I'm a Texas based travel content creator making video about nearby Waco, the state of Texas, the surrounding states (Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, and New Mexico), the Western United States, Branson Missouri, and all things cruising to help you find the people, places, and things you're looking for. I live in central Texas, own a condo in Branson, Missouri, and love to cruise, especially on Princess Cruise Lines. I love a good road trip, discovering new places, and eating good food. I have traveled to all but a couple of the states in United States, and most of provinces and territories in Canada and plan to do more international travel in the future. I enjoy using points and miles to travel and find it a great way to travel more. Join me on this journey!

Sure looks nice, didn't see litter, grafitti, or people laying in the streets. Like stepping back to a more gentle time in our past. Please try and preserve this treasure as long as possible!
It is a very well kept area that is worth preserving. Thank you for watching and commenting!
A great walking tour. Hot Springs is an interesting place.
Thanks for the comment and your continued support!
Looking forward to it!
Look forward to seeing you in the chat again!
Nice work! We'll be back for more!
Thank you so much and thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Great video! You have a calming voice. I’m planning a trip to Waco and this was really helpful .
Thank you so much! Waco has become such a fun place to visit. If you have time check out Homestead Heritage. I have a separate video in the Waco and Central Texas playlist if you're interested. Thank you for watching and commenting. Enjoy you Waco trip!
A great overview of Queen Wilhelmina State Park. A very nice place to spend a couple days. The hiking trails are nice with some of the best views in the park.
Thanks for the comment. As I'm sure you recognized, it's a pullout from the longer Talimena Scenic Byway video but I want to reach out to people who might be looking for Queen Wilhelmina and not recognized it as part of the byway.
Another great drive! On one of my drives down the Talimena I stopped at every pull off and spent at least 10 minutes to take in the view, read the signs and walk any short trails. It took most of the day to complete the Byway. I'm a little surprised you didn't show the Winding Stair Campground and Overlook, but I know you have time constraints for the videos. The overlook is one of the best on the Byway and has plenty of picnic tables. The campground is nice and well maintained and only $8 per night. Queen Wilhelmina State Park is very nice and has many hiking trails. Hot Springs is an interesting town and the National Park is a must see. Looking forward to the rest of this series. Thanks!
It is definitely not a place to rush through if you want to get the full enjoyment from it. We stopped at about half of the overlooks but I guess I missed the Winding Stair Campground. I love Queen Wilhelmina. It brings back childhood memories. I want to go back and stay in the lodge for a couple of days! I have lots of Hot Springs footage so it may be in two parts...we will see. My biggest disappointment in the Queen Wilhelmina area was the lack of people. I remember it as a much busier place than it was this Monday at the end of this June. Thanks once again for your continued support!
This is awesome
Definitely a fun place to visit! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Very niiiiice, thanks for sharing. What type of camera 📹 did you use?
You're very welcome! I used a GoPro Hero 9 and my iPhone 14 (which has a very nice camera and stabilization). Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment.
You're in beautiful country, I'm about 4 hours from Beavers Bend and Broken Bow, my suggestion do a weekend trip to Beavers Bend and stay in a cabin that might give you enough to do a thorough review on Beavers Bend.
It is beautiful country and after going there for only one day on my road trip, you are correct and I want more. At some point I do want to go back, rent a cabin, and do some of the things that I talked about on the video. Thanks for the comment and for watching the channel!
@@findushere And maybe.. just maybe.. I might be lucky enough to run into y'all while at Beaver's Bend. We'll see about that though
I think that Beavers Bend is the best state park in Oklahoma, with Robbers Cave a very close second. For a completely different Oklahoma, go to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge in SW Oklahoma, just north of Wichita Falls, TX. I'm looking forward to next time. The Talimena Scenic Byway is amazing! I've stayed at Queen Willamina State Park several times. Arkansas has an excellent State Park system.
This was my first time at Beavers Bend and like I said in the video, I really want to go back and stay a few days and check it out more thoroughly. I am not at all familiar with Robbers Cave. I'll have to do a little research! Thanks for your support.
