Our wedding song 56 years ago......and that's a long long time. Heading to 57 years married.
Johnny will live in our hearts forever. I had the pleasure of hearing Johnny perform at my high school assembly (Balboa High -SF) for two years, before he graduated from Washing High (SF). So glad we were able to exchange talents from our schools. I wonder if they still do that?

How thankful i am that i had access to my parents' 45s growing up. 4 wonderful boxes that contained the likes of Johnny Mathis, Eddie Fisher, Doris Day, Andy Williams, Connie Francis. People whose artistry continues to bless me to this day. I've been lucky enough to see live Andy Williams (2008), Johnny Mathis (2009) and Connie Francis (2010).

Saw Mister Mathis at Melody Tent in Hyannis on Cape Cod 20 years ago and also when listened to him in records in 1963. I am now 72 years old still on Cape Cod and have been blessed by Mister Mathis near all my life long since my own twelfth of never many times other❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I was struggling one day. Sent my child off on a plane to his mothers. I walked back through the airport and heard a melody coming from a restaurant and it pierced me. I got close enough to hear. I saw Johnny Mathis in concert in Portland, Oregon twice way back in the day. I'll never forget when he sang "Maria" acapella. Put chills down your spine and brought tears to your eyes. I don't think he ever got the recognition he deserved for having one of the most beautiful voices in pop music. He should be right up there with Sinatra and Jack Jones.
Is there a possibility that Johnny Mathis having a better voice would steal n still their thunder? Secondly, not being their preferred skin color played in their decision? Whatever the reason, Johnny M. Wasn’t worried as he triumphed after both left a while ago! Ironic, ‘the best last’!

@@bertharuiz1225 It's a matter of taste, I find his consistently elongated, wavering timbre to be a little off-putting compared to Sinatra's croon. A beautiful voice, no doubt about that, but he could've dialled the melodrama back a bit. YMMV.

Our community lost a really good friend. I talked with him during Intermission at a Johnny Mathis theater concert. Johnny was still in good voice. Our friend told me about an outdoor concert Johnny Mathis gave at Texas A&M. This is way before cell phones with a flashlight. This is late 50's early 60's, the lights go out and Johnny Mathis continues to sing, song after song, from memory; and for the audience a special time to remember. Can you imagine being with your special date, lights out, and hearing the "12th of Never"?

I saw Johnny Mathis in 1969 at Opera Theatre in Chicago. He is one of the Best ever. 50 years later this song is dedicated to my Bride Lynda. God Bless Him

I went to S. F. State with Johnny and was on the track team with him. I ran the distance races and he was our high jumper. He tied a world record when he jumped 12+ inches over his own height. Ray Kaufman was our coach and Johnny came back to talk to us after his music career started. This is his best song

I started singing this song to myself while trying to get to sleep last night. I guess that Johnny Mathis beautiful ballad which was an old folk song was embedded in my mind. I had every eight track, and cassette of this amazing man when I was in my younger days. I feel so bless to have and still can listen to this timeless voice of Johnny Mathis!~

I had the rare privilege of being at one of Johnny Mathis' first live performances: In 1957 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles. A Great Concert!
