I purposely refrained myself from watching this series when in first got out so that i can watch all of them in one go. I know this will be a good series for sure
Aha! That is quite smart. Part 5 coming tonightttt!
Hey there...If you want a underbone with a good engine, and cheap price,I better say SYM VF3I 185CC was the best option for long travelling. Not only it has 185cc engine,it also has 7l fuel tank capacity, which is biggest on its class... I've ride one,and suuper satisfied although it was SYM brand
man really make a research on bike culture i really appreciate you guysss!
Thanks so much for watching! Love small bikes all over the world. So many cool subcultures in different countries using them.
Q&A video coming at the end of this series. I need your questions! Comment below any of the videos in this series and I'll answer as many questions as I can in a Q&A once all the videos are live.

How was your ass?
I rode 125cc 10 years++ and can't even ride 50km without stopping twice
Do u know the regs about selling Malay bikes in Vietnam, Laos or Cambodia?
@@willnewton3002 basically a waste of time even trying unless you want to give it away for free and the receiver knows they’ll have a bike they can’t realistically use long term. Hence why we started and finished in Malaysia. Doesn’t have to be in Kuala Lumpur though. I will definitely elaborate on this in the Q&A because there is a lot to be said about it.
was it easy to sell the bike away in d end of the trip? i heard bike rental not worth it cos when we go into accident... the rental company will squeeze alot fine on the person who rent it.
Callum, Looking forward to the series. You mentioned that you were looking for some questions to answer in a Q&A session. It is difficult to ask them now as you may well deal with them during the series, but here goes with a few.
1 - Can you please go go into the paperwork etc needed to take your bike across the border?
2 - How often did you stop riding for a stretch, hydration regain your concentration etc? (I am a 62 year old on blood pressure medicine and 60 to 90 minutes is about time for a break for me)
3 - What did you find the best time to book your accommodation The night before, in the morning, lunchtime or when you arrived?
4 - Did you find much option between riding on the highways or the B roads?
5 - Did you find that Malaysia has good “hard shoulders” for bikes to rid on?
6 - Do you feel that (aside from cost) touring on a manual bike has any advantages or disadvantages to riding on an automatic bike?
7 - How did you find the change in temperature as you rode up into the mountains?
I hope that at least some of these questions may be of interest to you. My wife and I both have a Honda PCX each and we live and ride around Chiang Mai. Looking forward to the series and we enjoy the channel.
Keep up the good work
Next time you're coming here maybe shoot an email or something to Aveta Malaysia so they could lend you their Aveta Ranger. They'd probably love to collaborate & feature their bike on your channel.
Could be a good idea. My friend Tom on a Budget - his partner bought one recently and they are currently riding in Thailand with it.
Awesome series so far!! Very excited!
Wow what a start of a EP1C adventure !
Appreciate the view mate. Thanks so much.
Your video turned up on my feed. Keep up the good work 👍🏼
Glad it’s finally getting the algorithm treatment. Thanks for watching part 1! 2 is live now and 3 is live in only six hours time.
Absolutely loving this!! Brilliant that you include all the bike search because then makes it easy to copy, really curious though, how much were the bikes costing? Great work mate 🙏
Thanks mate - lots more detail coming in the following parts so stay tuned. We paid about $900-1500 for the bikes in NZD. Maybe 450-900GBP per bike. Cheap as chips but you need to be prepared to possibly lose that whole cost. Where as in the final part you'll see what we ended up doing.
@@SmallBikeStuff awesome thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated! Will look out for the next videos 🙏

Yess! Love to see my bike (Lagenda 115, but in Indonesia is called Jupiter Z1) in action! So inspire me to have a nice long distance trip! Looking forward for next episode 👍
Glad you like it! The Jupiter is a great machine. Long distance riding is even better. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series!
Great stuff!! I think you guys are gonna have a real fun time on this ride.
Have you guys tried the local Malaysian reversed rain jacket look whilst riding yet?
Haha yes it's a great style. I've tried it before! Thanks so much for watching.
14:23 that's our Bajaj Pulsar RS 200.❤🇮🇳...
Nice video series bro.
Thanks mate!
Kia Ora mate !! ....Welcome back to Malaysia and really enjoyed the video. Safe journey and ride only as fast as your guardian angel can fly !!
Thanks so much I’m glad you enjoyed it. 5 more parts of this series to come!
Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/tDWiF_F4UT8/v-deo.html
Excellent first video of this epic adventure!! Can’t wait for the video #2!!!