This area of Oklahoma looks really good. It looks a lot like western part of central Arkansas. I spent a lot of time as a child in the area around Grand Lake near Grove which is northeast of this region. Once you get 10 miles beyond Grand Lake that area looks a good bit more like the rest of Oklahoma. I understand why people would like the Broken Arrow region now.
How far is that part of Oklahoma from where you are?
@@findushere As the crow flies, it is about 250 miles. If you want good highways, it is about 375 miles. We are about 20 miles from the Louisiana border near the middle of the state on an east/west axis.
@@Jazzbeu55 You are farther away than I thought. I thought it might be an easy weekend trip from where you are. I'm still going to make it to your part of Arkansas one of these days. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
It is about 250 miles as the crow flies, but more like 370 if you want to travel there by major highways.
Woo hoo, another trip to Branson! I am looking forward to the upcoming videos on this trip.
Thanks Jazzbeu! This is the trip I took through Hot Springs and up highway 7 and back through Eureka Springs and Blue Springs. I have a lot of footage in and around Branson too, especially west of Branson this time. I'm thinking it will be at least 10+ videos. Enjoy and thanks for your support!
@@findushere I know that I will enjoy hearing your comments on all of those familiar places Highway 7 is quite an adventure if you have lots of time and two or more drivers in the car to take turns.
@@Jazzbeu55 I drove it all but we spent two days driving from Hot Springs to Branson!
Looking forward to the drive down the Talimena next time.
Not sure if we'll get to the drive next time or the next. I have lots of footage of Beavers Bend, Broken Bow Lake, Hotchatown, and the drive to the beginning of Talimena for the next video. Talimena will probably be its own video. Hope you'll enjoy the next one as well. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel!
@@findushere All of that will be interesting to see.
Love this video even though I have lived in Fort Worth for a long time. It's nice to see this. Taking a train ride from Fort Worth to Austin so definitely checking out that video. ❤❤
Thank you! A quick trip to Fort Worth was fun and the train trip back to Austin was a unique trip. I'm definitely going to do more of both! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@findushere Thank you. Just returned from my Austin Trip on Amtrak and it was amazing to have all of that reading time on the train.

Thank you for sharing
You are very welcome! It was a beautiful day to visit SDC. Thank you for watching and commenting. Be sure to check out parts 2 & 3!
Went for our first time a few weeks ago. We drove almost this same route without even trying. Such a blessing to see these roads and o it know realizing how blessed we were!
Glad you enjoyed Branson and got to see these places. Thanks so much for watching the videos and commenting on them!
Went for our first time. Loved it and will return. Made the mistake of using a ticket agent that was affiliated with a time share. Didn’t have a clue about that until we arrived and went to get our vouchers. Started very well then the guy started to try to get us to a time share presentation. I kept saying no no no. He tried to “comp” some of our tickets in order to get us to go. It got uncomfortable but I held up. Won’t do that again without knowing the ulterior motives. Beware but go to Branson!
Ouch!...unfortunately that's sometimes a problem in Branson like a lot of vacation areas. Believe it or not, it's much better than it used to be. It's really pretty easy just to call the theaters directly and make reservations. For most shows that don't sell out, you can just go to Branson 2 for 1 tickets, the purple building, and get half price vouchers and no time share! You have to do it in person though. I've used them for many years and saved tons of money. Glad you enjoyed your first trip and hope you will have many more. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you! Your video was/is so helpful. I haven't been to Branson in eleven years and it's nice to see where everything is located instead of just looking at a map. I'll be visiting next week.
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful. Branson has changed a lot in eleven years. I hope you have a great trip. Thanks for watching and commenting!
You're making Waco look better and better as a tourist hot spot.
Thank you! It really has become quite the touristy place especially for those of us who like to eat. Glad to hear from you! I'm about to start my road trip to Branson through Oklahoma and Arkansas series. I think you'll like it. Thanks for supporting the channel!
I very much enjoyed your 3 part tour of the park. Although I've been there a number of times it is nice to see it from the camera's perspective. Thank you.
