Thanks for the info. I might go on Amazon and try the stuff that seals auto gas tanks as recommended below. My fount seperated at the bottom seam and I want to make sure the repair will hold. This is my first time reconditioning a Perfection heater and I too am finding it almost impossible to get the top to unscrew so I can replace the wick. Thanks for this video and the comments below!
I picked up a mr. Buddy contractor series heater that has a large hole in the tank, this is just the information I needed. Thanks! I hope the jb weld is safe for the kerosene though.
I cant tell you haw many times I have ran into this and never picked one up at this time my family are trying to pinch pennies we cant turn on the central heater because are electric bill well be well over $250 all so when the snow comes here out side of Seattle the power gos out falling trees and such as long as 9 days mostly 3 days this is the best idea yet for heating are home time to hit up some rummage sales.

Hi, do you know what it's called? Thanks! Is this the right kind? www.amazon.com/J-B-Weld-2110-Metal-Repair/dp/B01IOPE65M/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2C5T44O4MH5H2&keywords=gas+tank+repair+epoxy&qid=1552080653&s=gateway&sprefix=gas+tank+repair%2Caps%2C175&sr=8-2
I want to change the filter on my kerosene tank but where the copper tubing comes from the tank looks iffy. What I mean is that I'm concerned that if I jostle the tubing while changing the filter it might cause a leak because I see significant rust in the area. Is there anything I can do short of draining the tank to do a repair? Thanks.
Same here. I am trying electrolysis. I have it in a bucket as I write this. I have 3 heaters I need to do this for. I wish there was a way to get into the tank to sand it or grind it.
Hello Mr. 00iceguy00. I just bought one of these heaters (525 Perfection), but the font has a huge hole on the side. Also, the knob that turns is frosen. Where can I get another font? Hope you can help. Thank you.

JB weld has a product specifically for tank repairs called TankWeld which is a putty and might be a bit more durable

Jb weld does not hold for long , you can purchase other stuff on Amazon that seals auto gas tanks and special putty to help with larger holes
