My Favorite wine
Noice. Any particular brand?
Im not a big wine/alcohol drinker. But my gf loves red wines. I never liked it and she recommended white wine. I picked up a bottle of Pinot Grigio called Da Vinci. I gotta say, I love the taste! Think I found a favorite wine. This video is informative for sure, thx!
Thank you Zach! Yeah, PG is pretty accessible and I think that's why it's the #1 selling wine in the USA. The DaVinci brand is pretty solid. Cheers!
@@wine-living cheers to you, my friend! Liked and subscribed
@@_z0rrk happy holidays. Stay safe and healthy.
Nice! Thank you. Love Pinot Grigio. Clean and crisp.
Thanks for watching!
The only white for my pallet is Pinot Grigio. Great simple informed video, cheers :)
Cheers and thanks for watching! Have you ever tried Ribolla Gialla before? It's a white wine from the same part of Italy and I think, if you like PG, you'd like this one too. A bit more full-bodied and rich, but clean and intense.
I have always been more of a spirits guy rather than wine or beer. However, recently had an excellent bottle of KENDALL JACKSON PINOT GRIS VINTNERS RESERVE and it changed my mind.
More wine music please. :D
Wow... that was unexpected and fun.... Don't you love the names of wine :) .... You made the name of the wine, match their character with all your information and then your song! so good .... :) ~Elizabeth
Wild Woman Enchanted thank you for watching!
Very nice 👍
Thank you!!
First time trying this today
That's great. Let me know how it was!
Very good video, I come from Alsace France and even Pinot Gris can be more expensive than the one your mentionning. Grand Cru Pinot Gris can cost more than 35$ a bottle. Thank you for your very interesting videos.
Thanks for watching Théo. I love Alsace. We visited a few years ago and I actually have a video if you're feeling homesick. ua-cam.com/video/m8MUJXpUhX0/v-deo.html
Swell video. Actually learned something, a little knowledge ain't never bad. Pinot Grigio is my fav wine. I used to really dig Ecco Domani and Mezzacorona but recently discovered Tisdale from, of all places, California. To me, most west coast whites (wines not folks) are way too fruity. Reminds me of my 1960's youth drinking Yago. Thanks for posting an interesting video.
Thank you, Marty! To get some really interesting, delicious and amazing versions of Pinot Gris/Grigio, look to the far northeast of Italy in a region called Friuli. They make it more in a Germanic style, so smooth and fragrant. 🥂 Cheers
@@wine-living... Thanks for the heads-up. I learned a long time ago (I'm 70 now) that wine enjoyment is all about what "tastes" good to you. Not price, label or country. I too prefer European wines but enjoy wines from many different regions. Fell outta love with beer and hooch years ago and am now a full fledged wino!
The biggest surprise in this video was the metal inspired tapping lick in the end.
Haha! Yup. I'm an old metalhead. I grew up on Van Halen, Priest and Maiden. I'll have to break out the electric on another video. Thanks for watching!
Hi, really good video. Just wonder, should the pronunciation Pino Gri or Pino Gris, thank you
Thanks for watching. The multiple ways that I pronounce it in the video, are the correct ways.
Can you please make a video on Bordeaux blend and all the other blend which exists.....
Good idea!! Yes, I'll put it on my list!
Thumb up for the song😁
Thank you!!
Last year, Americans drank more than $1B worth of Pinot Gris/Grigio. Why is it so popular? Which style or brand do you prefer? Drop me comments here!
Background music sounded like "Dreams" by Fleetwood Mac.
I think that everytime I hear it too. Great tune, so mellow and relaxing. I think that's why I chose it. Cheers!
Another great video. Prefer the Italian grigio. Not so keen on the French ginger/honey flavour.
For the longest time I would choose a white wine in my Risotto, opted for the Pinot Grigio only because it was produced locally (Mornington, Victoria) and for $9 a bottle I couldn't resist.
Turns out, I rather liked the taste and have since substituted my occasional beer for a wine. I began experimenting and found many wines unpalatable, due to my commonness no doubt. I will try the Pinot Gris in future and give other wines another chance perhaps. Appreciate the video and thank you for sharing.
HI Nina, it depends on how you're prepping the risotto... if you top with veggies, whites tend to work better. If you top with truffles or cheese, red is better. Check out my video about making risotto, in the food and recipes section. Cheers!

This man is hilarious. 1) Morgan from 'The Mindy Project'. 2) he reminds me of that super nice cousin who is crazy into his hobby and loves to break it down to you. But seriously I've spent the last hour on your channel, you are legit and I really appreciate the videos!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words, Taylor. It means a lot to me. I hope you're staying safe and healthy in these strange times.
Have you chosen a supermarket pinot grigio to represent this variety in Italy? Santa Margherita was a successful wine in the 60s today it has been surpassed by many producers both in Friuli and in Alto Adige. Try Ronco del Gelso: PINOT GRIGIO “SOT LIS RIVIS” and then you will tell me.
I just wanna say that bottle of santa margherita is $26 where I live...
It has become very popular and (overpriced) in my opinion. I think it used to be under $20 but now you're right, it's about $24 in PA where I live.
That’s cheap in Florida it’s $80+
Is this a dry or sweet wine?
It's a dry wine! Thanks for watching!
nice song lol
Haha! Glad you like. Thanks for watching Joshua.
Pinot Gris grows in Alsace, not Burgundy. Burgundy whites are almost exclusively Chardonnay.
Hi Robert. Pinot gris originated in Burgundy, as my video says. It's one of several mutations of the Pinot family which in turn comes from the ancient Burgundian grape, Gouais blanc. Chardonnay is also an offspring of Gouais blanc too. While Chardonnay is the *predominant* white grape in Burgundy, Pinot Gris, along with Pinot blanc, both are still grown and used there, to lesser extent.
Thanks for stopping by and watching. 🍷
As a broke college student. I get mine from a box and live happily
