Really loved the Stake Presidents words in this video about looking at the other things that make you, you!. I've been clean for a little bit now but still feel broken and that i havent fully healed. the temptations and urges are still there and it's easy to feel like it's still a part of me. But now i see i need to focus on the other things in my life. Other hobbies, other passions. I really hope and pray that those wounds will heal one day. For the time being if I feel tempted I come to these videos and they help put my mind on recovering rather than indulging. Much love to anyone here that is fighting this battle. Just know you're not alone
So happy the Church has created this series of videos as there are so many in the church that live in silent isolation out of shame, embarrassment or a sense of futility that there's nothing they can do after having tried everything. This video goes right to the soul of the problem and offers very good plans of attack and preparation to employ when an addict gets to that point of "I can't do this anymore". I absolutely love our Savior Jesus Christ and what he has done for all of us and so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints...
Thank you, Stake President David Clare, for saying that even an addict can receive revelation. For too long I had people telling me that if I was sinning I couldn't receive revelation or feel the promptings of the spirit. This belief or attitude must be stopped in the church. Else, how can anyone feel the spirit? We're all sinners, right?
We sometimes forget that we've been given power over the 'spirits' of the enemy and we simply need to exercise that power and cast out the demons, because the enticement we feel in the moment is their influence - fasting works though; "Is not this the fast I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, that ye break every yoke?" There is no greater band of wickedness or heavy burden or oppression or yoke, than pornography and the sins it leads to.
Thanks for this inspirational video. I've watched enough disgusting hc pornography in my life to feel guilty and depressed. It's good to see that there exist people that still realize pornography is wrong and disruptive to harmony in society. Encouraged by these videos and I'll now try to quit this habit for good. LDS missionaries in Joensuu have been very kind and helpful. I feel that among young people in all Nordic countries, there are way too many lonely singles since disruptive school shootings have increased and pornography consumption has exploded. LDS church members are an excellent shining example of strong family values. I have grown to look up to LDS missionaries when I ponder on my own on how to be a better member of society, better and more adult man.
@Touko Kivi, thank you for sharing your perspective and experience. We were happy to hear you've met some of our missionaries in Finland. For you or others interested in learning more about the gospel of Jesus Christ, see comeuntochrist.org for more videos, articles and resources. Take care!
Touko, I actually served as a missionary in Finland for seven months before I came home early for mental health problems. Even though I was never in Joensuu, one of the elders I served with had previously lived there and met you, and he told me about you - how much he liked you, what a good person you were, and how much he could tell that God loves you. Thank you for your wonderful comment and Jumalan sekä Kristuksen rauhaa vaan :)
I love these videos because I get exactly what I need I am a teenager and I struggle with it. I have one problem, I'm not good at talking and I feel like people will judge me and that I will be hurt inside. I scared to talk to my bishop how can I do this?
Hi there, thanks for your question. We're glad you're here! When we struggle with pornography use, we often have feelings of denial, self-deception, and isolation. It may seem difficult to share and communicate our feelings and struggles with someone else. But finding the right person to support us is an important step in acknowledging the problem and moving forward toward recovery. The support and insights of others can help us make lasting changes. I've been a porn addict for many years. I gave my life to Christ and became a Christian and here I am relapsing over and over again. Whenever I go back watching it and I feel like I'm failing God. I want to be who God wants me to be instead of who Satan wants me to be.

I've been struggling with this for a while and I didn't realize it was a problem until a little while ago. I've read what the church website says about choosing who to talk to and how to get help, but I'm scared. My parents don't handle situations like this well and I'd be afraid to tell them. I already feel like my friends don't like me so I don't want to tell them. I kind of want to tell my bishop because I'm good friends with him and I trust him and I want help, but I'm so ashamed and in worried that he would think I'm gross and I'd hate that because we're just good friends. Ugh I'm sorry if that sounds weird. It's hard to put what I'm trying to say into words. Anyway, I want to talk to my bishop, but I'm scared and I was wondering if anyone had any advice for someday when we're out of quarantine so that I can maybe talk to him about it.
I was in the same situation as you are, I was terrified of telling my parents. I was scared of telling my bishop. It took a lot of prayer and faith to finally achieve that peace, that everything will be okay. That no matter what happens, everything will be okay. Your Bishop will not think you're gross, he will receive you with love and kindness. It's so much easier to combat this with parents and your Bishop at your back, ready to help you. You can do this!
@SuperBreadMan_, thanks for sharing your encouragement and experience! @Abigail Rutledge, thanks for sharing your fears and concerns. We're glad you're here! Your bishop and leaders love you, care about you, and want to help. Although it may seem scary at first, we know finding someone to support you will help you a lot. I am struggling I went a whole week and a half and eventually went back however last week I heard a voice ask me why don’t you read your bible so that’s what I’ve been doing and I quit saying really bad words like GD and MF and in that week I started to get urges to look at pornography and then I crashed basically but I haven’t started cussing again and I still read my bible every night but I feel ashamed cause I wanna be a witness to people but I can’t if I still have this chain of pornography how do I break this chain?

In addition look up Life changing services. They have a program for young men and separate for adults. Going there under my Bishops direction changed my life...well actually they were the tools. The gift of the atonement through Jesus Christ saved my life. Look into it in addition to the tools the church just shared.
I struggling with pornography and marturbation from my childhood until now. I started to change my way and stop it ,and I did it only 3 months then sin again in the same sin because of beautiful girl and hot girl I've seen in social media my flesh triggered and I fall again. And I commit this sin again and felt shame inside of me and I asked myself what should I do? , to lessen what I felt I open the app which bible app and this app tells everyday a quote verse or message, I was shocked because of the message I saw ,I question myself and confuse is Jesus send the message to me? Not here to insult any religion. I respect christianity. That is the reason why Islam has made it obligatory to cover themselves because when we see beautiful girls uncovered, it triggers negative thoughts and you ultimately fall into sin again and again.
