@@AvatarJian oh, wait, i forgot about the fourth! then there's actually been 4 cancelled ones; The original Battlefront 4 was cancelled shortly before Battlefront 3, i believe so the team could spend more resources on completing the prior entry in the series; Battlefront 3 was cancelled after LucasArts management changes, game delays & accusations of spending the game's budget on things they weren't supposed to; Battlefront: Online was cancelled sometime in early 2010, and, finally, LucasArts iteration of Battlefront 3, which we know next to nothing about, was cancelled sometime that same year, or in 2011.
Also modern day BF3, if you count the fact that an idea WAS supposedly pitched to a publisher, but was rejected.
I already knew something was off the moment I was offered only a "20% loyalty discount" when I already owned both games and you could still buy both games for much cheaper than the re-release.

Also, it's hard to find an electric car that doesn't beat the shit out of old muscle cars. This latest Battlefront debacle is more like getting a 1970 Dodge Challenger (with supercharger), but under the hood they swapped it with a Yugo engine - and the brakes and tires are worn to shit. Total bait and switch for a totally worse version of the same thing.

Played the original yesterday, found a server with around 30 people and it was very fun!
I miss the late 90s and early 2000s. We used to get good Star Wars games back to back, sometimes in the same year. Classic LucasArts and the game developers that they brought on like Pandemic or Raven were on another level. The best Disney has to offer are broken ports of old games, and mediocre games like the Fallen Order series that's stuck in a bubble and can't go anywhere interesting narrative-wise because the Disney sequels happen. The Star Wars universe has stagnated, and the games that once helped meaningfully expand the universe simply don't do that anymore.

I do think the Fallen Order games deserve more credit, I really liked them, but you're right that they can't do anything too interesting from here

@@apothos666 aspyr fixed the framerate problems.. but particles and effects are sometimes missing.
AI don't work alot of the times.
And the controles.the fucking controles.
After a few 360° turns and a checkpoint you are stuck with 180° left and right.
The good news is that the Dark Forces remaster is 9/10.
Also very shitty that you can not make PVE servers for coop and such.
It's not so much a curse as it is whoever holds the license shitting out quick cash grabs at every opportunity instead of making (or remaking, in this case) even half-decent games.
If only Nightdive handled the Battlefront remaster and Aspyre remade Dark Forces.
Didn't they allegedly use player-made mods without permission, as well? When are studios going to learn that they will actually lose more money with these crazy products? Or is it all budgeted in with the hopes the gamble pays off? 😡

This makes me so sad. As much as I want a Star Wars Galaxies 2. I know the modern gaming industry simply isn't able to make it. In fact, I'm starting to doubt the modern games industry can make ANY games anymore.
I always have a feeling that our technology(or the world in general) is going 1 step forward 3 steps back every for waking second, we're like back in the 1980s in this one.

I saw the discount they gave me for owning the original games, I think it was 27 bucks for the classic collection; I already modded 2 to hell and back with the same additions (and more) and really didn't need to purchase it in my opinion. Friends made fun of me for not wanting to buy it with them, but I guess I was right to not even bother lol, what a shitshow.

Also a curse that bf2 2017 finaly got good and they decided to no longer support it.
Yup the game had finally redeemed itself, and was getting very good with more content, the game was at its PEAK! And they abandoned it, decided to give up and throw away the plans they had for more content just so they could go work on BF 2042 instead......then even that game was a disappointment.
Reminds me of the game of thrones series, most popular TV show in the entire world for years and years (in fact, it is STILL frequently in the top 5 most currently being watched TV shows right now), then the Directors (Dan & Dave) decided they were bored and admittedly chose to RUSH the ending as fast as they possibly could to go work on some Star Wars movies against the advice of everyone and the author of the books the TV show was based on, they even shut him out and stopped letting the author come to meetings just because they wanted to rush the ending as fast as possible to go work on their Star Wars movies........well, those Star Wars movies got cancelled and NEVER even happened, because they were bored of that and wanted to do other things and couldn't time manage their projects properly. This lead to the most popular TV show in the entire world of all time getting one of the worst endings of all time.
Human greed knows no bounds. It's amazing how these companies and CEOs etc. will just abandon a golden goose egg worth millions, billions, with unlimited potential for more, just so they can go work on something else, which usually fails. It's like they've focused on quantity over quality, and they STILL fail at the quantity part......
@@nicklibby3784 agreed! Sake with game of thrones, ea wanted battlefield out as soon as possible so stripped bf2 of its staff and also killed it as they went on.
Huge dissapointment but who knows the collection will get better and than get put on life support when it finaly gets better. And get swbf3 and the cycle continues.
On the upside: it’s SLIGHTLY revived Battlefront 2 (ea).

