If you were late to the game on this 2 years ago, I am reaaalllyy! late. I actually came looking for exactly this: being relatively new to jj, there are terms like snippet roll, snippet strip that I would hear and hadn't seen one made. So thank you for doing this, and not assuming everyone knows. I love the idea of my scraps all being something rather than just sitting there.
Hi, thank you for being here and watching my video. I've learned that it is never too late for anything...except dinner, hehe. Glad you are starting a new Junk Journaling Journey, woohoo!
Snippet rolls became an addiction for me after looking at the stacks of catalogs build up. Inspiration to pull out staples and cut the pages into strips that I glued into longer strips that got rolled onto empty tp tubes are what got me started. Guilt about "waste"& "repurposing" what used to go in the recycle bin drove my actions. Your video popped up today! I'm so glad, even if my loved ones are calling me a packrat, it's good to keep more out of the landfills. I'm now a subsciber.
Thank you and welcome. I'm so happy you are here. Sounds like we are all about repurposing items. Lot's of junky bits have so much potential. I used up my snippet roll, too. Time to get started on a new one. I appreciate you subscribing. :)
I'm glad I found this video. I too wasn't much a fan of the snippet roll because of how most people make them. That's a lot of cutting strips. This has inspired me to try and tackle my 8 drawers of papers. I haven't created anything since my mother in law passed in 2020 but this video tickled that desire again. Thank you!!
Thank you for being here and watching my video. I'm sorry about your mother in law but I'm so happy that this video has inspired you to create again. 🤗
That is the biggest snippet roll I've ever seen! 😄😅 But when you use up your scraps it will inevitably be the biggest snippet roll. I forgot to mention you can use any scrap paper in long strips as a base or check thrift stores for the 10 key tape. Thank you for watching! 😘
The roll is so big 😅 I can see how easily it can get that big 😉 watching the process was so nice it turned out so pretty. Thanks for sharing your process.
So many things, so little time. I hear ya! Right now because I am also pressed for time, I am getting up an hour earlier just so I can work on the new Christmas journals before getting to my other work. I'd make and create all day, believe me. :)

Awesome! Can't wait to give it a try. I have been saving all my receipts. I have glued them together then used Washi tape to hold them together but I haven't wanted to start making it for some reason it hasn't been something I have wanted to do until now, so thank u for sharing how u made yours and your excitement has rubbed off on me. I will begin tomorrow if the GLW!! THANKS AGAIN!!!

Just watched this. Wow, I am going to make a paper snippet roll and honestly I just began sewing on paper this week. You were so delighted with the outcome, and it could be heard in your voice. Thank you for sharing this video. I am totally excited to try this now.
I lucked out and got 5 rolls of register paper for 3 dollars at a thrift store a couple of months ago. I started making a snippet roll today. It’s not as long as yours, but it’s long enough. I can’t wait to decorate it
That is lucky. I Love thrift stores finds. I remember binge watching a television show whilst making the snippet roll and then all of a sudden it was as long as Route 66. 😅😆😁
Lillian I absolutely love your snippet design! Like you I just wasn’t happy the it was being done! Wow!! I’m definitely going to try it and I will be thinking of you! When I play! Tyfs!
So cool!!! I never tried this either! And I don’t have a sewing machine…but I do have those rolls of paper!!! So, I may just have to give it a try, even without sewing!!!
Hi Ruth, sewing is optional. I'm positive you will enjoy this process. Plus, I'm certain you will come up with your own embellishment ideas. Thank you so much for watching! 🤩
Just now finding your channel. I'm about to get my first sewing machine and incorporate it into my crafting. And I have ALSO not "gotten" the snippet roll. But now I really wanna try it now that ol have a sewing machine. I wanna make an 8 x 11 type sheet that'll be covered with paper and fabric, sewn haphazardly and then cut into 1" strips then attached by the ends to make 1 long strip. Can't wait!!!
Hahaha Lilian I try to save the world one scrap at a time too lol. I think we are as bad as esch other with those scrap. I can't throw away one scrap of paper or fabric. Lovvvvve your snippet roll. Really gorgeous 😊💚

Hi Sarah! That's a great question. Parts of the snippet roll are cut to use as embellishments on other projects. The "snippets* are typically glued down. The stitching is added as embellishment to the snippet roll and is optional. If you're concerned about the stitching unraveling, adhesive or glue can be added to stop the thread from fraying. However, it hasn't happened to my projects because I'm adhering the snippets to other projects and if it did unravel a bit, I would not mind the "grungy" or "shabby" look. 😊 I hope this helps and you have fun experimenting with this great technique.
