Wow, what a field trip that was! I'm so grateful for the privilege of assisting a mosaicist with a bench installation. Awesome experience. Can't wait to see St. Mark finished. Thanks Julie.
Jennifer’s project is amazing . I hope you can record the bench when it is finished . It fascinates me to see someone’s studio that is so organized. I can only hope someday . Your lion is amazing - thank you for doing these videos.
Thank you for another amazing video. I love seeing Jennifer's work and her studio. There is so many things you can do. I just love seeing all these beautiful things and learning from all of you ❣️
Thank you for taking us to Jennifer's house. I love the cocoon, bee and wisteria! The whole panel is gorgeous!! Wow, it's almost as long as my house!! i love all her other work as well! So creative! I wish I was half as creative as both of you! 🙂
St Matthew facial features amaze me-like a photo. Very interesting field trip-what a project Jennifer is creating. A bench for the entire town to sit on. St Mark has turned out very nice as well. You enjoy your pendants-they turned out pretty. I liked the first one better. 💖💖🎶🎶
Awesome👏👏👏 Mane work and pendants but the visit to Jennifer's takes the cake. What she's doing for that bench is INCREDIBLE - the details are mind blowing. Julie thanks for taking us along - couldn't take my eyes off any creation of hers. Please share a link to her channel 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Ha! Not every mosaic artist has a channel. Jennifer has been making public mosaics for quite a while, but doesn't spend much time on social media. Here's her website: www.mosaicodyssey.com/index.html
My spacing is very close together and I want to make sure they are separated now for the installation later. The thinset is difficult to cut through, so that is the main issue.
Question: out of curiosity, how would St. Matthew’s hair be so lightly colored coming from a country around the equator where everyone would have been dark at that time? Help me understand. Thank you. And that lion is the bomb!
Julie, thanks so much for all of your super informative videos! Question: If you were to wrap the cut away edges (such as the head you just cut away) in plastic wrap or painters tape before starting to glue your work next to them, would that work to keep them from getting stuck together?
Your videos are always so interesting and helpful for this budding mosaic artist. But that 48 foot long bench that lady was doing the panels for?!! Porn! Pure Mosaic Porn! That’s an incredible piece of work. Can you do a video on how you price your mosaics for sale? I have such a hard time figuring out my pricing.
Pricing is a bit tricky as it depends on what your local area will pay as well as your skill level. And you might need to raise prices as material prices increase.
Are St. Matthew’s eyes blue? Would not have happened in that region as well. Artists normally attempt to depict the truth. Help me understand the reasoning. We as artists are people’s guides.
Same as before - the client request certain characteristics of the angelic symbol of St. Matthew. It is not a representation of St. Matthew the man, so there is some room for interpretation.
It can be confusing. Someone earlier asked why the angel as they did not understand the context. I don't really explain or show the design process of going back and forth with the client that took months!
Not a lie, just an image of an angel. The angel is a symbol of St. Matthew the Evangelist. As a symbol, they choose to show it how they want. In no way are they or I saying that this is a representation of St. Matthew the person. Just a symbol.
@@mazzonimosaics8222 thank you and you have to know that I appreciate your work. If I were new to the planet, fresh eyes, and had no understanding of who’s who, I’d think that the art that I was looking at was St. Matthew of the Bible until years later when somebody set me straight. I’ve already lived under that rock for a full lifetime. Jus’ sayin’. And just needed to share my thoughts.

Her studio is heated with space heaters - BRRR! Reminds me of my days in my garage studio.
WOW!!! Jennifer's work blew my mind! I truly admire her talents and creativity! Thanks for doing an awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it!

She's been updated me on the bench and I finally saw it in person! It's a big one!

I liked the first one better too! I want to make some lighter pink filati and make some that are a softer look. Thanks for watching!

Julie somehow I had a feeling that she might not have a UA-cam channel - still took a chance with the request!!! Thanks for the website 🙏🙏🙏
that field trip was such a nice Bonus, thank you! ❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Jennifer is so talented!!! I would love to see the bench finished :)
I think her deadline is this spring. She has lots of background to cut!
Thank you so much. I just discovered your channel the other day and have enjoyed watching your videos. Jennifer's work is amazing.
Yes! She just finished installing her big bench and I want to go see it in person.
You just blow my mine away. 👍👍👍
Thanks so much!
Those are some gorgeous peonies. I just love watching you create art!
Thanks so much 😊
Your mosaics are looking great and l enjoyed seeing Jennifer’s mosaics so very big and wonderful and her awesome studio. 😊
Thanks so much, Peter! 🌞
QH WOW !!!! FANTASTIC
Thanks so much!
I am mesmerized by your work. Bravo!!💜
Thank you! Cheers!
I hope you will take us on a field trip to see the completed bench. It is inspiring.
She finished installing it this spring, so maybe I will!
Wow.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful as always! I missed why you needed to cut the head out at this point.?
I love learning from you with every video! Thank you!

The likeness is at the request of the client. The angel is a symbol of St. Matthew, not an actual representation of the the man.
Love the pendant! How do you cut filati?
Nippers for fatter pieces. Diamond file and snapping for the thinner pieces.
Julie, thanks so much for all of your super informative videos! Question: If you were to wrap the cut away edges (such as the head you just cut away) in plastic wrap or painters tape before starting to glue your work next to them, would that work to keep them from getting stuck together?
That’s a good idea! I wouldn’t want it to bunch up in between though. So far not a problem as long as I am careful with the thinset.
Hi Julie, where can I buy the deep bezels for making the pendants? How deep should they be?
I buy mine from Amate Studios. Their bezels are all deep enough. Nothing too shallow.
