- I'm taking on one of the most difficult projects in my opinion. The legendary guitar - Paul Kossoff '59 Les Paul. I've been approaching this project for several years, always putting it off because I doubted my abilities a bit. But this time the stars aligned. This time I'm going to try a whole new way of artistic relic. we'll see what happens.

I'm speechless! I've always loved the original and you did it more than justice. World class work my friend.
@@walkinginharmony Thank you
I've played guitar for over 50 years. This was just astonishing. I've never seen such dedication. How I wish I could obtain one of your guitars.
@@jf45678 Thank you!
I'd love to have a Les Paul he did too!
You keep getting better at the relic process. This is amazing work. Sounds incredible too. Congrats on this project !
@@pedraw Thank you
That's not just a guitar , that is a masterpiece .
Thank you
I love that you have a dedicated guitar freezer. Some folks have a 'beer fridge', which is OK, but who else has a guitar freezer? Nice.
@@MichaelSorensen-bl3ec 😄 thank you
Supposedly, when John Mayer got his famous blk1 from Fender he felt it wasn't right. He ended up throwing it in the freezer for a day and the rest is history.
Unbelievable! Such detail in your process. This is your best relic to date.
Thank you
Simply spectacular... you're a true artist, my man !
Thank you
Dedication of the work you put in is beyond anything I've seen so far. Amazing work and sounds great.

Murphy Shmurphy!
If Gibson was smart, they would hire this guy and put him in charge of their custom shop. When they try to recreate famous guitars, they do a good job...but it is obvious that they are just trying to get 'close to the original'. This guy tries to get exact. The thing is...if Gibson did hire him and offer his guitars....they would have to charge an insane amount of money for them. The amount of time that would go into creating one single guitar would make them very, very expensive guitars.
Thank you
Obra de Arte!
Thank you 😊
Subbed. That is some serious skills right there. Amazing. Even as a purist, I'm perfectly fine with this. It's not a copy as much as it's a Tribute to the Artist. There's a distinct difference in my opinion. That is a lot of work. You have to be part Genius and part Nuts to do what you do. I'm really impressed my man.
Thank you for your kind words 🙏
Amazon Job , ❤
Singularly sensational. I salute your skill! Your craftsmanship! Meticulous attention to detail. Looks stunning matched with sonically sounding perfection. I have a Gibson Custom Shop Paul Kossoff 1959 Les Paul Standard Green Lemon Burst Tom Murphy Aged and it was great to see potential how my guitar looks the way it looks. Just one observation, the vintage pointers under the speed control knobs are missing. Thanks for sharing.
@@theguitarbunker Thank you
Incredible work! Great job. So impressive. Congratulations.

This is beyond art... l can only hope that one day we can buy your guitars 🙏 i want to support your business more then i want to support the murphy lab

Great work, I've enjoyed seeing a number of your projects. A big hello from Utqiagvik Alaska.
Thank you
I admire you for saying that you had wanted to do this project for years, but recognised it would be difficult, and that you wanted to learn and improve your techniques first. I have felt the same way about some of the things I have done myself. It's the mark of dedication to be willing to learn, be prepared to fail a few times along the way, until you truly master your art.
@@MichaelSorensen-bl3ec Thank you. Indeed, to start any complex project you need to overcome fear and be prepared for failure. In any case, you can always repaint ☺️
❤
What do you charge to do something like this? The work is simply amazing!

@@Saul_HUDSON Thank you
What's the story behind the strange marking on the back of the neck that sort of looks like a scarf joint? I was thinking maybe it was a repair, but at the angle that it presents at, it seems like too much of an end grain to end grain joint to have any strength without any long grain splices in there. Great work as always, my friend!
@@flapjack413 Thank you. It was a tepair after broken headstock. New headstock with part of the neck was made of more dark mahogany. No serial number stamp, no Les Paul model print. Red colored lacquer. I try to ask more information about the neck Fried Okra. He is a owner of original Kossoff guitar.
@@8BombCustomCool information about that Les Paul. I think the more famous Les Pauls were broken than not!
killer job!!!!
