I just did the hydraulic service yesterday. Mine has a molded hose leading to the suction screen. Those clamps took most of the time I spent. I’m doing the fuel filters today and just found your channel. Great job. I wish I had found you a few days earlier. 😏

I noticed when you started the tractor up the air cleaner is moving quite a bit. Ive seen other videos that the mount on the valve cover on those older modle 1025s can crack and break the vavle cover and drop peices down in the air intake. The make a conversion that changes the filter housing location and mount. Mine is a later model with the housing up front.

You can buy a conversion kit, I may look into it, they are about $400.00.

Did you get rid of your John Deere 870? Your the only one who really posts videos about it lol. Possibly buying one with a loader+bucket and a 3 point tiller+landscape rake so I’m excited

I actually looked for months to find a loader for the 870 and there were zero available so I ended up buying another johndeere 1025r with a loader. Regrettably to this day I sold the 870, if I had the room I would have kept it.

@@PovertyPointCustoms Yeah ive heard they can be tricky to find. the one im looking at has a model 80 loader and hasnt been serviced in six years yet still works fantastic with i want to say 2250 hours on it. It always happens when you build a shop or barn, you think you have plenty of space but it runs out quickly. Never big enough lol. in your past videos that thing was so shiny it seemed like your pride and joy lol. How would compare the 870 to the 1025r? is it faster/more powerful?

That was pretty dirty, and the water in your separator would be concerning to me. Do you use the type of conditioner for water?

I'd say that's the first filter change, so changing every fluid and filters on it. Its my new toy, that way I'll be on my own maintenance schedule, doing all the service minimum yearly (I'd probably put 50 hrs or so a year on it)

@@PovertyPointCustoms could you install a drain on the bottom of the canister to release dirt and water?