Never forget they were working on the original Battlefront 3 (by LucasArts) and had it about 75% finished before Disney bought them and they had to throw it all away.

at least we all still have the old fashioned way with PCSX2 if nothing else? or getting the originals on PC ports (at least until they get pulled)? if more people would have just adopted the modding scene, we have software to get dedicated servers (or even just the P2P mod) and updated textures/models out there. we didn't need the remasters... as much as many want to support it, we just... didnt.
These problems have been a part of the entire industry nowadays.
But this time they messed with the Star Wars fan base. And we're some of the most protective and opinionated out there. Likely, this Battlefront spin-off will instate new government laws like the last one 😆
Seriously though, it's about time these devs or studios get SUED and face lawsuits. They use pretty, altered graphics for trailers and put all effort and resources into advertising and building up to get sales while ignoring the fact the game is completely broken buggy mess and is terrible.
It's kind of like a classic con man move, they promise all these amazing things, hype everything up, claiming it's the next best thing since sliced bread was invented, but they know they are selling you a broken product, and you will NOT find out until AFTER you have bought the product and given them your money, and once that happens they just run off trying to hold on to as much money as they can.
It's like blatant scam cash grab using a nostalgia bait trap.
If this was any other type of product, they would be completely sued. Imagine if Ford or Chevy car makers came out with tons of advertising building up hype for a remake/remaster of the old 60s, or 1950s Mustangs, or Corvettes promising they were going to be just like the originals with modern upgrades, nice and polished up, with better materials, so then thousands of people pre order it knowing it will be popular and sold out quickly - then when it finally arrived, it just a polished up turd, that doesn't run, dash gauges not working properly, wrong air fuel flow mixture, steering wheel out of alignment, sticky throttle pedal, rough on start up, and engine randomly dies (crashes) etc. Etc. then Ford and Chevy say "were sorry, were sorry, we promise we will fix classic Mustang/Corvette remakes it in the NEXT versions that we'll release in the coming months/years, and offer refunds now until then" (with limitations like only refunding if you've driven the car for less than 2 hours or certain amount of miles).
Ford and Chevy would be SUED into OBLIVION for advertising a remake/remaster of the classic Mustangs & Corvettes only to sell a totally broken, barely functional and almost undriveable version of the cars that is somehow wayyy WORSE than the ORIGINALS.
But for some reason....when the gaming industry does it. It's totally fine, in fact, it is completely expected at this point and acceptable in the industry to release broken, buggy unplayable games and take people's money for it. It's one thing to have a few bugs at launch, or maybe have some unforseen thing on a small scale that didn't show up in extenuous testing that they did their due diligence on & were not being negligent and then they go fix as soon as possible. But nowadays, they take people's money by releasung games with game breaking bugs, and tons of ridiculous glitches on a MASS SCALE to the point there is absolutely NO WAY they could not have known it was a problem if they did their *_DUE DILIGENCE_* and were not being *_NEGLIGENT_* in their practices.
"Negligence" is punishable by law for pretty much everything. Negligence is not an excuse in law, it is a explanation of what you did wrong. Negligence is failing to check vital important things (like checking parachutes before jumping or flying, doing pre flight checks in airplanes, doing quality control checks for cars, making sure guns are 100% unloaded and on safety before doing anything with them, if you fail to do everything you can to prevent a mistake, accident or failure then it is NEGLIGENCE and punishable BY LAW).
But for *_some reason_* the gaming industry gets away with negligence and is not expected to do their due diligence before taking people's money.
I NEED to know what's taking up all that memory. 60gb is insane.

Hey SaintMillion, I was looking into Hutt space planets for fan legends project and found one called Circumtore which was described on Wikipedia as an artificial 'ring shaped planetoid.'
There was barely any lore and further description on the page about it, and with the history of Boba Fett video you did a while back I was wondering if you knew anything about it as it was first mentioned in the novel The Mandalorian armor along with the shell Hutts that live on it.
If there is an in-depth description of it, is it like a Ring of Halo or something like if Saturn's ring had an atmosphere?

This genuinely sucks to see when you grew up with these games originally.
Oh well. I got a refund and I went back to the 2017 version and I'm having a blast at the moment.
Also, I have a feeling that the battlefront one load screens are not actually loading screens but a video. The reason is the sound issue AND that battlefront 2 loads almost instantly, whereas in bf1, it waits for the screen to finish its animation.
Aspire said the sound was wrong because it was overlapped and something in the code was causing it to alter pitch or something, much like all the other sound issues in game.

I guess unpopular opinion here, but I have been having a great time with the classic collection. They rereleased the games with multi-player. That's all it is. It's the same game as when we were kids, same bugs and glitches, and same exploits. I play on Xbox series S and I use to play on the Playstation 2 when i was a kid. So going from that to this, battlefront 1 has good multi-player connectivity now and I had very rare lag. I am always in a full game within 15 seconds of hitting join and I'm having a good time. As for Battlefront 2, I'm having the most fun I've ever had being able to play with friends again on there. Also the fact that on PvE instant action, I can play 32v32 instead of 16v16 is a game changer as well as play XL battles. It's freaking awesome. I feel like $35 for both classic games as well as dedicated multi-player servers plus all the bonus maps, bonus characters, and 32v32 option(that the previous console games didn't have) is worth it. You all were expecting some remastered version and it's not. It's a re-release and the amount of hate these games are getting are ridiculous.

