  • A look at the analog tire inflator from Astro Pneumatic tools. Officially this is marketed as the "Astro 3082 TPMS Dial Tire Inflator." This was purchased as an upgrade to the more traditional pneumatic tire chuck. This is good for up to 200psi from the compressor to the tool, and reads from 0-65psi on the dial. The dial is easy to read, and has no batteries. Nothing against the digital version of this tool (model #3018), but I prefer to minimize batteries in my garage.
Find it on Amazon (affiliate links):

Thank you for this excellent review! It enlightened me as to the existence of an analog alternative to the digital Astro Pneumatic 3018. Out of curiosity, do you still own this tool and has it been giving you good service? Have there been any issues with this product that you would care to update your viewers on? I'd appreciate your input before I go ahead and purchase this product.
One suggestion I would make to improve this video review would be to modify the title to reflect the correct model number of the product. It should read "Astro Pneumatic 3082 Tire Inflator" and not "Astro Pneumatic 3081 Tire Inflator". When I searched for the 3081 tire inflator, I find it to be a similar yet different product that has a gauge which reads up to 180 psi. I find that to be excessive for a shop or DIYer that deals primarily with sedans, SUVs, and light trucks, since most of the pressure readings typically encountered would be confined to the lower sixth or third of the unit's pressure range. Interesting that the 3081 actually sells for less than the 3082, despite its higher pressure capability!

It still works great, has taken a couple of falls too and is till accurate. I love the lack of batteries and large easy to read numbers. In my opinion, there is no need to over complicate this with batteries which will eventually need to be replaced and could leak damaging the electronics. Not to mention the companion need to keep extra batteries in your tool box, and needing to remember to restock those batteries every so often.

I can't say for certain, but I think it's a safe guess that the two are unrelated.
