Alright my dudes, question; do you think Demi-Fiend is here because he killed the God of his timeline, or is here to be punished by that God for attempting to do so?
Mustekalan Didn't Satan in DDS2 say something along the lines of, "and now you choose to retaliate, just as that man did." I always figured he was referring to DF. I suppose that Satan's punishment was this RNG hell hole.
Ultra Mega Jesus I took it to mean he was talking about Aleph from SMT2, but I suppose it could apply to Demi Fiend as well. Def something to think about!
I remember seeing someone cheesing this fight with Psycho Rage, Buffing Magic and Megidolon spam. It still took at least 5-10 Minutes, even with Somas to refresh their MP.
Gaea Rage is pretty evil but can we talk about the fact that this guy knows what skills you have equipped as soon as you enter the battle? Including Null Sleep, presumably.
Fun fact: Null Sleep and Null Critical are mistranslated. That's why you're allowed to have them in this fight. Comparing them to the correctly-translated Null Element, Null Sleep should be Sleep Dodge and Null Crit would be Crit Cancel. This was fixed in, of all games, Persona 3 where Null Sleep was renamed Sleepwalker
You know, one thing I noticed, and this is something I could be wrong about, but the version of Demi-fiend we fight in DDS is lazy. Think about it, his resistances match with Masakados magatama(not resisting Earth and Gun attacks, which were not present in Nocturne; and almighty ones). Yet he's using low to mid tier skills like Javelin Rain and fucking Heat Wave(which you would presume that he might have at least Freikugel, Deadly Fury, Magma Axis or Pierce at this point, which he might/might not since he has Uber Pixie in his team, stating that he did went to at least the fifth kalpa) and he's using demons in his team which can be found around level 60(with Uber Pixie being the exception, which I believe you can get even if you yourself are at a low level, but I don't know about this, someone please correct me if I'm wrong). So from what I conclude in this version is that DF is himself around level 60 and got really lazy with his grinding. But even then, the guys at DDS are having such a hard time against him. Just imagine if he were to fight seriously. I wouldn't want to imagine how many ways their bodies would be blown up into.
Endgame Demi fiend would be a impossible boss, only with hacks he would be beated. And imagine you beat him with a hack and the game crashes, too powerful that he crashed my game haha.
"Who are these soldiers? Huh? They turned into demons? ...Big deal Okay, TeethingTits, time to dance crazy until you drop DEAD!" TRRRRRR...!!! AAHHHH...!
That and the fact that it's just the normal random encounter music from Nocturne, meaning he only views this as another random fight he could easily win.
Back here after beating demifiend in SMT V, I am so glad grimoires/essences/balms/incenses exist in 5 because I did not have the patience back then to level grind/max stats in DDS for this fight (and playthrough the game twice).
You know you have a hard fight when there are ZERO strategies to kill Demi-fiend before he can use Gaea Rage at least once. Yes, you have to plan around the fact he WILL use Gaea Rage and he WILL kill your party with it
@@dedark0il131 Not to my knowledge. In order to avoid Gaea Rage you would have to kill Demi-fiend in 30 turns, which isn't practical with Girimekhala and Cu Chulainn alive. If you leave them alive for 30 turns, they kill themselves with Recarmdra, and then Demi-fiend uses Gaea Rage anyway. The two main strats are "normal" (which I shall call "Gradual Grinder") and "Red Star." Gradual Grinder is what you see in this video, you just kill the summons every 29 turns and then use Close Call/Null Sleep to tank the Gaea Rage. Red Star requires you to kill Cu Chulainn as quickly as possible, then tank Gaea Rage, then trick Pixie into wasting all her MP before she takes her 31st turn. With no MP she can't cast Recarmdra. You still have to kill Girimekhala so HE can't use Recarmdra either. The end result is Demi-fiend, Pixie with no MP, and Arahabaki who can't use Dekunda. It's much easier to kill Demi-fiend with 4 Debilitates, the hard part is just getting there
@@dedark0il131 Yeah, compared to SMT5, classic Demi-Fiend really made you work out everything and plan dozens of turns in advance. Also in going over my evidence I need to make two minor corrections: Arahabaki can use Dekunda/Dekaja after all, and Recarm doesn't cost MP. However Pixie will ALWAYS prioritize Dekunda/Dekaja over Recarmdra (she'll try to cast them but not have any MP), and Arahabaki will not use the same spell Pixie uses, so Red Star still works; you just might have to use Charge instead of Debilitate
I'm still playing this and Nocturne. I heard about some Demi-fiend in DDS and couldn't recognize what people were saying till now. It really is Demifiend from Nocturne. Atlus is just cruel.
@@Oxman7077 Oh, he gets to cast a spell of almost endgame if you take too many turns, it obliterates the hp bar with a non-insta death type of damage. The thing is that you have to think in the strategy how to defeat the motherfucker while he trats you like a random encounter and tries to save mana. That is the thing. The AI for the battle plays with you.
I think it's really hilarious that the main thing that lets you win is that Earth and Gun weren't elements in SMT3. Demi-Fiend is using the Masakado Magatama and would otherwise be immune to anything but Almighty damage.