This is such a bummer cause I've been singing Aspyr's praises since their KOTOR mobile port and MOSTLY great switch ports. I was hoping KOTOR II's jacked up port was just due to the original being a mess, but it seems that something inside of Aspyr has changed these last couple years

64 player servers isn't even a new feature, there are server in SWBF2 2005 that already have 64 slots.

I asked for my purchase to be refunded to the E-shop for the Switch version. Nintendo needs to remove it and so does everyone else until it is ready to release. The damage is done they have ruined what could have been awesome.

Not really if people weren't having problems, they wouldn't be refunding the game and leaving negative reviews if their game actually worked properly and they could have fun. Why would someone refund a game they are having fun with?
Not mention there is 1,000s upon 1,000s upon 1,000s of documented cases of people's games being broken and experiencing all these problems. ALL of my friends who got this game have been experiencing issues with it, and few of my friends can not even start the game without it crashing or can not even get into a server without the game crashing, and there's many other game breaking bugs/glitches too.
Maybe your anecdotal experience is good. But my anecdotal experience is bad. Anecdotal experience has limited value. And when we look on a *_Mass Scale_* it seems people are having issues & problems on a mass scale. Therefore people are not just copy pasting problems when we have 1,000s upon 1,000s of documented cases of these problems on a MASS SCALE.
the devs of the stolen mods literally proved the mods were in the game by reliably recreating bugs only they knew about.
I just want to lay the game but no servers.:(

Any computer that is 15 years old or newer will run these games perfectly fine on max setting. If you have a PC at home that's is newer than 15 years old, then you can easily play the OG battlefronts. With mods and everything. They are extremely easy & quick to mod. Simple to learn
@@nicklibby3784 I know, I've had them on Steam and before than on disc for PC since they came out. It still doesn't help PS4 players or Switch players though.
Personally, I planned on buying the collection for Switch because I liked the idea of portability, and I have no intention of buying a Steam Deck
Is it bad that before this even got released I somehow knew they would screw it up? I'll just stick with my modded versions of the originals on Steam/GOG that I've been playing for just under 10 years now. My expectations for new Star Wars content isn't extremely low but I'm always cautious and will never buy a pre-release of any new Star Wars game. Too many cases like this.
The funny part is the new characters were DLC for the original Xbox version. Also they used an outdated mod to implement said characters.

Oh no he hasnt went down the full rabbit hole on this it gets worse at least for bf2. TLDR They got caught red handed just trying to pass off using one of the total conversion mods as the entire remaster when called out before the game launched they promised to not do that then proceeded to do it anyways theres literally nothing new at all you're buying free plagiarized community made content from probably ten years ago if not longer being released in a nonfunctional state for a markup when theres a version with no comparability issues with modern hardware thats very easily modded THAT HAS HAD RESTORED FUNCTIONAL MULTIPLAYER FOR A LOOONG TIME THAT ALSO WORKS WITH THE TWO DECADES OF MODS AND MAPS. Its wild as hell i expect this kinda crap from bethesda not aspyr ive been liking the ports ive played and they've had a really good track record if im not mistaken. But yeah imo there was no over hype we all knew what to expect from finished games that literally needed no pc port they didnt even try to deliver
The port of Republic Commando they did is a absolute mess on switch. I also remember tons of controversy with the KOTOR ports and many many problems with them and they even abandoned fixing some of the stuff. So I'm not surprised. Just disappointed and completely genuinely confused at how they can fail so hard, so badly. Like bruh, modders did a better job doing it for FREE out of love and passion of being a fan. Meanwhile aspire with hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars and whole teams of developers somehow fail and make things worse.
And I thought the Sequels would do the most damage to my love of SW

Don’t throw Lucasarts under the bus. It’s their and Pandemic Studios game. The remaster is from Aspyr and Lucasfilm
There is actually one way to invert flight controls in bf2, under the control presets, the preset labeled “anakin” is uninverted by default. Select that, and then change the controls to your liking. The flight controls will now be fixed. Still sucks we have to use a quirk with the presets to turn off a toggle that should just be in the game by default. Unfortunately this won’t work for bf1 tho, only bf2. I tested this on switch btw, but it should work on all platforms.

Someone actually was making it, with the leftovers of the 3rd game I believe......then Disney shut the whole thing down with threats of lawsuits & suing etc. because Disney claimed they were going to make a successor....then they didn't, they failed. Disney shut down a fan made sequel so they could, not make a sequel after saying they would make a sequel......
I'm lowkey confused why anyone bought this I feel like i could tell this was gonna happen within like 15 seconds of seeing it on steam after it was announced.

I went out of my way to purchase the Original Battlefront 2 after this whole dogshit debacle. Still runs buttery smooth and mods can make it basically exactly like this shit “remaster”
