Nice ride Mike and Julie very well done, Julie certainly could have filled her boots with yee haa's in that first tunnel. Haven't seen a punch and Judy kiosk for years. Lovely area to ride in, fantastic views along with way. Have a lovely.
Gem Bridge over the river Walkham is a great new(ish) addition to the cycle network - it was never there when I was growing up in the house that’s just downstream of it in the valley! (And those hills are steep - as Julie nearly found out when she almost didn’t turn left at Mole Valley - Rix Hill, straight on from there, is an absolute killer! - it was my daily ride home from school on my BMX!) You went past my Mums house in Tavi, v funny to see it on here! Nice vid and yes, Dartmoor’s great!
I think it's great to see an area that you've ridden in before, on someone else's ride! We certainly found some steep climbs but some great scenery on this ride! I imagine it was a lovely area to grow up in! 👍Thanks for watching and commenting! 👌😊
Julie , I’m in my mid 60’s and have both full carbon e bike and me power carbon bike, I like them both for different reasons, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at what’s available in the e bike market, but as long as you are comfortable with what you have then that’s great. Enjoy watching your videos and the scenic routes !
Julie you don’t necessary have to be old to have an e-bike, some of us have ridden for years on a normal road bike but have other problems other than being old! So e-bike or don’t ride? Hum………know which id choose! Love watching your adventures 😊
Like the fact Mike wears non specific cycling clothing. I ride a mountain bike but would also ride the Drakes trail, forget the fact its mostly concrete, my mountain bike is the only bike i have so needs must. Oh, and its an e-bike, thought after my horrific motorcycling accident it would get me back out into the countryside and enjoy two wheels again without the pressure of failing on the hills until I'm stronger. All these rides you go i have to write down, google, then plan my own weekends away. Thanks.
The temps are getting back to double figures, nearly time for the Hawaiian shirt to make an appearance😀 Great to hear that the e-bike is getting you back out in to the countryside, I think they're amazing. Thanks for the comment 👍
Only a 10.2 mph average 😲 I'd be chuffed to bits to get a 10 mph average 🤣 Done parts of that ride myself and it is certainly spectacular in places. Devonshire is alright, but the people there do strange things with their cream teas - they put the cream on the scone before the jam, which is plainly weird 😵💫 Down here in Cornwall we put the jam on first which is of course, the correct way to construct the scone component of a cream tea 👍 See, told you they are weird 🤣 Good ride!
👍Cream teas...... I tend to have two, one with jam on first and then one with cream on first, can't offend anyone that way and they both taste great! 😉😋 It was a bit of an 'uppy downy' route this one, with plenty of lovely views! 👍😊
@@julie-wheelersatlarge Ah, a non-combatant in the cream tea wars then 😉 Very wise 😅 Oh yes, we do hills very well down here in the south west, both types - up and down, but the ups can be very ugly affairs! 😜
What a wonderful ride! I'm so jealous.
Was a lovely route this one Ken 👌👍! Quite alot of ups and downs! 👌
You two have some great places to ride. I'm so glad you take us along.
It's great to have you along Dan 😁👍🚴

Was a great area Terry! . A fair few hills to contend with though! Have a good week!
I’m in South Dakota in the USA, and I always Google where you guys are riding. Today I googled Brent Tor. 👍🏻❤️
Its amazing just how much info we have at our fingertips now. Thanks for watching and taking the time to learn about our little corner of the world 😁👍

We do... Mostly😁👍
Great video thanks!
I must say tho, it's nice to live in Plymouth so I have the climb on the way out to yelverton.
Yes, quite a workout to get to the trail from Plymouth but if you cycle in Devon hills must be a fact of life. Thanks for watching...

Thanks for watching us Peter, I'm definitely not saying no to an e bike, just not yet! 😉😊
