I bought this album (well, CD) - Eric Clapton "from the cradle" - when it came out in the mid-90s, not long after his iconic Unplugged album. This particular song kinda hits different depending on whatever mood I'm in when I hear it. It's been a while since I listened to this album, but a couple of my favorite tracks are Hoochie Coochie Man and Motherless Child. The latter has a cool country blues vibe that I enjoy every time I hear it.
Here are 4 songs that show some of his best stuff came after 1980. 'Tangled in love', 'Aint going down', 'Just like a Prisoner', 'I've got a rockn roll Heart.' Really listening to any track from his Money and Cigarettes album is him saying 'Still Bad.'..
Clapton does alot of blues covers from Freddy king , Albert King, etc etc. He writes his own as well. When he was in CREAM , he did the great cover of from Robert Johnson " Crossroads ".
Wheres Lex? I love her happiness. :-) And this is an old blues song by Eddie Boyd in the early 1950s. EC covered it along with about 15-20 other classic blues songs on the album "From the Cradle." Awesome guitar work throughout.

Clapton's been a rock star since the age of 18, but he's had more than his fair share of bad shit happen to him.

Next should be Double Trouble (1978 bootleg version). It is peak Clapton and peak guitar i have ever listened to.
