When I feel I’m good enough at fursuits, I’m going to open up for commissions. One thing I want to do is be open to multiple animals other than the normal cat, dog or angel dragon. I want to do animals like horses, reptiles, sheep, goats and literally any other animal.
That’s kind of all makers jobs haha, you wouldn’t be doing much unique unfortunately~ all makers make all species, they’re just not as common to have commissioned

Dont forget the Nit Picker. The one says the work looks fantastic, you send it. Then they complain about petty things like, glue used, thread colour, type of lining, perfect symmetry. (PS, not even YOU are perfectly symmetrical, let alone animals. We are artists not machines!!)
There's one guy I know who is a commission Miniature painter, and he had a guy who he thinks might have been a drug lord. The guy completely vanished a year ana half ago, and now the dude has no idea what to do with the minis.
Hi everybody! I'm new to the fandom, like 3 months new. These videos make it seem as if I could scratch together my own suit. Just a head specifically. I don't know how to sew, bad with matching colors and knot very artistic! Am I biting off more than I can chew?
Ok I'm busting my gut so hard right now on the Twelvie skit 🤣🤣🤣 it's funny because it's so true. Some kids today really believe all adults are stupid. Great job!
I make fur suits for people and I get a lot of people that say “I’m not going over 100$ it’s just a suit I can get at Walmart” I once went 18 days with no sleep to make someone’s super specific suit, I got it done but I ended up having to go to the hospital because I wasn’t eating nor sleeping because I didn’t wanna disappoint them because I have really bad anxiety I even need a service dog so when people say they won’t go over 100$, they won’t go for the price I say and they say they can just buy it at target or something when I work really hard on them!! So when people say that it really hurts customers have taken advantage of my anxiety after I tell them with stuff saying “I’m gonna be really upset!” Or “that’s not enough quality for this price your not really good so this price is better.” To the point my mom has to sit with me and tell me if there taking advantage of me, even my service dog would notice!
Aw you work so hard ! I just finally found my fursuit maker who was so sweet and I just paid him 380 dollars! Which i think id amazing, I didnt butter him up or anything he was just being so nice. Im so excited eeek!
"Hi I am 21 can I please have a black fox with wings and her name is shadow luna claw and shes a princess thats all powerful and a demon." -actual request i have seen
This is super helpful and super relatable!!! People like to flip around my tos I’ve had clock watchers too especially when I’m slammed with commissions they ask for a wip every hour of every day
Oml I got a twelvie who said she was 48 and wanted a digi suit. she stole her moms ID.. then her mom got a hold of her phone and told me all about how she was lying, the kid got their phone back and said “sorry that was my brother” messaged me a month later asking for a partial I was like NOPE
Omg no.10 is so annoying! Like they just want you to replicate another makers style, it's a little insulting as it feels like they are disregarding your style. Even picky customers can be quite annoying too, or ones that ask a ridiculous amount of questions,,, like a few questions is okay but when they ask questions about tiny things it can be alot to handle..
When I was 10, I really wanted a fursuit. so I asked my dad if I could get one. He said maybe and my child brain reconstructed it as a yes. So I asked for my dad's email so I could contact the makers. (The makers were "Mugiwara Cosplay".) I contacted them without reading that commissions were closed...
I'd really want to comission a fursuit (I'm not even a furry - I just really want a costume/fursuit because they're awesome lol) but there's no way on this earth I could afford one lol. I'd want to make one//something similar (as in a cosplay in the style of a fursuit) but I don't have the skills or enough money to get the materials
This is really helpful! I'm starting my own fursuit business and I think it's good to know what people can try to do. And another thing too, what happens if your making suits and your under 18 and people don't take you seriously. Can I get someone else like a friend that's older than me to deal with product pricing?
Honestly, I started fursuit making before I was 18, as did LazyLupe and Wild Dog Works, Creature Costume Creations, etc. a lot of people do. Most people who commission you will not know your age unless you tell them, so I don’t see a reason why that should matter~
What if your only 13? This might be a problem but hopefully no one will suspect anything cause I'm super tall. And how long did it take you to start getting, well, "good" at fursuit making? Also love your videos ❤️
And I am the butter spreader. But I do not request special treatment. I just love the makers. !!BONUS!! "How dare youuuu!!!" Starts chuckling you couldn't help it could you.
