Turn your car off. Remove key from ignition. Remove all USB cables. Open drivers door all the way for 5 minutes. This resets it and you’ll be able to delete devices. No lie.

On a 2017 I go through similar steps but when I click yes delete the button go from highlighted to unhighlighted and nothing happens.
