    Can't believe you guys went out all the way to High Rock Point and didn't go to the Keweenaw Rocket Range! It's only a quarter mile to the north... just to the right of your drone footage at 12:18

      Have to include it in our next video out there because it is really neat!

    I just stumbled across this, WOW TY! I plan to make the 9H drive north in July / August, the pandemic really put a damper onto my plans. Ive been chasing the northern lights X years, Ive taken the 4H+ drive to Mackinac a few times in hopes catch, then all way back home. Fingers crossed Ill finally catch them way up there. I've never been that far north, super excited!

      Did you ever make it up there? I will be up there all this upcoming week. Your comment caught my eye because we live around the same parallel. It takes me about 4 hrs to get to the bridge and 9 or so to get to Keweenaw.

    So jealous of the Jeep!! We barely made it past the sign for horseshoe harbor in the Rav haha. and im so mad that we never even went down to horseshoe harbor, we legit camped right there! Love all the drone footage tho!

      Oh no! Did you just not really know what was down there or just prioritized other things? If you can’t drive out you can always rent bikes and ride the point trail out! It’s one of my favorite mountain bike trails now and that section isn’t that technical so you could definitely do it!

    The UP is my favorite place on earth. Spent lots of time up there as a kid. Copper Harbor and that whole area are so beautiful. I would NOT want to be there in the winter though.

    Thinking of going up to UP June 25th to July 5th....bugs? Or better just after Labor Day?

    • @brianandheatheroutdoors
      @brianandheatheroutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      😬 could be hit or miss. Definitely will be less bugs after Labor Day but usually by the 4th it’s tolerable. It seriously just depends on conditions and wind. We’re getting into peak bugs right now and I spent the whole night on the beach no problem 🤷‍♀️ I wouldn’t let it be a deterrent, just be prepared with spray and headsets and layers if necessary.

    Looked like a great time! What are your thoughts on the Mariner North Cabins? Looking for a place north of Houghton to stay for an extended trip next year.

    • @brianandheatheroutdoors
      @brianandheatheroutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      I liked the cabins and there’s a nice restaurant on the property too and centrally located right in town. There are other lodging options besides the cabins as well like a motel and hotel on the property.

      It can be brutal and absolutely intolerable but I have gone at the peak of black fly season in pants and a rain jacket with a head net and was able to at least walk around for a little bit.