If you want a specific feature, like a shorter snout or type of tail, would it be ok to send your maker ref pictures from other makers just to illustrate the kind of thing you're trying to explain, or does that fall under asking for a different maker's style? I got a small dog sona and if I were to suit, I'd want a shorter snout on her, but I don't see a lot of canine suits like that, and would wanna make sure my maker didn't have to revise too much to get what I wanted 😅
I dont see a problem with staying firm with your prices you have to make a profit and if the person truly wants a high quality suit made with your style than they should accept your price and save up until they can afford a commission from you because you have to make a profit as this is your livelihood not just a hobby and you need profits to continue making suits and to be able to live your life. Artists dont work for free. And on top of that ive found dozens of makers whose pricing was more than fair if not an incredible bargain for the quality of their work so if you are inpressed by the quality workmanship of an artist tips are very appreciated and can really help to assure an artist that they are doing great for their customers and helps them to feel inspired to take more commissions and grow their business as well so positive feedback can definitely help an artist as well
They are a lot of money but... people spend so much time and put so much effort into their fur suits so if you are going to buy a fur suit from someone and then think the price is way to much then think about all the time and effort they have put into it :)
Hi, Baltomire here! Absolutely you can. That’s called artistic liberty~. I know Skye usually gets an artist to help design the character and then gets it approved by the commissioner, so they end up getting a ref anyway~
as long as u dont ask for anything can u be nice cause i like to be nice to them because there working on something for me takeing there time out of there day
Just wondering what is an acceptable time to start asking for updates? I bought my suit and I asked like once a week 😬 I feel like I was sorta asking too much lol, also I deal with the ghost so much! Especially with dino commissions most of the people commissioning/ trying to commission were minors, there were some people that bought the quote item and then asked for a mini partial when the quote price was base price 😫 that was such a pain, they said I was fraud when I clearly said contact me before buying and do not buy CLEARLY in the description. I just gave them a refund because I’m not about to deal with a whole court case
Hi skyehigh studios! If you see this, I’m a big fan! I love furries but I’m too young, when I’m older I really wanna do furry conventions! I’m also working on my first fursuit head and I used your tutorial! Also ty for that tutorial! It helped me so much!

I recently got screwed over by a paypal refund. The customer was awful. ALSO to top it off, an etsy purchase of a head got lost in the damn mail and I'm getting no response from the buyer. It's been a bad couple months for me as a maker.
I had a fursuit customer want a digigrade dutchie, and half of the suit was done when all of the sudden, they said they wanted to cancel the order and all of that hard work had to be sold as a base SO ALL COMMISSIONERS MAKE SURE YOU WANT THE ORDER IT IS VERY RUDE WHEN YOU CANCEL THE ORDER it is also a waste of resources

Great tips you're giving by the way, these are all the correct ways to deal with these kinds of costumers, I also had to learn the hard way!
Amazing video I love you so much and I love your suit and your style!!!!
Happy Halloween from yesterday (cuz Halloween was yesterday) 🐴❤️
Dont forget the Nit Picker. The one says the work looks fantastic, you send it. Then they complain about petty things like, glue used, thread colour, type of lining, perfect symmetry. (PS, not even YOU are perfectly symmetrical, let alone animals. We are artists not machines!!)
I've been wanting to do commissions for a while now, and I'm starting to practice art. This video is really helping to plan things out!
I am glad to find this channel and hope to make fursuits
Ok I'm busting my gut so hard right now on the Twelvie skit 🤣🤣🤣 it's funny because it's so true. Some kids today really believe all adults are stupid. Great job!
You forgot a very important one. the creep aka a customer that flirts with you...
This mostly happends with art commissions of an adult nature tho
0:36 yass I love invincible ncs release!!!!
Can relate, so freaking hard.
THANK YOU.
Wait did u make ur suit I’m new and a new fan!
Ps.♥️love ur suit!
"Hi I am 21 can I please have a black fox with wings and her name is shadow luna claw and shes a princess thats all powerful and a demon." -actual request i have seen
Sky: your suit is 2,000 dollors
cheap skates: HOW ABOUT 60
Sky: no.
