    It’s so gross and sad when Hissman lets Ethan know that “this position is gonna get u in so much trouble”. What he really means is I’ve cultivated an audience that will come at ur head and entire family if you even think of disagreeing with this sentiment. Basically it’s a veiled threat exactly like you should expect from someone of his political ilk.

    At this point I’m legit convinced Hasan is just a robot. I’ve never seen Hasan show an ounce of empathy to his so called “friend” of his,I’ve never seen Hasan show empathy for anyone in any context despite how much he claims he loves to “educate people from a place of understanding and empathy”,I’ve never seen him engage with any topic and show any genuine emotions (negative or positive) when covering it,I’ve seen him consistently lie over the years about stuff that’s so unbelievably easy to prove wrong without a care in the world as if he truly believes every lie he says,I’ve never seen him give a genuine take of his rather than just repeating whatever’s considered a typical “leftist” or “socialist” take at the moment,and I’ve literally never seen anything that suggests he genuinely cares about anyone other than himself. He has to be a robot built by conservatives to make the left look as bad as possible. That’s the only explanation for his behavior at this point

      @@man.itz.ashton They heavily censored *in favor* of Hasan. They made it members only and tried to filter out the Hasan haters in the audience. The average viewership for a regular ep is like 40-50k (now closer to 40k after the falling out), and the moderation basically made it so that people just quit watching leftovers and watch the regular show. Which I think is pretty healthy, otherwise it's just hate watching for Hasan and ruining the chat. As a Jewish Israeli "leftist", and a peace activist my entire life, with many close Arab friends and a long fascination and involvement in the political aspects of it all, I can only say that Hassan is rather ignorant on the matter (not entirely though, but mostly. And dangerously so). Not that Ethan is completely informed (though, little are, as it truly is a complicated and vastly long story, spanning close to 200 years; the short version of it, mind you - definitely not only since 1948), but he is definitely much more realpolitik about the situation. There are inaccuracies thrown around casually and carelessly here by both of them, but that's the state of discourse nowadays anyway.
    P.s., Papa, if you ever wish to have a conversation with someone like myself (Israeli leftist who sees both sides, hopefully) on stream, or off, I'd be more than happy to share my knowledge, as I feel I can provide added and nuanced insights that one should need to get from people who actually live in Israel/Palestine. I did previously dm you on ig, but i have no idea if you actually read these.
    Peace, Salaam, Shalom.

      What are the inaccuracies thrown around by Ethan

    • @LudwigHorsecock
      @LudwigHorsecock 10 місяців тому

      I'm assuming what you think Ethan got wrong was Israeli's general sentiments about certain slogans and thoughts about taking down the wall and that they'll "never let it happen". Is this true? Do a majority (as in 50% or more) not believe those things? Genuinely curious, I don't know. I think it said in an Israeli poll it was something like 83% supported the bombings or something crazy. Please correct me if I'm wrong

    • @gwolks1008
      @gwolks1008 10 місяців тому +8

      @@xygenzyHey. So I can give a few examples. One may consider them major or minor, or even not inaccuracies at all but a matter of opinion/framing... But still, since you asked:
      1. It is inaccurate to claim that no Israeli will concede to the idea of a "one-state" solution. There are, in fact, many who do support it. Some on the left, but mostly on the right. This does not mean a single state in which Israelis and Palestinians are completely equal, mind you. It's a complex issue within itself, which I will not go into further, but there is plenty you can read about it.
      2. The use of the word apartheid in this debate (by both). I definitely understand where it comes from, but the situation in Israel is different from South Africa apartheid. In reality, the "apartheid" (i.e., different law systems for Jews/Arabs) situation in Israel is predominantly in the West Bank, which is... Not really Israel. Having said that, it doesn't detract from the fact that Arabs here are mistreated by the law, are given less opportunities and are oppressed due to racism. In my opinion, the use of the term is mainly for shock-value, but that's debatable.
      By the way, considering the two points above, in my opinion and most leftists in Israel, a "one state solution" will bring about a de-facto apartheid regime in the land, since indeed, as Ethan tried to repeatedly explain, Jews here will not allow for Arabs to jeopardize their security - this will inevitably result in apartheid. For the left here, and opposed to what Hassan is saying, only two states are actually a moral thing, since only by that, the situation described above can be negated.
      3. Comments on the Oslo accords. To say that it is only via Hamas suicide bombings and terror that the Oslo agreements failed is not completely accurate. Israel, which should have stopped expansion of settlements as part of the agreements, deliberately failed to do so. In reality, both sides did not do their "best" to fulfill the deals. This was taken advantage of by radicals on both sides.
      4. Labeling Itzhak Rabin as a "dove". Do not get me wrong, he is probably the best we ever had, and in his time, hope for peace was the highest. But Rabin was a war general, who understood in his later years, that there is no other option but to reach an agreement with the Palestinians and that no other option exists. He was not a hippie pacifist. But I'll say - I wish we had him here today. At least he was sane, rational and empathetic to the Palestinian plight.

