    I’ve been meaning to ride that trail from Princetown to the reservoir for ages, will have to do it soon. Thanks for the reminder! Always nice to do a lap of the reservoir as it’s flat….. unlike the rest of Dartmoor.

      That part of the ride was so different to the terrain we normally ride, we were so lucky with the weather. I imagine it would you'd be very exposed in bad weather there!🤔 Thanks for watching and commenting 😀👍

    Lovely ride - my home turf! I actually manage the land around the reservoirs here and Burrator is a reasonably healthy 48%. It’s the big one down here in Cornwall that I ride around (Colliford) that’s really in dire straits at 17%, there’s some pretty strange things starting to appear as the water drops. You can wade across it now! I do love that bridge - it was never there when I was growing up in Tavi, we had to go down the valley and up the other side 😮‍💨. Super vid as always.

    Ah now, which is more dangerous, sheep or cows? Sheep I've discovered can headbutt you in the plums with unerring accuracy (and I was only trying to help the damned thing as it got its head stuck in a fence...) , but mooeys have murder in mind and do kill people now and then as you mentioned Mike. Most dangerous of the lot though are flipping white van drivers as Julie discovered - Nice response though Julie 😁
    My nearest reservoir (Stithians) is now around 15% capacity I believe so we need rain desperately this winter or next summer we're in big trouble. Plus the hosepipe ban makes bike washing a pain in the backside!
    Fantastic ride that - Dartmoor has some superb walks, drives and bike rides, with some of the tracks having real ancient history to them, including the (apparently) haunted corpse or coffin trails. The history of some of these tracks, trails, bridleways and byways can be fascinating.
    Oh hello... full suss e-bikes on the shopping list eh? Was the bike you nearly bought in the Helston Giant dealer a full suss e-bike then? 🧐😁 Nothing wrong with e-bikes of any flavour in my book, had a go on a couple myself and they are an absolute hoot!
    Good video!

    • @julie-wheelersatlarge
      @julie-wheelersatlarge 2 роки тому +1

      You've not been lucky with sheep then Mick! 🤔😂
      I'm not a fan of cows myself, i tend to think that their eyes look far too manic and could charge en masse at any time! 🐄 🐂

    • @micks61
      @micks61 2 роки тому

      @@julie-wheelersatlarge No! Flipping thing had got its head stuck through a fence and I was trying to help it get out and it head butted me right in the unmentionables. That's gratitude for you eh? 🤣 Sheep crack me up though when they want to threaten you - they take a step forward, stamp a front foot and step back again (when they're not stuck in fences they do anyway...) It's quite comical to watch to be honest 😵‍💫😄
      Cows are lovely things, usually docile and very nosy but... they can be aggressive when they've got young'uns about and definitely will charge at people and dogs so it pays to keep an eye on 'em alright!

    Would’ve ticked but for two reasons.
    1. Editing was ‘sketchy’….as someone who has walked most of the trail you cycled, I found myself almost getting dizzy with how you jumped back and forth along the Burrator to Princetown disused railway track, especially in between Kings Tor,Swelltor Quarry and Ingra Tor (??).
    2. As a proud Devonian (and you were in Devon)…it’s always cream first!
    Apart from that….it was alright.😂
    P.S I did tick the like really 👍🏻
