Could you make a reaction video to the movies Jack Frost with Michael Keaton, Pleasantville with Toby Macquire, Fall (2022) with Virginia Gardner/Grace Caroline and Walk of Shame with Elizabeth Banks, underrated movies you will not be disappointed
This is the only film that remotely dives into Hulk’s origin and psychology that the MCU ignores. How his mind is broken because of his dad. Bruce grew up emotionally distant, he has various Hulk personas that represent his repressed emotions. His struggles is a journey of self control to not harm anyone, that’s an inspirational for any boy growing up.
Ang Lee's Hulk got Bruces tragic childhood right. Along with the transformation. Most importantly, we got to see every time he got mad stronger and bigger he became. This is the true hulk
I feel like this version actually does get the overall mass right, but Hulk's vocals aren't limited to roars and growls. He may not be the definition of intelligent, but he is able to speak. And I also love the way they actually animated the bullets bouncing off his skin.
Before we got Mark Ruffalo and Edward Norton, we got Eric Bana. He did a good job portraying as Bruce Banner and the Hulk. The CGI model on the Hulk was excellent back in the 2000s.
The scene of hulk releasing all his power, was amazing and memorable. Also, this version of Bruce's backstory was the most emotional of them all, they should've madd it the offical version of the MCU
Actually, the Hulk being "too green" here is intentional. Part of the genetic alterations to Bruce included jellyfish DNA, and jellyfish have bioluminescence (they glow). So whenever Bruce turns into the hulk, the jellyfish DNA makes his skin really green and he kind of glows, basically.
Fun fact: in comics, Hulk was originally grey because some colors were too expensive. The grey Hulk then became a different persona called Joe Fixit who is still smart like Bruce and aggressive like Hulk. There are countless more in Bruce’s broken mind.
This film managed to recreate many references from the comics, for example, Bruce's traumas and repressed emotions, the GAMMA radiation accident that turned him into the Hulk, how he grows when he gets angrier, and his battle against the dogs in the forest, Unfortunately many did not appreciate it at that time, I like how HULK looks in this movie, They were other times in Marvel movies, without the need for CGI, it is one of my favorite movies!
This is my favorite Hulk movie. I wish that more reaction channels would watch this one. Thanks so much for watching and sharing your reaction with us all. Please watch the comedy Clerks. (1994)
This is one of my absolute favorite childhood movies. I love the attention to detail in portraying Bruce Banner's psychological perspective, especially through elements like the desert plants. I'm so happy that you watched this movie, and I hope you enjoyed it too.
without a doubt the darkest Marvel movie. was at risk of being Rated R for scenes of severe Trauma. this is a Hulk film for fans of Frankenstein and Godzilla the joker
I love this movie so much. Tobey as Spiderman and Eric as Hulk is what I grew up with. There are seams in both that I notice as an adult. Still I have so much nostalgia for them I can’t choose any of the new ones over them. People complain about the editing but to this day that’s one of my favorite aspects of the movie. The portrayal of the Hulk in this is my favorite. He changes size and strength in proportion to his anger. Compared to the zen master surfer bro hulk we have now. The unbridled anger this movies Hulk shows is what I miss from the current MCU. Also the fact the MCU seemingly did away with the abusive father plot. Which is a major factor as to Bruce’s development of his alter ego.
5:03-Did you know that wasn’t just a Stan Lee cameo? The security guard who he was talking to was Lou Ferrigno! He played the Incredible Hulk with Bill Bixby in the 1977 TV series!
I prefer Hulk with this color of green over Marvel. Marvel just seems so colorless and flavorless and toned down. The color that the green and purple provide here is vibrant and unique
"the effects are good, why is everything but the Hulk good" ouch my heart 😢😭 it's still pretty good effects for a 2003 movie LMAO. Despite the visual effects they did a amazing job with showing how strong the hulk is. His speed is unmatched compared to any Hulk we've seen to date
This will always be my favorite hulk next to Lou Ferrigno. I remember watching this movie when I was 6 and the mirror scene when Hulk says “Puny Human”, I had nightmares.
I'll defend the cgi in this movie till the day I die. The cgi wasn't anywhere near bad when it came out. You can't judge it from 2024 standards. In fact it still holds up. The only thing you can possibly say was not good was the shade of green. It was a lil too bright and thats it. If you toned down the shade of green people would not say its bad. A lot of people only say its bad because of that and they don't look at anything else. They also say its bad because they hear other people say its bad so they go in thinking that. What about other stuff? The skin texture still looks great in a lot of scenes whether its wet, dry, has dirt on it, or mud. It never looks fake when he's interacting with stuff. The body movements don't look cartoony and unrealistic. Even Raimi's Spiderman movies cgi looked a lil cartoony in its movements. The first X Men movie had bad cgi, Ghost Rider, and so on and so on. The cgi in this movie definitely went for a more realism approach and it holds up pretty well I'd say. We only call it bad now cause we've seen better and we're 20 years ahead of this. But its still cgi nowadays that looks worse than this. And if you compare the cgi of the time to this Hulk, you'd see this was actually pretty damn good. Now the editing, pacing, and story are completely different things. Thats where the movie really kinda dropped the ball. It takes a while for the movie to get going with the Hulk and the funky editing at times makes it a lil hard to get into. I can appreciate what Ang Lee was going for with some of the comic book style editing. It was something different, and I'm ok with that, but it was a lil too much at times. And it wasn't just the comic book style editing. It was other stuff too that was just too much and random. And besides Hulk for the most part, I didn't find too many other characters interesting at all. But I still love this Hulk though. Its the most accurate version of the character to date, and it actually touches on some of the more psychological stuff with his character. I don't think this should have been PG though. Its some really adult stuff in Hulk's backstory that just don't hit the same if you toned it down. And Hulk himself isn't a character that you really wanna see be too PG. I don't wanna see him rip apart beasts and monsters and they just puff into green smoke after he rips them apart. If they can somehow merge this Hulk with the 2008 Hulk version, I think we might have a near perfect Hulk. Well as long as they get the story right.