    • @gwolks1008
      @gwolks1008 10 місяців тому +6

      @@LudwigHorsecockHey Ludwig. Regarding your question, then I believe it's quite accurate. Support for an aggressive military reaction was, and still is, highly supported by the public, following the brutal events of October 7th. The massacre and the kidnappings of very large amounts of civilians boiled the blood of the Israeli population, which sought justice and revenge (I guess this or the other depends on one's point of view). Whatever one's opinion on Israel's response, I'll say two things which I believe to be facts: one, Hammas knew that Israel will respond harshly, though perhaps they did not expect the magnitude they got. Two, what Hassan said, i. e., that Israel should have dissolved the government and negotiated with Hammas to free the kidnapped in response (again, whether you agree with it or not), shows his utter ignorance of Israeli psychy or his understanding of war tactics.

    • @LudwigHorsecock
      @LudwigHorsecock 10 місяців тому +4

      @gwolks1008 Thank you! It’s refreshing to have a level headed discussion on the matter. That was very genuine answer and I think minds like yours are necessary for moving general sentiment forward.
      Yeah it really does feel like Hasan wants this war to be the same as it was in other countries. He is ignorant on the subject bc he’s unwilling to accept the idea of the sheer level of contrast between the examples he brought up. Like the situation with the Israeli who literally escaped being gassed and then 3 years later they get attacked by people who wanted to wipe them all out for occupying their territory, that is generational trauma that will last for a very long time and the trauma itself is insane on a level no one could possibly understand. His “ignorance of Israeli psychy” is very profoundly evident if he actually believes that the possibility for taking down the wall is on the table considering all of that combined with what happened recently
      That and if they dissolve, Hamas will 100% use the weakened state as an opportunity to attack. It’s insane that the group that has built itself up from their own horrific generational trauma and militaristic goals would just be like “oh okay cool bro. We’ll dissolve rn and be friends and it’s all water under the bridge” . It’s just insane to me how little he truly understands the psyche of either side to *that* degree. This isn’t gonna happen unless there is total peace for at least a hundred years, or MASSIVE amounts of humanist movements and an overhaul in general sentiments that cut through the trauma of having survived the Holocaust and mass bombing campaigns. Just “dissolving the borders” is a fairy tale

    I used to be a fan of Hasan but it's so clear he causes more harm than good. In a situation everyone agrees is complicated Hasan says "No, I'm actually an expert." I think he does a disservice to his super impressionable audience. He's so opportunistic, he uses people then turns on them and I think worst of all he's spineless. He presents like he pushes back on ideas he disagrees with but he just aligns with the take that his core audience thinks is right and burns everything else to the ground with no regard for the real world impact. With certain things the himbo make dumb take thing was funny but it's not anymore. I genuinely think he is too dumb and too concerned with the way he looks to his fans to be in the position he's in.

      It is true. Ethan rolled out the red carpet for Jordan Peterson when he first had him on the show but when Ethan started gaining a more radical audience he turned his back on Jordan Peterson and started condemning him even though Jordan Peterson had not changed in that intervening time and even then, what stopped Ethan from having a talk with him on his show like he did for Jontron and like he's doing for Hasan?
      Ethan noscoped Jordan Peterson and all he said is that Ethan was going to get gotted by the audience he was catering to, and this video and the videos covering this controversy prove that succinctly.
      No one says you have to become a Jordan Peterson fan, but the man was right about Ethan. Ethan sowed a radical audience, and now he's reaping it.

A wealthy Israeli mam bought houses and greenhouses and farms from the 27 settlements and donated them to the Palestinians that moved into Gaza. He also donated millions of dollars to help them get started. So they were basically all set. They could have made Gaza their utopia. But sadly as soon as they came in they elected Hamas as their leaders. They also choose to burn down all the green houses and farms that were given to them. Also there was no border or anything until hamas started launching bombs at civilian areas. They also did many suicide bombing in Israel so the border had to be closely monitored from than on.

    Ive watched this debate and the two brought nothing new to the table about this conflict, its just back and forth questioning and repeated opinions. I think this is the end of leftovers.

    i agree with most your opinion, but i dont think hasans refusial to admit that "from the river..." is obviously a anti-semtic, comes fromhis western privlage , its because his family and roots are still in the middle east. he is just a product of the culture out there, they dont like jews, so hasan was brought up by these extremly rich turks, who prolly hate isreal.

    Im a new fan and enjoyed papa's videos that I've seen so far, the 2 hour vids usually feel like a 40 minute vid cause im entertained the whole way through, but hasans sheer idiocy, info dumping, and propogandizing for a terrorist organization, made this vid feel like I've been watching for 6 hours. Idk how i ever took hasan seriously but thankfully because of recent actually serious situations I've seen the light and realized hasan is absolutely braindead. Still love the gut tho.

    This shouldn’t be reaction content. I like Papa Gut’s measured responses in a lot of contexts, but I don’t think you’re qualified to comment on this. You need to learn more.

    This is going to be the hottest take, but this is karma for having Trisha Paytas as a cohost. Ethan hired her on as a side show attraction where she acts weird and freaks out and Ethan gets to be the straight man and tell jokes and look sane by comparison.
    Now he's friends with Hasan and Hasan doesn't respect anyone and only cares about himself and exploited Ethan's friendship the same way Ethan exploited Trisha's willingness to work with Ethan as his peer.
    Ethan needs to stop doing the Destiny thing where you hire psychos to orbit around you for content, and find some real people to be around.

      The dumbest take . If your logic was true, then what was Trisha’s karma lol. She blew frenemies up, not Ethan, and the choice for her to be the co host was based on their chemistry when she was a guest.
