I wish you would have told more about the formal night. Like dress and what was special about it. Going to Alaska in July for first ever cruise on the Grand Princess.
Formal night is apparently not as formal as it once was. I wore black Dockers, a button up shirt and a jacket with no tie. Many of the ladies wore dresses but only a few wore very formal. A number of people didn't dress up too much at all. It was more laid back than I thought it would be. The main difference I saw was that the food in main dining was a little more upscale with interesting presentations. Baked Alaska was the big dessert presentation on the last formal night. I saw lots of people stay in their "formal" clothes around the ship those nights but others weren't dressed up at all. Quite a few people didn't participate and just ate at the buffet, International cafe, or one of the places around the pool. I hope that helped. Thanks for watching and commenting!