This is super helpful and super relatable!!! People like to flip around my tos
I’ve had clock watchers too especially when I’m slammed with commissions they ask for a wip every hour of every day
Ugh 😑
8:03 moldy Colour bark 🥺🗣️🗣️🔥
When I was 10, I really wanted a fursuit. so I asked my dad if I could get one. He said maybe and my child brain reconstructed it as a yes.
So I asked for my dad's email so I could contact the makers. (The makers were "Mugiwara Cosplay".)
I contacted them without reading that commissions were closed...
I love when kids say there 18, sometimes they need to be like 13 but there like, I’M 18!!!!
I’m twelve and I do fursuit commissions and I didn’t no how to deal with some customers so thank you!!!!!
You seem cool, wanna be friends?
(Not there to ask for a free suit, I looked at the people you subscribe to)
I’m twelve too but I haven’t opened public commissions yet :3
Also love your videos ❤️
well hopefully in 2020 I can commission you for a fursuit because by then I will have enough money saved up and finally have midnight be midnight
Rodolfo Da Silva Garcia lmao
2020 anyone?
Wellllll
@@zenitsu_the_dorito2402 Yes, the dreadful year 2020! we all live in it now :(
How's it going?
The twelvie is not like me stoppppppppppp XD that killed me
And I am the butter spreader.
The last one is very relatable.
You mean the bonus one after the outro? Yes, cute and would DEFFINELTLY happen in real life. XD
honestly, i'd be happy with any fursuit that looks like my fursona-
i wanna make a fursuiit so bad but i cant lmao
Question
If someone doesn't have a ref sheet
Can you ask the maker to let his imagination go loose?
Hi, Baltomire here!
Absolutely you can. That’s called artistic liberty~. I know Skye usually gets an artist to help design the character and then gets it approved by the commissioner, so they end up getting a ref anyway~
Awesome! That’s great to know thank you ^^
as long as u dont ask for anything can u be nice cause i like to be nice to them because there working on something for me takeing there time out of there day
Just wondering what is an acceptable time to start asking for updates? I bought my suit and I asked like once a week 😬 I feel like I was sorta asking too much lol, also I deal with the ghost so much! Especially with dino commissions most of the people commissioning/ trying to commission were minors, there were some people that bought the quote item and then asked for a mini partial when the quote price was base price 😫 that was such a pain, they said I was fraud when I clearly said contact me before buying and do not buy CLEARLY in the description. I just gave them a refund because I’m not about to deal with a whole court case
Depends on your makers turnaround time and what they say~
Hi skyehigh studios! If you see this, I’m a big fan! I love furries but I’m too young, when I’m older I really wanna do furry conventions! I’m also working on my first fursuit head and I used your tutorial! Also ty for that tutorial! It helped me so much!
>w>;; oh dear... I think I might be a combination of 6 and 7. ^^; but that's only because of excitement for my new head being made and the maker actually deserves the praise because their work is generally AMAZING! ^w^
your work is just amazing! I love your style so much and your suits just look so soft! you are truly a god of creativity!
ya thought i was gonna ask for a free suit didn't ya? na, i'm. already a maker, and i'm a minor XD
Thanks for the video! 💯😎❤️
This was really useful I will commotion my first ever furauit in 1 month and now I know how NOT to be :D so thank you
Thank you sky this helps as I just sold my FIRST COMMISSION :D
that end was 👌🏻

*Vietnam flashbacks to grade 7*
I'm not a furry, but its hilarious hearing everyday things about furries...
Dude I love your fur suit.
I recently got screwed over by a paypal refund. The customer was awful. ALSO to top it off, an etsy purchase of a head got lost in the damn mail and I'm getting no response from the buyer. It's been a bad couple months for me as a maker.
I like Ino’s and your style the best
"I want eyebrows like pocari roo" pocari was made by Morefurless and they trademarked the movable eyebrows sooooo no.
They did not, lots of makers offer them
XD
I had a fursuit customer want a digigrade dutchie, and half of the suit was done when all of the sudden, they said they wanted to cancel the order and all of that hard work had to be sold as a base SO ALL COMMISSIONERS MAKE SURE YOU WANT THE ORDER IT IS VERY RUDE WHEN YOU CANCEL THE ORDER it is also a waste of resources
i usally ask for quotes for how much everything is before i ask for a comission to be made!
Well, well, I’ve been wanting a pink striped cat pursuit with feet paws, but I don’t have any of the materials so