This, Spider-Man 2002 and maybe Batman and Robin (I know it’s a horrible movie like absolutely terrible but it has a place in my childhood heart) were MY gateway into superhero movies as a kid.
I loved this movie. I liked the panel editing, the nods to the old TV show and comic plots, and the best General Ross (and Betty). It was fun and poignant and, ok the end fight was weird, but, overall, I bought it.
I also very much prefer the action in this one over what they’ve done with the character since. The action and the visuals here just feels of a much higher quality than what we get later on.
It was so fun watching this as a kid, and then we got Hulk Hands so we could actually box with our friends and cousins when we were too young and untrained! lol, good times. Also this is the most comic-accurate depiction of Hulk's powers!
Trivia: Throughout the film, some clues foreshadow David Banner's climactic descent into insanity: He goes undercover as a janitor in his son's lab, referencing Samuel Sterns, a janitor who became the Hulk's archenemy, "The Leader." He bombards himself with gamma radiation and absorbs the properties of anything he touches, like the Absorbing Man, another Hulk foe. He absorbs and transforms into a LOT of electrical energy in the film's final fight sequence, an homage to the classic Hulk villain, Zzzax.
Part of the reason this movie didn't go so well, is that the main character is actively trying to prevent becoming the thing that the audience paid money to see.
That's part of Bruce's character. He's trying to find a way to prevent the hulk from coming out. I'll try to find a cure. That's source material from the comics
Marvel screwed up bigtime when they tried to ignore and remove this movie from being part of the MCU when in fact it is, and it was the first one. Ang Lee's HULK is the best one ever made and the CGI is what it is for its time and shouldn't be compared to later CGI. Its this story and the acting that is still heads and shoulders above any following MCU movie. You simply can't get better actors and acting than what was given here in this movie. This is like trying to ignore Tesla's AC generator when most people don't really understand how a generator works because its energy input. has no direct connection to its output, so where does the energy output come from? Hint, the Ether. Marvel has been trying to cover this movie up and stuff it under a rug pretending its storyline isn't better than the rest ever since it was made. How unfortunate because this HULK is bigger, stronger and far more intelligent than anything Marvel has come out with since. Mark Ruffalo's hulk is a shadow compared to this one.
This movie is far from perfect, but I do think it's highly underrated. I appreciate Ang Lee delving more into the psyche of Bruce Banner and the Hulk (which the comics have also done), but this was definitely a movie that CGI technology was not ready for. Also, fun fact: The other security guard that Stan Lee is talking to is Lou Ferrigno, who played the Hulk, alongside Bill Bixby as Bruce (changed to David for the show) Banner, in a Hulk TV show in the 1970s and 80s.
Ang Lee’s Hulk movie 🎥 was the Hulk movie 🎥 my brother and I grew up with, we even played the game adaptation of Ang Lee’s Hulk film 🎥 on the GameCube.
7:23 “Is he in the Avatar series, live action?” Yes. That’s Daniel Dae Kim aka Ozai from ATLA (Netflix). Speaking of which, he also appeared in another Marvel movie; Spider-Man 2
So, I just watched this movie for the first time last week, and I have mixed feelings towards it. I love that it takes a phycological turn and really dives into Bruce's trauma, it's really cool that the angrier he gets, the stronger and taller he becomes. And him *biting* a missile!😮 Just, what can't the hulk do?! But I do think him growing 15ft is a little ridiculous, why not just keep the first two sizes that he transformed into, that's intimidating enough! Also, I will never know how Betty was able to recognize Bruce when first seeing the hulk! It'd make sense if she knew it was him through an action only Bruce did, like maybe he calls her by a nickname he gave her while they were dating or just a simple zoom-in of his eyes to let us know that Betty's recognizing him through his eyes, but we don't get that! While I could understand Betty being terrified of what was happening, she did betray Bruce. Her and her dad aren't even that close, what did she expect would happen? Betty from 2008 would never! And I do see what you mean regarding the hulk's color, he's too bright! In the 2008 movie, he's dark green and you can see all of his veins and muscles. It looks terrifying like the hulk should be. This hulk is terrifying, but he doesn't look it. If the 2008 hulk's design was here to and Betty, then I'd absolutely love this movie. Overall, this movie's just okay for me. Also not a big deal, just a nitpick, but it's annoying how Bruce's pants shrink with him when he transforms. Just, how?
Great reaction!! 🙌 The problem with tone of the skin that is too green is the resoult of the saturation of most screens, for that reason exist filmmaker mode in TV where you can disable all that saturation and other settings that change the original image.
Great reaction Tim 😊 although as a kid I was totally terrified of this movie but seeing it as an adult I can see it wasn’t all that great but to me Eric Bana was the stand out 💚💚hopefully you can do The Incredible Hulk if haven’t done it already 🤞
You should probably here's the thing the 2008 hulk is in the same universe as this whole so if you're going to watch this version of the whole cube you got to watch the hulk from 2008 the one that's part of the MCU technically both of these movies are connected they're both important so you need to watch that movie after you watch this one so that could be the movie you watch because it looks like on one of the days you don't have a movie to watch so you can watch the 2008 hulk film what you need to watch because it looks like maybe Doctor Doom might be coming back in the new falcon in movie the new falcon brave New world movie some people think doctor do might return to that movie so so you know who the characters you might want to watch the 2008 the hulk film
Characters like Hulk and Spider-Man are called Mutates (different from X-Men Mutants) people born without powers but acquire them from an incident that would normally kill a normal person.
I know this movie has started to grow a few fans, but I’m sorry. To me, this movie is very dull and badly written. This is from the same director of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, yet this doesn’t feel like it’s from the same director. Even Eric Bana plays a very bland and boring Bruce Banner. If anything, I’d be surprised if anyone actually stayed awake while watching this movie.
Nope.. this one will eat all the Avengers combined and still have time for all the villains too even without increasing his strength to country buster levels.. It's not even close
Nope.. Do you know how Bruce got his powers, and how he ended up in Brazil?? Do you know Blonsky's motivation?? Do you even know who he is?? why does your Hulk kill people??