Not long now! Appreciate you here watching part 1.
PART 2: ua-cam.com/video/tDWiF_F4UT8/v-deo.html
You're back to Malaysia..
And im back to watch your journey..
Btw nice editing with the live band song..
Im going to next episode
Thanks so much! Glad you like it. 4 parts live already. 5 and 6 come next week!
Been living and riding in Malaysia for 13 years. Heading to Thailand tomorrow, great stuff, vid has me excited for Thai scootering!
Awesome! Where in Malaysia are you riding from and where will you ride to in Thailand?
@@SmallBikeStuff Lived in Kuching, over in Borneo for 12 years, recently moved to Melaka. Unfortunately not riding to Thailand this trip, flying into Krabi and will sort out a rental.
@@angmohmoto awesome mate! Thanks a cool trip. If you can make it up to Khao Sok national park from Krabi that’s a real great spot but have fun regardless!
@@angmohmoto we visit Krabi in part 5 and 6 from this series.
I lived in KL for 12 years and Kok Motors always made me smile........
Haha I was being a little bit immature but even our driver had a laugh.
Awesome Video looks like a right laugh.
Couple questions: what price range (NZD) were the bikes?
Any plans to make this a regular trip people can join?
Cheers
The bikes were $900-1500 NZD each. Depending on what model it was. I'll expand on all the above in the Q&A after the last part is live.
Was recommended from my Reddit post about buying a bike in Malaysia to see this video. Thanks for the info
Oh wow! Thats so awesome to know. Nice to see it's been recommended.
You need to try that 135lc..good for long distance ride
One day!
Finally....waiting on the first ride out. This looks like it's going to be a fun adventure. Was thinking you guys would pick on the 125's but color me surprised. Guess it's true, go for the bike that steals your heart.
Thanks so much for watching part 1! Haha choosing bikes was the hardest part. Choosing a Future 125 would have been a good idea in hindsight but the Wave Alpha 110 held up fine.
Awesome vid man. Looking forward to this one.
High praise mate! Thanks so much. I’m finally doing the finishing touches on our chat from before the trip! Got a bit busy there. Your videos have been amazing btw. Keep it up.
PART 2: ua-cam.com/video/tDWiF_F4UT8/v-deo.html
Seems you guys had fun!
Does the little kapcais had overheating issue since you go long miles without cooler system?
Thanks we did! The bikes were all fine with their temperatures. Well - it seemed that way at least. We did a few oil changes along the way which helps when doing long high distance days.
Simple tips...if u wanna ride to thailand next time,
....honda will be my suggestion coz mostly thai people uses honda wave 125... So if any issues occur.. it will be easier in terms of parts etc...
4 out of 6 bikes were Honda. The Yamaha Lagenda has been sold in Thailand as the Spark 115 so there are still plenty of parts around.
This is great, thanks for sharing! Waiting for part 2!
So glad you like it! Nice to see you here Ben.
PART 2: ua-cam.com/video/tDWiF_F4UT8/v-deo.html
Awesome watch mate! Definitely jealous, cant wait for part 2!
Thanks Dan! Really appreciate it. Hopefully we can do something similar together one day.
PART 2: ua-cam.com/video/tDWiF_F4UT8/v-deo.html
Oooo this looks fun, Love this introduction episode, getting to know the people involved, the bikes, the prep work etc. Greetings from KL/Selangor!
Gidday mate! Nice to meet you. Yup the following parts are full of detail too! Not long to go till part 2…
PART 2: ua-cam.com/video/tDWiF_F4UT8/v-deo.html
Heyyaaa thanks for the notification before. I enjoyed the video although only remember to comment today. 😂 Keep up your love for small kapchai . From stock Yamaha LC135 owner 💪🏻
Thanks for watching! I really appreciate it. Always love small bikes!!!!
PART 2: ua-cam.com/video/tDWiF_F4UT8/v-deo.html
Did you mention in the video what the average cost of the bikes were? Or did I miss it. Very entertaining and a another on the bucket list.
Between $900-1400 NZD. The Wave 125 was the most expensive. I mention the costings more towards the end but will detail it properly in the Q&A
Next time you guys can try ride from sarawak to sabah..
That would be super fun!
Amazing first episode! However, no wear near enough mamak in this episode and needs way more durian. I really wish things had worked out for me to meet you guys for the KL part of the trip.
