Guys I’m new into star wars, why is Thrawn one of the best villains?
Hyper-intelligent. part of what makes him a terror is he was designed as a "Sherlock Holmes" of the Empire. Thrawn gets mega-creative in his consistent victories throughout the book series, and though part of the Empire, he will recognize inefficiencies and those who can be taught to rise above their current station. He also studies cultures, and enjoys doing so through a culture's art expression.
And that voice of his! (Well his voice in the Audiobooks and Rebels. So smooth, dark and calculating. I can be evil but sometimes he will have an ounce of empathy.

Kinda weird that Thrawn would jump to the conclusion that Vader hated the mention of Anakin because Anakin was actually him, as opposed to Vader hating the mention of Anakin cuz Anakin was a separate person who Vader happened to hate.
It's almost like the authors had something in mind and they did mental gymnastics to get there.

Well he’d met Anakin on a mission before he became Vader and then went on a mission and met Vader himself, so he had a side by side experience to compare… safe to say most wouldn’t have that. It’s in one of his books. Really good read