i like how they animated the water dripping off of him as he gets angry in the water tank scene
@@kluneberg8952 I love that touch too.
Its actually a pretty fun watch too. Plus eric bana rocks
@@kluneberg8952The CGI has aged amazingly.
He's rumor to be Maestro in the mcu

The security guard walking out the door with Stan Lee was the actor/ bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno, who played the ‘Hulk’ in the tv series (1977-1981).
and lou ferigno come back in increadible hulk also as guard
Actually, the Hulk being "too green" here is intentional. Part of the genetic alterations to Bruce included jellyfish DNA, and jellyfish have bioluminescence (they glow). So whenever Bruce turns into the hulk, the jellyfish DNA makes his skin really green and he kind of glows, basically.
27:35 actually he’s becoming the Absorbing Man, which is a real villain of Hulk lore, he can absorb and become anything he touches.
unironically one of my fav movies ever! SO much better than the 2008 hulk
No way. I love your videos
I think the CG for the hulk looks great in this movie
Fun fact: in comics, Hulk was originally grey because some colors were too expensive. The grey Hulk then became a different persona called Joe Fixit who is still smart like Bruce and aggressive like Hulk. There are countless more in Bruce’s broken mind.
joe fixit is like mafia-hulk
As Confucius once said, "When anger rises, think of the consequences."