Thank you so much! It was a fun series to do and it was such a beautiful day to video. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!
Great video!
Thank you so much! And, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment.
He is so strong lol
And incredibly determined!
I painted Many signs back in the day on Branson. These days, Branson has went corporate and way Overpriced. The only thing enjoyable was looking at Branson in my rearview mirror heading back back home out of state.
Sorry you feel that way. It's certainly a feeling shared by others. I still love the place and enjoy the time spent there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Nicely done, thx for sharing your trip. Very informational and well narrated. :)
Thank you so much! I appreciate you not only watching but taking the time to comment!
Super well done video!
@@jmartinid Thank you so much! And thank you for taking the time to comment.
What a beautiful video! The music and your soothing voice create such a lovely atmosphere. We're planning to take the same cruise next year and would love to hear your thoughts. We have a room on the port side of the ship, just like you did. Were you happy with that side? If you don’t mind sharing, could you let us know what deck or room number you were in? Thank you so much in advance!
@@sdgdean Thank you so much! I am traveling in Las Vegas for the next few days and am using my phone to answer. We were on Caribe deck, I believe in 226 towards the front. The port side was fine but I think I would have preferred starboard. I’ll give you some more thoughts when I return home next week so keep watching. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@findushere thank you so much for the quick reply. I'm thinking of changing room to the starboard side, if possible. Looking forward to your further opinions. Good luck in Vegas!
What a wonderful video. We are booked on the Discovery Princess in September 2025
Thank you so much! I'm so happy for you that you have that cruise booked in 2025. I think you'll love the ship and the cruise! I enjoyed Discovery so much that I'm taking a Pacific Coast cruise on it in March of 2025. I hope you have a great trip. Feel free to reach out if you have questions that I can answer. Thanks for watching and commenting.
If you book a Princess cruise through the Tourism Maritime Service. Please tell me how to book in person and apply for an affordable and safe port of call tour without getting scammed, although it costs a lot
I have never heard of Tourism Maritime Service. Booking directly with the cruise line through the princess.com website is an easy way to do it. Once booked you will have many excursion options through their website and app. You can also use a travel/cruise planner who can do it for you. Do a little research and see what other people think before making a decision. I use Allison at Let's Go Travel Tips who has a very active UA-cam channel I would recommend. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Last week, I went on a Discovery Princess cruise to Alaska from September 6th to 14th. It's a shame that the time was short. The video reminds me of where and what was. I couldn't use the pool because it was cold to Alaska, but I want to ride it again. Cruise is a trip I want to try often. If I don't do it, I'll regret it.
So glad to hear that you went and enjoyed the cruise. The weather is pretty unpredictable this time of year and can definitely be cold and/or rainy. This video was filmed about this time last year and I just went with an open mind and determination to roll with it. I loved it and the time aboard was way too short. My next cruise is coming up in a month. Keep cruising! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Thank you for sharing. Going to Forth Worth and want to find BBQ to try. Is Coopers a place to visit if in the area for a few days?
You're welcome! I love Coopers as you can probably tell from the video! All of their locations follow the same formula so although I've never tried the stockyard location in Fort Worth, I have no reason to think it would be any different. Thanks for watching and commenting! Come back a let me know what you think of Coopers if you get a chance.
Been coming to Branson from Minnesota since 2000. Most years in July. Last year was September and now this year we are going first part of October. We have slowly been spreading out to see the attractions away from town. Last year was Dogwood Canyon. A piece of advice for new comers to see shows, leave yourself travel time and try to make your turns right hand off of hwy 76 strip. Left hand turns crossing the busy road can be trying. The maps show the green, red, yellow routes very well, but may not be as straight and direct as they make you think. We take back roads from our timeshare to Hollister and the Landing , it’s a fun drive with many curves, hills and overlooks.
These are some great pointers! If I'm actually trying to get somewhere, I just avoid the strip. There are so many choices now compared to the "old days" and the crowds are more spread out with everything not centering around just shows on the strip. You are so right about the routes not being straight though! Hope you have a great October trip! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Ketchikan looks very ordinary. Attractions being bars and restaurants which you have on board. Why stop there?