SMT Nocturne has an excessive amount of random music tracks that only show up in specific situations and aren’t in the official soundtrack. I think there was just too much audio for the PS2?
It's Nocturne that actually swapped them. It makes sense, because Javelin Rain is now actually a rain of projectiles. No clue what the hell Xeros Beat is supposed to represent though.
Joseph Maiorana I mean, SMT still exists. Mainline doesn’t get too many games, but they’re still here. Also, SMT V is still being developed (hopefully).
Serph: Cielo you're too underlevel stay outside Cielo: But.. Heat: You heard him, this is going to be an easy meal. *10 seconds later and a Gaea Rage* Heat: Okay time to Level grind you Cielo Cielo: I'm sorry what?
There's some cheese strat called Red Star or something where you lock Pixie and Arahbaki in some loop to make it a lot quicker, but I couldn't get that to work. Now I know why they rated DF the hardest boss in games, but it's heavily luck based tho.
When I normally look up ''hardest bosses ever'' I mostly see games like Tekken or street fighter popping up, but from turn based it's DF. What game is Demi-God from?
A small detail that i saw in this fight exepct for gaea rage all atacks that demi fiend uses are heavy atacks and the demons that demi fiend uses are mid to high tier demons this just says that he is not even using full power

I know, i don’t usually pay attention during these kinda vids, but this one I enjoyed to watch so much for some reason
Maybe demi just got bored and took a stroll through the amala. o3o *Very enthusiastic strolls*
Nah he probably went off to grind and ended up here
I'm pretty sure he isn't actually here, the end of this fight suggests it was just a gas induced hallucination.
The fact that this one fight took basically 40 minutes shows how crazy difficult it is, oml.💀
🤭
I remember seeing someone cheesing this fight with Psycho Rage, Buffing Magic and Megidolon spam. It still took at least 5-10 Minutes, even with Somas to refresh their MP.
Me: Who would recommend awfully satisfying JRPGs to me?
YT Algorithm: HOO BOY AWFULLY SATISFYING JRPGS
Ok I believe you
hoo boy
wait wrong series-
The protagonists are literally just a random encounter to the Demifiend. That's how strong he is
At least he didn't have Freikugel
Gaea Rage is pretty evil but can we talk about the fact that this guy knows what skills you have equipped as soon as you enter the battle?
Including Null Sleep, presumably.
>Analyze
@@NucleaRaptor That takes up a turn, what happens here is that Gaea Rage is his /first move/ if you have skills he doesn't want you to have.
@@TheRoboKitty P3 doesn't have Sleep ailment
@@kichiroumitsurugi4363 That is correct. Past me meant to say Strange Journey, not Persona 3
It's all the cycle of life, Dante(and Raidou) treat the Demi-Fiend as a random enemy, now the Demi-Fiend treats you as random enemies
Huh? They turned into demons?
...Big deal
Okay, TeethingTits, time to dance crazy until you drop DEAD!"
TRRRRRR...!!!
AAHHHH...!
Besides that, it would also be harder if he uses items like you the player does so it would be harder to beat.
A focused Freikugel would've destroyed the entire party with one hit lol
That and the fact that it's just the normal random encounter music from Nocturne, meaning he only views this as another random fight he could easily win.
The protagonist's path has no end... Not even sequels will hinder his journey forward.
Digital devil saga 2 ended seraph story as he réincarnation as child
@@fuckingking6796 he meant demi feind not serph
I like how he's sandbagging so hard that he isnt even using a full party
24:26 that's some luck right there
24:24 lucky shit lmao
Back here after beating demifiend in SMT V, I am so glad grimoires/essences/balms/incenses exist in 5 because I did not have the patience back then to level grind/max stats in DDS for this fight (and playthrough the game twice).
16:18 - the Gaea Rage moment
Pixie appearance has never been so terrifying
You know you have a hard fight when there are ZERO strategies to kill Demi-fiend before he can use Gaea Rage at least once. Yes, you have to plan around the fact he WILL use Gaea Rage and he WILL kill your party with it
@@TARINunit9 Aren't there SOME runs that had no gaea rage in them?
It's much easier to kill Demi-fiend with 4 Debilitates, the hard part is just getting there
@@TARINunit9 thanks for sharing, never knew this much about counter-demifiend strategies
For the Demi-Fiend party it looks like those speedrun fails where you randomly die
Even the ambient theme in the beginning is from SMT Nocturne haha
Serph: Who are you?
Demi Fiend: I'm you but better
I'm still playing this and Nocturne. I heard about some Demi-fiend in DDS and couldn't recognize what people were saying till now. It really is Demifiend from Nocturne. Atlus is just cruel.
dw is implied that is an hallucination. Also, this "secret boss" is actually just the demifiend half way the story haha
@@onemoregodrejected9369 So if I'm getting this correct, the Demi-Feind super boss is only at half strength?!
@@Oxman7077 Mid tier demons and atacks any random demon mid game know?
Yes.