Back then, as a kid, I used to think this Hulk lived in the same universe as Tobey's Spider-Man
Same.
Partly due to both films being scored by Danny Elfman. Really helps put that idea in your mind.
honestly the design of the hulk in this film really looks better then the mcu!
Timothee proves once again that he's the goat with his movie choices

To me that has to be an early version of the world breaker hulk in that specific moment
Still my favorite hulk movie
I prefer Hulk with this color of green over Marvel. Marvel just seems so colorless and flavorless and toned down. The color that the green and purple provide here is vibrant and unique
This came out a year after my sister was born 😂❤
Still pretty impressive effects too for the time✨️
I love this movie so much from my childhood.
The powers Bruce’s dad gets are actually based on a different Hulk villain called Absorbing Man.

Im sorry but this is the best Hulk movie...the raw emotion mixed with cheesy dialogue and action...PEAK

I love hulk
Classic movie
I thought the cgi was great
I'm watching the HULK movie right now on UA-cam Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas Blessings and HUGS MARANATHA! 🎅👑💜🔯
23:25 Gamma Dogs. A Boxer, a Poodle and a Pit Bull

32:21 my favorite funnitest moment, BOOMM 😂😂😂😂😂
I liked this one better than the 2008 version.
7:23 “Is he in the Avatar series, live action?”
Yes. That’s Daniel Dae Kim aka Ozai from ATLA (Netflix). Speaking of which, he also appeared in another Marvel movie; Spider-Man 2
9:18 - perfect summary of this movie
good choice of movies i won't spoil it
My childhood ❤❤❤
Funny fact is that universal has three green characters 1. Grinch 2. Shrek and hulk
I would love to see a 2003 Ang Lee's HULK vs Hugh Jackman's Wolverine movie 🔥
Yeahhh, that is Daddy Dae Kim
This is a great movie reaction!! Awsome video
I love this movie but the 2008 Incredible Hulk will always be my favorite hulk movie in my opinion
Fun fact the security guard with stan lee was the original hulk from the tv series in the 90s
Just, how?
Incredible ❤❤
Well did my original comment go
Great reaction!! 🙌 The problem with tone of the skin that is too green is the resoult of the saturation of most screens, for that reason exist filmmaker mode in TV where you can disable all that saturation and other settings that change the original image.
Planet Hulk (2010) is another Hulk movie that you should check out.
This story is closer to comic
I remember renting this movie as a kid thinking it was The Incredible Hulk.
Damn bro this movie been out for 21 yrs and this is your first time watching it lol.
Great reaction Tim 😊 although as a kid I was totally terrified of this movie but seeing it as an adult I can see it wasn’t all that great but to me Eric Bana was the stand out 💚💚hopefully you can do The Incredible Hulk if haven’t done it already 🤞

the mcu one is still stronger and smarter and scarier but this one if faster
Nope.. this one will eat all the Avengers combined and still have time for all the villains too even without increasing his strength to country buster levels.. It's not even close
Honestly, not as good as the Avengers Hulk.
He could still beat Avengers Hulk
If you're talking about Mark Ruffalo, Eric Banner can beat Mark Ruffalo's. And got his childhood/trauma right
You prefer a weak, bully and cowardly Hulk?? Makes sense
The 2008 Hulk movie is much better than this Hulk movie
Maybe, but this movie shows the Hulk getting stronger, the man gets angry. They got his childhood trauma right.
the hulk was barely in the 2008 version
Nope.. Do you know how Bruce got his powers, and how he ended up in Brazil?? Do you know Blonsky's motivation?? Do you even know who he is?? why does your Hulk kill people??
My personal fave hulk movie.