Haha behind the scenes there was plenty of Mamak I promise! Thanks for watching Dana. Wish we could have met up too but it’ll happen again!
@@SmallBikeStuff maybe next time is in NZ. Lets see.
well done boys looks like your having fun
Such a great trip! Hope you enjoy all the parts. The Q&A is done too!
@@SmallBikeStuff i did bagkok south then afterwards north to changmai got motorbikes just south of chaigmai all the way through the north of thailand to loas down the mekong and into cambodia and then south coast back to thailand was awsome and you guys make me want to go on an adventure again
damn that vid must have took very long to make. Also those bikes look very fun to ride! Makes me want to do something like this over seas!
Anyone can do a ride like this mate! Just takes a fair bit of planning and some thinking ahead. Even with the money side of it. Just need to pay for flights then figure everything else out before ya leave. Keep watching and you might be keen to do a trip yourself.
Nice work.
Fine choice of bikes. Too bad the Future's had so many issues.
Looking forward to seeing where you end up going in the upcoming episodes.
Yeah bad timing on our behalf for the Futures. He’d just sold a huge bunch of them not long before we arrived. Would have been more exciting get an Aveta Ranger Max 😉
oh yeah! reminds me of my cambodia adventure!
That’s on the watch list now. Will begin checking it out tomorrow! Cheers for commenting.
guys when you guys come to borneo let me know. we can ride here
Would love too! Thanks for the offer.
I was curious how you were able to buy the motorcycles, as you would need an address to register them with.
In Thailand they require your address to be verified by your own countries embassy. Malaysia doesn’t have this requirement. If you have someone local you can use that’s great. Otherwise whatever suits.
I hope you had as much fun riding here as we will watching your video. I wonder if it will be interesting or educational for your other audience on the origin of the word kapcai. It literally means little cub, as it decended from the original Honda Cub.
I really wish i could havw inherited my grandpa's C70 but i think one of my uncle took it.😂
Thanks so much! I had a blast riding on this trip. Being back home in NZ has been quite dull compared but it's nice to relive things by sharing the video series! Only 2 ish hours till part 2 is released!
Who needs GS1250 when 125cc is enough for fun factor?
Also when was this? How about next trip all if you guys use same cc(135 or 150) just for fun. Might be quite expensive for 'rent' though.
The reason we bought is because it’s much easier to ride long distance and much easier to cross the border. Rental bikes need extra paper work and it can be difficult to get it. Plus most companies won’t let their bikes leave the city.
@@SmallBikeStuffyeah thought so. Yamaha's motorcycle are quite expensive. The Honda's 150cc 2nd hand are basically same price as Yamaha's 135cc 2nd hand.
Just a suggestion. You already spend quite a lot with these trip too. Glad you able to do another trip.
love everything bout small bikes. keep the videos coming
Thanks so much! 5 more parts to come.
Awesome, this is going to be fun.
It IS! Thanks for joining along.
And I am loving it when u guys do it from Kepong frim❤️❤️❤️❤️have fun guys,
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoy it.

Aha! You discovered the Easter egg in the video series 🤣🤣🤣🤣
coming from a fellow small biker here, i gotta ask this: Why small bikes?
I talked about that topic for almost an hour in this video: ua-cam.com/video/9xDz7R_UL98/v-deo.html
But incase you don’t want to watch it, essentially the answer is ‘Why not?’
So cool, so cool, so so cool~
Thanks so much for watching! Not long till part 2 comes out. 🇲🇾❤️
Brilliant, looks fantastic
Cheers mate glad you enjoyed it!
PART 2: ua-cam.com/video/tDWiF_F4UT8/v-deo.html
How much did you guys pay for the bikes?
Yeah under $1000 NZD each mostly.
How is Neal? Still recovering?
Thanks for asking. I caught up with Neal last weekend. He’s back on two feet now and slowly riding bikes again. Still got some recovery time ahead.
I like that moyorcycle minute 6.45 clip video 6:46
Off road style!
Epic trip!!
Thanks bro! Hope you like the rest of it.
where there any issues with non-malaysians buyers when buying?
No issues at all. Any details specifically you’re looking for? Happy to elaborate in the Q&A
Was it easy to get into Thailand with a Malaysian bike as foreigners?
Very easy IF the bike is legally in your name. You just need to get Thai insurance on the Malaysian side of the border.
i waiting this for so long...
Good to see you here mate thanks for tuning in!
Mantap boskurr!!! (Marvelous Boss)
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch!