@@onemoregodrejected9369 Kinda makes me wish you could rematch him at full strength
The AI for the battle plays with you.
the fact that this lasted for almost 41 minutes makes this boss fight terrifying
yeah... Demi-Fiend just hits different -harder- in this game
Imagine if he had Raidou and Dante in his party.
I will throw this game to trash if he had them
Finally beat him after 5 tries:)) Probably the most stressful 40 minutes of my life
I think it's really hilarious that the main thing that lets you win is that Earth and Gun weren't elements in SMT3. Demi-Fiend is using the Masakado Magatama and would otherwise be immune to anything but Almighty damage.
24:24 very rare moment
What sheer luck 0.0
Imagine if Demi-fiend could use charge or Freikugel.
🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😨😭😨
"PANIC INTESIFIES"
Why is the audio quality 10x better in this game, for the same system?
SMT Nocturne has an excessive amount of random music tracks that only show up in specific situations and aren’t in the official soundtrack. I think there was just too much audio for the PS2?
Ok so no one else gonna mention how Xeros Beat and Javelin rain are swapped?
It's Nocturne that actually swapped them. It makes sense, because Javelin Rain is now actually a rain of projectiles. No clue what the hell Xeros Beat is supposed to represent though.
Actually yeah, that makes more sense.
I loved this effing game's theme so much as a teen. I wish they made more mature themed RPGs like this nowdays
Joseph Maiorana
I mean, SMT still exists. Mainline doesn’t get too many games, but they’re still here. Also, SMT V is still being developed (hopefully).
@@haru.4267 😬
@@haru.4267 You prob already heard the news :P
@Latios I did, and I couldn’t be happier!
Holy shit this is literally just picking attack, heal, and buff/debuff every round for 40 mins 💀💀💀💀💀 I think I would just run out of patience lol
It's even worse if you do this fight without demon form, because all your damage must come from counter skills or Wild Bombs
Serph: Cielo you're too underlevel stay outside
Cielo: But..
Heat: You heard him, this is going to be an easy meal.
*10 seconds later and a Gaea Rage*
Heat: Okay time to Level grind you Cielo
Cielo: I'm sorry what?
Serph: I can't believe I'm saying this Cielo, but I'm glad you're weak to ailments.
Cielo: Man... I can't catch a break, ya?
Me who used Close Call strategy:
The amount of luck you need to win this fight is insane
Cu Chulain: "Eat Shit!"
It takes that long to beat him and all his demons Dang and i though SMT3 was hard.
There's some cheese strat called Red Star or something where you lock Pixie and Arahbaki in some loop to make it a lot quicker, but I couldn't get that to work.
Now I know why they rated DF the hardest boss in games, but it's heavily luck based tho.
BuffMaister really i thought Demi-God was harder.
When I normally look up ''hardest bosses ever'' I mostly see games like Tekken or street fighter popping up, but from turn based it's DF.
What game is Demi-God from?
BuffMaister Whoops i was wrong your right it was Demi_Fiend i must have thought of something else
BuffMaister Tekken and street fighter? They most have not played many RPGs...
A small detail that i saw in this fight exepct for gaea rage all atacks that demi fiend uses are heavy atacks and the demons that demi fiend uses are mid to high tier demons this just says that he is not even using full power
There is a lore reason about why Demi-fiend appears in Junkyard other than "let's put the protag of our previous game as Super Boss"?
No, there isn't. Demi-fiend isn't even there. That's just a digital version.
i like to think that some amala network stuff happened which caused the demi-fiend’s data to be transferred over to wherever the junkyard is lol
I like how his boss theme is just the normal battle theme from nocturne
Argilla: “hup”
Gale: “AAAAARGH”
Serph: (yeah)
A fucking amazing game! I want see a remake before I pass away.
demi-fiend last word: did i just lose to a random encounter with more than 90 turns?!?!?!?!?!?!
This is how a previous demon protagonist is supposed to feel
Should feel like God has forsaken you
Lmao that's the plot of Digital Devil Saga. It makes this fight even more meaningful
I don't know how, but the attack sounds and vocalizations and UI beeps really feel like another layer of the music
Demifiend finding 3 unfortunate victims in the Amala network
I just want to know why he even uses heat wave. Even if he's just messing around it's still garbage.
To show us how trash we are compared to him
"Ehh, this isn't worth the MP, I'll just use Heat Wa- oh... okay then."
It's there to spam crits for him. Get those extra turns.
@@jamesputterlik225 There are better moves for that though. Like Deadly Fury.
Frying Pan You should be glad that this Demi-Fiend is weaker. Imagine this fight, but with demons like Metatron, Beelzebub, and Shiva, and moves like Freikugel and Deadly Fury. It’d actually be unfair.
That was an ordeal I never would have taken. Thank you.

You're kicking his ass with some pretty strong attacks and crits.

oh.......
Demi-fiend isn't even trying here.
Funny how Xeros Beat and Javelin Rain got their animations swapped from Nocturne.

Demi Fiend must be on New Game+, he has the extra press turn lol
I think it's possible to get the Visor without NG+
It’s gotta be annoying for Demi Fiend to keep getting challenged by these new kids.