There are certainly a lot of commercial kinds of places there but there are also things like historic creek street, the lumberjack show, the salmon run when in season, and many opportunities for wildlife and scenic daytrips to Misty Fiords National Park nearby. There is also opportunities for locally sourced salmon and other seafood in restaurants there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Going in October. Thanks for the tips!
You're welcome! Hope you have a great trip! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I love living history types of attractions. This one will be going on the list. Thanks!
Yes I think you would love this place. It's like living history. I can spend hours there. There are things there that remind me of Silver Dollar City but they use it to sustain a lifestyle. Thanks for the comment!
Wow! The Princess line went right in there up to the glacier. We were on Royal Caribbean Quantum of the Seas, and the captain said he decided to turn around before even coming within a glimpse of the glacier because it wasn’t safe. I just read a blog where a person complained that the staff (same cruise line, same ship) knew that the ship wouldn’t go near the glacier because they never do. The person who was complaining said this was false advertising and had a number of complaints about RCL, which resonated with us based on our experience.
Wow that would have been disappointing! I have heard from others that if it was foggy or there was lots of ice they wouldn't go in there but I felt like we got pretty close for such a big ship. It was a perfect day as you can tell so that was a contributing factor. This was in September so there may have been less ice than earlier in the season. Also keep in mind that many of my shots are zoomed in so we're not be as close as it seems but certainly close enough for a nice view. It certainly lived up to my expectations. I've been on several glacier tours on the small boats you see at the ports and that is the way to really see them. They go right up in the ice and very close. Those are great tours. Thanks for watching the video and taking the time to comment!
I like your video very informative. Thank you. Plan for October trip to Branson coming from suburb SE of Phoenix.
Thank you! I have 50+ Branson videos on the channel if you're looking for ideas on things to do, shows to see, places to stay, and places to eat. Hopefully you can find something helpful if you're interested. Is it your first trip? October is a great time to visit. The weather is getting cooler and the leaves are changing. I hope you have a great trip! Thanks for watching and commenting.
I was just there a month ago! The pecan pie is superb. They have a nice country vibe in there.
Yes it is! It is great food with a great atmosphere. Thanks for watching and commenting!
What month was this?
Last half of September. It was cool and rainy but still an enjoyable cruise. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I am surprised at there being so many and that they are so colorful.
Yes they are quite plentiful and although this was a good year, there are usually many. My next two videos from the Texas Hill Country are even more so. At one point the bluebonnets are so numerous that it's hard to tell where the bluebonnets stop and the lake starts. Thanks for your support!
I love the spring wildflower season! Thanks!
So do I as you can probably tell! This was a very good year. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
I'm New to your channel? Now in CA. But from MO. ! But just now watching your video with the Rain and beautiful scenery? Has got me'a thinking bout moving back to the Ozarks to retire! And if I do? You will have been a big part of me doing it ! Thanks again ! CP. Ps. I'll be in touch!

You are definitely a professional videographer. This hast to be the best I’ve seen on Alaska. Good enough to be on PBS . The commentary was fantastic, and the music was first rate. Brought back memories of Rick Waksman’s synthesizer. Well done 🤠
Thank you so much for the kind words! I appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment.
What an interesting walk. I haven't been down to the river walk in over two decades. As I'm not a fan of crowds, I can see I won't be making a return visit during spring break either. Thanks!
Thanks! Spring Break is definitely not the time if you don't like crowds! Fall is usually a much better time. I have seen it then when you could just basically get right on the river boats. It's still a fun place with great places to eat anytime though. Thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
Thanks for the great video tour of this interesting place. I have heard people talk about the river walk, but only saw a handful of photographs. As I watched, I thought that I will probably never vacation there, but that I would love to catch a professional conference hosted in one of the hotels there. It would be a great place to explore between conference sessions.
You're welcome! When I was working in education, we had conferences there pretty often and it was great for that. There's lots of good food and lots of places to explore in addition to the River Walk. Thanks for the comment! Hope you can make it down there one day.
