This craft hack video was bang on! The lint roller, tape and glitter was awesome, cause you get to re-utilize the glitter on another project, without so much mess. Love tips. : )

you’re hardly saving anything from landfills in the scheme of things, you saving 5 or 6 jars and a few paper towel rolls isn’t doing anything

Instead of nail polish just press the thread end onto a candle with your thumb and pull it through. Faster and neater. Also, I use a lint roller to clean up thread snips when sewing 😊

Some hacks i ready knew but those yugurt cups make it easy to mix small amounts of paint. I save those plastic drink cups to start plants in the spring as they also are like a green house when placed in a sunny window. 😊😊😊

Hey, you are the bomb when it comes to up cycling!!
I love the finger nail polish on the thread hack!! And the packing tape on fabric to cut out a shape..brilliant! Can’t even count how many times I re-cut a piece of fabric because it was lopsided or whatever! Thanks for sharing. I’m saving this one and putting it where I can get to it easily. 😊

I would rather use some school glue to stiffen a thread end. No nasty fumes to avoid breathing in, especially by my little fur baby, & DRYS much faster. 11:42 Nov. 9, 2023

I also use the lids for standing my glue gun in. Using the lint roller to keep the jar was a new one to me. Your right about using jars to store craft supplies in. I like jar’s because you can see what’s in it. And they come in so many sizes and shapes. Even colored. Thanks for the reminders.

We get those laundry pods for our laundry in the large plastic containers. The empty containers make great storage containers for craft supplies. They also make great substitutes for yarn bowls (those fancy bowls for keeping your yarn contained when crocheting or knitting). I just cut a hole in the lid big enough to thread the yarn through, drop the yarn down in the jug, thread yarn through hole, replace lid and I'm good to go. No more worries about the yarn trying to escape, plus it stays clean and dust free (and away from playful pets).

Great hacks! Just bought a paint palette though. Dang it. I'll have to remember to save my lids. I like the baggie idea.. instead of wasting good paint.

The packing tape on the fabric is a great idea! I think it would be an added bonus to use it on the backside of the fabric so it could stay on to give it added "strength" for future craft projects. I would also add a very small amount of fabric glue on my finger then run it along the edges to hopefully stop fraying. Lastly, I would use a Sharpie to draw (on the taped side) all the shapes I want to cut out. If you have several flat edges, you can align them to only make one cut for that edge.😉 ❤

Most of these I already do… however, using a ruler to “draw” straight lines with glue? I’d not thought of doing that. Thank you for the reminders!

Of course, you know, you always have cereal box or oatmeal box. You can use that and that's what I use. And I put wrapping paper on and then go back and leave one side white and then do my writing on it makes it nice

These were good for beginners. It was good information to build upon and make even better. I'm sure it got the wheels turning on what else can be done in regards to hacks like this. I use book rings from DT to hang my stencils. This way they aren't being damaged by a clamp. I hang them from hooks in my craft room so they are always in view and easy to access. I usually separate them by season or put all of the flower stencils together for instance. You can place them in a Ziploc bag, take a small piece of duct tape and place it on a top corner of the bag, use a hole punch on the piece of bag and duct tape, put the book ring through the hole and hang.

When making beaded jewelry I like to use dental floss for the thread. It's strong and you can find it cheap at the dollar stores. Your suggestion of stiffening thread with nail polish, I found that it does a great enough job of stiffening the thread (or dental floss) that when threading beads I can skip the needle altogether (which comes in handy for those beads with tiny holes).

When you are all about saving material and upcycling, why are you cutting pieces out of the middle of your fabrics and papers creating more unusable scraps?

I will sometimes use a jar lid as a pallette but mostly I just use the paint palletes I have had for years. It is so easy just to wipe out the paint with a rag and then clean them with soap and water.
