Very nice to see how much better equipped these guys are compared to regular airborne, this is more like regular skydiving except they don't waste any time deploying their chutes.
Glenn McEnroe I know this comment is two years old but they open their chutes so early because this is a High Altitude High Opening (HAHO) Jump vs a normal High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) Jump
No it's nothing like regular sky diving. They don't jump with 60 kilograms of equipment that is extraordinarily heavy difficult to even walk with in the plane and unstabilises your flight, and the glasses fog up because you sweat and oxygen mask on gives a very clostraphobic feeling and pre jump nerves all adds up to be nothing, nothing like regular sky diving. But yes, spec ops have the shit. They have to. Much can go wrong and does
Our son did HALO jumps, Hes in ANC but its nice to view our brave your troops doing this. I took him to the Fl keys to jump before Jump school. I treasure that memory, No Fear!!

My Dad was a master HALO instructor. His instructor certificate has that he jumped from 30,400 feet and fell for 143 seconds before deploying, they were trying to beat the Asian HALO record but the plane could not get any higher, this was 1967. They were jumping in Thailand. One comment he made about the jump, "It took for ever to get down, over 2 minutes, I was getting bored, jeez when is it going to be over." When he retired he became a civilian instructor for the US Army HALO committee.

I had a business acquaintance that was a Green Beret. He would go missing for a couple of weeks every now and then and cone back to work with cuts and scratches some times. Some 35 years later he tells me a little about where he was. He was a Halo jumper and also had done the vertical extraction thing where the plane catches you and jerks your straight up then reels you in. He had does this back in the beginning of Halo and once he admitted to getting blown many miles into the wrong country. This was before we had good weather info and he could be dropped into a 100 mph wind they did not know was there. Poor guy had to steal a newspaper to figure out where he was and then walk 4 nights to get where he was supposed to be. What a huge help weather satellites and GPS must be now.

Notice that the USAF loadmaster / flight engineer was NOT wearing an oxygen mask. This jump was conducted below 12,500 feet. Looks like closer to 6,500 to 7,500 feet.
Probably 12,500.... As that's what's jumpable without extra paperwork. They jump the O2 for training.... Not necessarily because they need it at the time

Never posted this. Spent summer of 1983 at the Rome, Ga airport learning to skydive ( 18 years old). First jump course was $65. Used T-10 and T-35 surplus rigs. Around 15 jumps they let me move up to a Paracommander PC. Few on them then they let me use squares. First two on a square fine. Third jump jumpmaster didn't inspect me. Had put belly band throw chute on twisted. Got out at 5000 and having fun.Reached down and threw out at estimated 3500 feet( no altimeter on). Waited few- nothing. Looked - throw out chute inflated but hung apparently. Yanked on it a few seconds- looked down- Jeezus!!! Pulled reserve- covered my face with arms. Jesus heard me as reserve opened at estimated 200 feet. Three second canopy ride then mother earth welcomed me with ass kicking hard landing. Everybody ran out to me- some of 'em crying. New nickname-Too Low Joe. So NOBODY tells me shit about a HALO as I probably have the record.
Well video was invented before 83, and sport jumpers had video by then. AFF is pretty much hands off by jump 4 or 5. Isn't HALO at 30k ft, O2 required.
A55tech yeah if it was a Halo jump even the crew would have cold suits and mask absolute no breathable air up their . those mask are for them to be able to communicate on radio in case they see something bad stear away from the situation. are if well whatever that came up . they help a lot you couldn't hear crap if you didn't have them but I can see oxygen could be pumped in ...

