This was really helpful! Thank you, last year I coached for free for about 150 hours. This January I started asking $75/hr and now I’m looking to jump to packages and $100/hr. I have my first potential client today that I’m going to be pitching a package, I’m thinking 3 months(12ish sessions) $2000. Or 6 months $3500 (about 26 sessions)

I liked the advice on listening to your gut the most! With two degrees from 'prestigious' universities and four years more or less working in academia, I've been taught to rely predominantly on my mind. While training as a coach is helping me move away from that, I found that I've previously priced my services using a scarcity mindset, fuelled by my brain and not my heart. I've felt that I've undercharged and then the offering of my service has been slightly tainted by the feeling that I was not honouring my talents and skills...

This is valuable information! I feel like I have the tools to not only “sell” my business but also what to include for my packages and that’s results. People want to know what they are paying for and if I’m including my whole package with an expected completion time along with the results at different “milestones” I will be confident in asking for my price!

What stood out to me the most was charging based on the end result that you are offering your clients. I have realised one of the big struggles are to identify and then believe yourself worth. I feel most comfortable, since I am just beginning, to mix and match. By the hour sounds best to me, but as I get more experienced and have good referrals, I'll feel good about raising my price. It may also depend on the client's circumstances, especially during these hard times.

Thank you for the insight in coachingprizing. It was enlightning! For me was the way like that:I reflected on how much i want to work per day/per week and what my dream incom would be. Then i wrote down what the prize is, that i am actually confident with and wrote also all the skills i need to get confidence to start prizing at all. So for me is there now an exact list, of what skills i need to learn to start prizing, to race the prize up until all the skills i will have untill i can confidently prize the wishprize who is also realisticly afordable for my coachees.

I’m transitioning to a new coaching practice soon but have tons of experience as a therapist, facilitator, creativity coach for over 25 years and have had my MA in Art Therapy for 28 years. Coaches tend to charge more than therapists. I do know I have very specialized skills and get amazing results that are more in the “inner game” arena. I’ve primarily worked in therapeutic, educational, or healthcare environments vs business. I also realize business clients have more money to spend. Part of my challenge is determining value and quantifying results given I tend to spark healing breakthroughs and transformation vs bottom line profits in business, for example.

It's all about finding a way to quantify either the value of the result (what end result does healing and transformation bring? what is the value of that for the client?) or the value of your time and knowledge. Whatever feels best to you at least as a starting point, and then you can scale it from there. Also remember, you can have different prices points for different clients/results. We hope this helps! ❤

I just found out your channel thank God!☺️I am a certified Corporate Coach but I have no experience, however I have a master's degree on transformational leadership and I have done a crazy research on this and I would love to share my knowledge with my clients. However I am very insecure about the paper procedure. Should I visit a legal advisor for my contacts, cards, etc?
We're so glad you found us too! It depends on what you mean by "paper procedure" and depending on your ideal clients, you may or may not need so many legal complexities if you're just getting started. But if it's something that is holding you back and/or you want to build authority with a LLC, for example, it might be a good idea to have some legal advice just to put your mind at ease so you can focus on the most important stuff which is enrolling clients!
Makes sense. Determine your value and then charge 10% if that. Determine your hourly rate to achieve your goals and use that to price packages based on hours invested. Should you include overhead hours and not just hours in teh coaching sessions?
Great question, Cheri! It depends on what pricing strategy you're using as they have different approaches. If you are looking at long-term packages where you value the total amount of hours invested for the whole project, then you should consider the overhead hours as well. If you're using the reverse-engineering approach, you should use the number of hours you want to coach because that's what you would charge the client per session. So if, for example, you want to make $200 a week, coaching 5 hours a week, your hourly rate would be $40. Let us know if that clarifies! ❤

billable hours (when you are in a coaching session)
OR all the hours you work per day, including coaching session, marketing, sales calls, preparation of your session, etc...?

Great question! It depends on your model, if you only deliver hourly sessions or you can package them in, for example, a 1-month package of 4 weekly sessions. The pricing could be hourly or in package (x4 if we follow the previous example). How do you go about pricing based on results?
Great question! As mentioned in the video, pricing based on results consists on putting a number on the result you could create for your client through your coaching. For example, let's say you coach clients to perform better and double their income from 5K USD to 10K USD, the value of your coaching would be 5K USD. And you could charge 50% of the result you would create for them and charge 2.5K for the coaching package. Hope it brings some clarity, thanks for asking :)

how do you set for certain persons like university students, or their financial capacity. it's different when the person is working for good companies, how are we to set for home makers or beginners embarking in some kind of project/community/others....specially in this Pandemic time, how do you set it ?

Hi Junie! These are great questions. Pricing your packages will depend a lot on your reality (average coaching fees in your local currency and how much your ideal clients are able/willing to invest). If your ideal clients have a limited budget, then you'll need to offer packages they can afford at least to get started. We suggest making some research on how much your ideal clients would be willing to pay and test different package options until you find one that works for both you and your clients. If I may jump in here ... If you want certification for the skill set it will give you, I'd say explore it. But if you want it because you think it'll add to your credibility and bring you more clients, mostly it won't make a jot of difference. (In the corporate world they may ask for credentials, but there's no legal requirement about certification to call yourself a coach.)
