plastic or stuff cardboard tube, place in the middle & fill with small rubble. Line the inside with heavy ‘damp proof’ plastic. Fill the area around the middle tube with good soil & compost. Gently pull the middle tube out now you simply cut a small hip in the sides to plant whatever you wish, strawberries do very well like this.
well done for continuing in the rain 👏👏👏I love see your gardening progressing week by week! The trellis/arch looks amazing! Also loving your new logo/front/branding on your videos 🧡
Oh fantastic building work you are all amazingly talented,…I have watched since you first came on f book and I still love every video and live your mum ❤️
When putting the cardboard down it should have been totally soaked , then pile compost on top it will break down easier .love the way you are progressing with your new build it's going to be a little haven when finished x
For the mesh arch would it work to start with 2 steel posts in the ground and thread the mesh in and out the gaps for one side then for the other side thread the posts like a needle thru the mesh then into the ground for a bit more stability (if the mesh is flexible enough). I love the retic pipe edging. Finishes it off nicely plus protects your eyes too.
What we call cattle panels in the States are heavier gauge metal and about 50 inches wide (no need to cut them). Many people use those as garden arches, supported by T posts. If similar panels exist in Portugal, they're probably costlier, so good on you for creating an economical garden trellis. Wonderful progress on the blockwork, beautiful stone facing, and garden!
Love watching the progress! Have you ever shown the plans for the entire site? I believe you are currently working on your bedroom, on-suite and living room. But then you see the building right behind which is not in good shape. Would love to see the vision/layout of the buildings and what your vision will be please. Gracias and I love your madre!!
Hello Mariah! We do have some plans and have shown them in some videos. When Omar comes back, we can do another update on it :) Give me a few weeks as I dont know how to use the program as well as he does
Very good. You know and you are following the rules. In order to avoid future problems which can be very, very annoying. Particularly, after trying to do your best and spending so much time and effort recovering an abandoned property. Best wishes.
Unfortunately, we cant change the layout of the buildings so we are adding some windows on either side for the light to come through. The courtyards will be beautiful decorated so she will still have a lovely view.
Fantastic video! I would not have worked in that rain! LOL😂!! I would have just covered it and if was to hard added some water or dumped it where your floors going to go! Or mad an edging for one of your garden beds. Just thinking out loud!❤❤ AWE, I wish I'd known about Omar's tours! I wanted to go on one!?! One for UK, and does he go to Wales? One of my Grandparents is Welsh. And I want to do his Spain tour also!!! Not much!! I'll have to get on a street corner and beg for change!!! I did an arch in my garden bed but it was with a Cattle panel. Real strong, not flimsy and 4 fence tempest 5 ft (1 ft in the ground). Tomatoes, Cucumbers, Yellow Squash, Zucchini and Canalope! Yes, Canalope! When the fruit starts to grow, you can put it in mesh like fruit bags at the grocery store, or plastic bags and tie the bags to the arch underneath, it doesn'tneed the sun! Just the stalk and leaves. The fruit is protected to from birds. The Cattle panels come in 8ft or 16 ft. So you can buy 2, 8ft panels and make a t-pee, (like your little one but 2 sides that connect at the top. The 16 ft one. You just hammer or use a t-post tool, to put the t-post in the 4 corners. Then just use the t-post to hold one side as you zip tie or wire the panel to 2 post on one side. Then I just lifted up the other side and it just bowed on it's own. And I zipped tied it since it was quicker. So it's 4ft in-between the arch and the arch is like 6ft tall. I could have done 2ft in between, but that's too narrow. My neighbors came home from work shocked and asked who helped. I said, Noone. Yes I'm feeling better at times. When I was done with that I sure was hurting. My x-rays finally arrived so I start Physical therapy on Wednesday! Stay Safe! Tell the Family hello!! Oh, I was LMAO watching you and your Mom with that wire and praying you wouldn't stab each other with it!! ✝️🙏❤🇺🇸🇵🇹⛵👣🍍🍍🍍🍍🍍☘🤗