THE ULTIMATE yeah that’s funny cause we still made you our bitches, not only that we gave up the British empire ourselves and because all you Americans can get beaten by a bunch of rice picking farmers in Vietnam, I’m sure we can do it again considering you call in our special forces whenever there’s trouble. Good try though.
THE ULTIMATE also liking your own comment doesn’t make it any better.
@@obi-wankenobi9187 Yeah sure. Whatever floats your boat😂 This dude said they made us their bitch but we are still here being the most powerful country in the world. Lol your military is not even second or third powerful. Its ok man your country is now a shithole taken over by Muslims. So fuck you and your Islamic ass country
I’m a Former Force Recon Marine and in my opinion The Special Forces are probably the most professional and efficient.
I agree. Im former 25 ID and think SF are like Ph.d's who can kill you. Plus they are almost exclusive NCO's which gives them a lot of years in green to develop. Unlike the SEALS, a soldier cannot go directly into SF. You have to have served already before you can get in.
Of course they’re are they’re not mirco managed like the regular force….things like uniform and appearance don’t matter to them only getting the job done is the priority and that would make anyone more efficient
I hope these guys have fun during these jumps. They sure as heck have earned it.
Salute to this men in uniform so brave to jump in high altitude that looks so relax..and their faces so calm..
Our military is so badass
That's why we always have enemies lol.
iller mills But you are in massive debts to China , poverty level and jobless people rise but your government still spending mountains of money on weaponry
they can stop all foreign production , meaning no iphone and probs most of the man made things in the world but they might not , cuz it is owned my companies not government
ahh , u see you said right now , they already have 1 aircraft carrier so they can either buy more or make more , plus right now China is trying to take the southern asia ocean back
which is one of the key point in america's strong point in asia
The 2600 Dislikes Failed Basic...
As cool as it gets. Army SF are silent professionals.
Do they have issues with PTSD though?
@@josephlawndale6065 I believe they are closely followed up by psychologists if they've been in hairy situations. But remember that these guys are trained to expect anything and as they operate often behind enemy lines, they are the attackers and they have the mentality of someone on the offence. It's often those that have to defend a position or being caught in an ambush that will need PTSD therapy later.
Fighting soldiers from the sky these brave men who jump n die.
True that, the citizens comments express more awe, than understanding. Thats 5 miles, and most remarkable when you jump in the dark.......and nail it.
Thank you for not putting music over this.
Airborne Medic....... I had so much weight on me....... I always spun out off the door.... to then bicycle pedal my butt off.
Good old days.

Man that sucks. Never had a problem. I had a heavy ruck too. Commo. Batteries, and a sincgar radio. However you spell it. I always pronounced it singars anyway. Lol. We were right next to repel.🙏🏿👍🏿✌🏿
Hell yeah 82nd airborne 🤘
I know they always say, today’s army isn’t your dads army, but I’m excited as hell to join this legacy come 7 April.
This one is HAHO not HALO that's why they open their chutes earlier. These guys are SFs as well so definitely they are better equipped than the 82nd.
I'd never seen something like this, it's just incredible amazing, this people deserve all our respects and gratitude..just better than movies
what a rush. it goes against your instinct not to jump, you're human, you cant fly....lol.
I'm a former Submariner, but these paratrooper guys are hardcore! 👍🏻

Funny as there are some comments on how calm everyone is. Wonder what they would say as we used to fall asleep waiting for our stick to go.
I am a former grunt. Thanks to your dad. A badass!
This is what my dad did back in Vietnam. He was a Captain in the 10th Special Forces Group.
+TheNerdLord was your dad ever at Flint? If so, when?

This was like watching my old school G.I. Joe's come to life, those guy's with the masks look awesome! I am a civilian who was to selfish and chicken to join any branch of the Military when I was young enough because I didn't fully understand what It really meant and what they did for us. Today I am a different person and you people that are serving and have served have my utmost respect and I would like to thank you all and your families for the sacrifice you make for us and for those that have made the ultimate sacrifice ! Son of bitch
LMAO... hopefully he remembered. He was having way too much fun
Football? Nah, no thanks, I'd rather watch these SF units perform. Such athleticism, conditioning and dedication! So much trainning leads up to a jump like this, it's just amazing what these men do. Go Army!!
There's something about that sound that is comforting... Can't explain it...
101st Airborne Screaming Eagles!!

2:30 Great, but minor detail of the last jumper counting the chutes of all other jumpers before making his own.
He was counting to make sure the pilot wasn't one of them jumping.
Not necessarily because they need it at the time
SoulMcCrusherton Really, what have you done that's so great. Unless you have done the same thing or something better show some respect unless you're parents failed at raising you that bad because it's pretty apparent they failed some by you're trash talking.

Sounds like a myth with no video evidence.
Well video was invented before 83, and sport jumpers had video by then. AFF is pretty much hands off by jump 4 or 5. Isn't HALO at 30k ft, O2 required.
This is an urban legend, I've read it on UA-cam many times
Sure- ask any old time Georgia skydivers who were at the High Sky Parachute Club in Rome,Ga summer of 1983.
