If you want to play as Shiva, you just have to lose a credit at the start of Stage 2. Then he'll be available as a selectable character. No special input needed.
even though Streets of Rage 2 had the best music but to me I like streets of Rage 3 better because you get like 4 endings if you do it right and in Stage 5 you got like four paths that you can choose from and if you keep on fighting and don't die you get a star powering up your attacks I thought that was really smart and you could do team attacks and special moves with the weapons but the only two things I hate about this game is that mr. X was a robot even though he was hard and I liked it that there was only 7 stages instead of 8 like Street Race 2 so yeah like 3 better because there was more stuff you could do in the game 2 only had one ending so yeah to me 1st Streets of Rage 3 then Street Rege 2 then Streets of Rage 1
+rayshawn howard I agree that 2 had better music. I'd play it everyday mostly for the music. I didn't like that it was a little easy. Maybe it was the amount of time I spent on it that made it seem easier. I really like the challenge in 3. No one seemed too OP. Loved the special moves they could do with certain weapons. Loved the branching paths/multiple endings. I'd rate 2 just over 3 but that's probably because of the amount of time I spent with 2 more than anything.
Mitendo Talks that's understandable I grew up with street of Rage 2 to I didn't play Streets of Rage 3 until 2009 February 10th when they released the Sonic ultimate collection with all the games and Streets of Rage 3 was on it and I just knew I had to play it and I fell in love with it and it became my favorite
Wow you played sor 3 really late I actually play the series backward 3,2,1 I played 3 over a friends house in 99 then my nephew got a Dreamcast in 2001 and I played sor 2 on a sega smashpack like a year later I got a genesis and play 1 on a 6 pack
Well, I use to rate them 2,3,1 because I have played Street of Rage 2 a lot more than the other 2. But as of right now I rate them like this 3,2,1 because I feel Street of Rage 3 is underrated and underappreciated. I believe that all 3 games had something special that the other didn't have. Sor 2 had the better music, a lot of stages look better, the sound is better overall. However, I appreciate the soundtrack of Sor 3 a lot better now though it's not better than 2 a lot of the tracks are a great fit for the feel, pace, and stages of 3 imo. The Japanese version of Sor3 is the more definitive version of the game minus the difficulty which is a joke even on very hard. However, here's why I like Bk3/Sor3 the best graphically I like it just much as the 2, the speed is much faster, mechanically the game feels and plays better minus the reduced power behind the moves like 2 had. The amount of depth the fighting system had was the best beat'em ups had to offer for its time. Which included: The ability to attack while being grabbed from behind( from Sor1) Team move from sor1(which also likes cooler than 1) The 3-star blitz move system A button plus a certain directional input to use all 3 blitz moves without having the stars available A button for your series attack ( good for quick knockdowns giving you good spacing when between enemies) A button for your back attack (good for the reason mentioned above) A Super meter to keep you from draining your life when using a special Running and rolling Also, being able to unlock and use Shiva, roo, and ash for the Jap version giving you more characters to play. Having multiple endings, all these things when you really think about shouldn't be overlooked when playing this game. I know this was long but I felt it was necessary to fully understand why I think this game is underrated lol.
When you run out of time for the final boss or just go on easy onto Stage 5 or don't save the chief in time actually it's not a different ending but it's the bad ending
Mitendo Talks Gaming you may be right... I am trying the codes because my game genie busted... but apperently after 25 years... my sega games still work like new.... go figure!! Thanks! I ended up getting super Dan and haven't lost a life yet.. I am currently trying to get to all the different endings now.. I am looking for the Japanese versions .. +Allie Bagz I’m so glad you were able to play again. It’s ironic that all this new “better tech” doesn’t last as long as the old stuff. As for Ash. I wish we got to use him. Any extra characters just makes the game cooler. Good luck on your journey through the game and your hunt to track down the Japanese version.
Yeah that’s right only 1-6 are available. I guess that’s because of the branching paths from Stage 6. They could’ve just called them 7a and 7b or something though.
@@zerosoma33 , I regularly beat SOR3 with all the characters, and most of the time I do it without losing a life. Sometimes, I die at the 6th boss (Jet) when I play with Zan. Blaze is quite balanced in SOR3. She has the longest jump kick, forward special attack, and throw attack in the game.
on that infinity combo you can do it with axel as well just do the first punch over and over again and never go past its a pain to get a hang of but it can be done heck any charader can do it but its just easyer with axel and shiva oh btw on the genesis version if you have a 6 button controller they got that punch for shiva preset up for it so you dont need to hit 2 buttons at the same time this is also true for the 360 version i beleave i do not know about the wii seeing i dont own one but if there is another controller tape for it try it with that see if that helps
