I love you're take on sound guys! They've gotten lazier w/ Digital Mixers. The argument I always get into is to have the Bass level w/ the rest of the band b/c most of these guys wanna bury it.
Off topic, but very few truly care these days about how you want your music to sound, or need it to sound. It's like they don't need sliders or EQ. They just need buttons - "SOLO ACOUSTIC GIG", "TRAD. 4- PEICE BAND", "TRAD. 4-PEICE w/ SYNTH/ORGAN/PIANO"... even then they'd probably just hit the first 2 if you were a Septet w/ Analog Synths and a string section!
Great vid! Even w/ an L.R Baggs I would run through an BOSS TU-2 (a little buffering) ,Xotic SP Compressor, and an MXR 6-BAND.

The 10 band EQ was the most effective MXR pedal there. I use an old Fishman Aura to tailor the tone for my different acoustics. Recently I added a Strymon El Capistano for a beautiful tape delay and some reverb. Pedals can be effective and additive to your acoustic tone.

WOW! You can make an acoustic sound just like an electric guitar. Why bother using an acoustic guitar, if sounding electric is your goal? The most helpful and useful MXR pedals you have in this demo for acoustic are #1 the EQ and #2 the Reverb used sparingly. LOL @ 4:24 "You have more control on stage than the jerk behind the sound board" I have found the quality of my sound solo or with the band depends on how I/we relate to the sound person The one behind the sound board can can make or break your sound and your show. You want the sound person to be your friend. :)

Some people like the versatility of playing acoustic and switching to electric. Why put people in a box?

The gentleman from MXR is who made the guitar sound like an electric. In his defense, I don't think the acoustic solo gig is his realm.
And the young lady, to her credit, was polite and didn't embarrass him by pointing out the obvious.
Select pedals used carefully and tastefully CAN add interest to certain songs in a set. Pedals can also ruin an acoustic show.
The comments toward the sound tech were unprofessional. Yes, there ARE venues with house sound systems where, often, the bar staff is instructed to "tend" the mixer. What that typically amounts to is simply turning the volume down too low, or worse, raising it much too loud.
But these are not sound techs. They're bar staff put in an awkward position.
The solution to the problem is not to insult them. It is something a solo acoustic performer should already be doing anyway, providing his or her own system and mixing from stage. That way, you have complete control.
But know your gear inside out and how to use it before diving in too deep if this is new to you. Start out small. Read and UNDERSTAND your manuals and the full potential of your gear. Set it up completely and practice at full volume where you can work out the kinks and become familiar with it all.
Learn how to "ring out" your main speakers and monitors to effectively eliminate feedback at different venues. Practice this routine until you can do it even when rushed. This one ability will pay dividends toward your comfort level and your ability to fully enjoy your gigs.

He can't really do that for you, because your the player and listener of your own music, and your the only one who really knows how you want your sound to be projected,I thought the guitar got a little rigid and rough at times because the sound was not smooth out enough, When the chorus came out the sound was drowned out, then he opened it up and the sound was rigid again,it was rough,I never operate all my pedals at once except the chorus it remains on, until I activate my MXR VH phaser...

Just sounds like an electric guitar more like a tele than an acoustic

The guitar sounds better by itself.....only thing she needs is the ability to cut the highs

Everytime he touched something it sounded worse….Terrible EQ profile for acoustic….

You should only use certain effects for certain songs never with all on,it bores and annoys audiences after awhile, you gotta change it up on them everytime, certain effects aren't for every song, that's why you tap them out, ugh🙁
