1983-1985 where legendary music start aired.
Iconic news jingle, still used today, so nostalgic!
Ikr I remember it from as far back as 1989. Just came here to see how far back it actually went
Very good intro history!
RIP Peter Sissons - I know this is channel 4, but he will always be remembered for that burgundy tie moment when announcing the death of the Queen Mother whilst he was at BBC right?
Die Grafik ist besser und man sieht alles besser. Super! Danke.
5:11 was my childhood, I remember watching the news after The Simpson’s and Hollyoaks
Mine was the 3rd and 4th ones.

Amazing they went so many years without using the 'proper' Channel 4 logo.
Much the same for the BBC & ITV. It was only really the 90s where that sort of thing started and people became more aware of corporate identity.
@@MatgoStyles The initial Channel 4 logo was simpler to memorize and copy at painting classes, though my 'promoting' a foreign tv channel in my offering / doodling at such classes was criticised by other pupils who were more accomplished in their artwork. A lot of TV graphics of the time was relatively simple, without any photos, until the 1990s dawned
Interestingly, that logo was actually meant to replace the 1982 logo, but outside of Channel 4 News, it was never used.
Next Telediario,please.
Sounded like Paul Coia made the announcement for C4 news, the first version. For some reason the initial version of the C4 news intro theme music was used for less than a year as far as I remember, with the replacement being better known, but this occurred with many TV productions including 'Only Fools and Horses', 'George and Mildred' and 'Yes Minister'
Up until 2023, there was that monent when you were looking for the remote to change the channel after watching Hollyoaks, only to not find it in time and hear the Channel 4 News theme!
News on Channel 4 certainly evolved since 1982 , delivery , presentation good quality journalism even better . Loved the old quaint original studio set for a laugh compared to the new slick studio of today . Certainly got a lot better over the years.
Happy retirement Jon Snow.
I would love to see the compilation of news intros from Slovenian Pop TV.
1999 intro is so nostalgic for me.
The graphics of the 3rd one are pretty advanced for 1985.
ITV - ITN
Channel 4 - ITN
Channel 5 - ITN
We really need another news agency, it would only improve middle ground journalism.
5:15 where did you find it? And which year is it from
Next: Start focusing on Asian news intros; start with TV Patrol, Philippines.
Good for them for sticking with the shrill trumpets across five decades.
These headlines got more and more sensationalist as the year's went on!
News programming on Channel 4 was and has always been good the only bad programme was The Channel Four Daily
2004-2007

Jon Snow wearing a gray tie!!!!!
1:33, drop matches the graphics :)
That theme song just like abc australia news
I'm australian but the current ABC news theme is stupid.
It was a disaster, and was only used for 8 months before they used the current theme
Wait a minute, ITV is the owner of Channel 4?
It was at first in 1982 then it became independent but under public ownership.
No, ITV has never owned Channel 4. Channel 4 is owned by the government (with safeguards for editorial independence).
Channel 4 News is made by a production company called ITN which also makes ITV news (and, for that matter, Channel 5 News). In the past, the different ITV companies owned ITN jointly, but it is now owned by ITV PLC (which also owns all the ITV licenses outside Scotland), the Daily Mail General Trust, Thompson Reuters and a company called Informa. At no point has any of those companies owned Channel 4. They own a company which has a contract to make news programmes for Channel 4.
"good bye... jon snow"
