- Lets Talk PINOT GRIGIO - What you need to know about this POPULAR grape
Pinot gris, pinot grigio or Grauburgunder is a white wine grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera. Thought to be a mutant clone of the pinot noir variety, it normally has a grayish-blue fruit, accounting for its name but the grapes can have a brownish pink to black and even white appearance. The word pinot could have been given to it because the grapes grow in small pine cone-shaped clusters. The wines produced from this grape also vary in color from a deep golden yellow to copper and even a light shade of pink and it is one of the more popular grapes for skin-contact wine.

Listening to your charming accent is as enjoyable as drinking that Pinot Grigio. Cheers mate
Just a little Sunday, funday drinking 🍸😜
Enjoy!
Another great video. Cheers....
I started my WSET education. About to take my lvl 2 exam. Thank you so much for doing this, your channel is absolutely amazing and so helpful for recap of everything we learn.
Thank you!
Amazing information. Thank you for sharing this.
No worries. Thankyou for watching
I prefer a simple and refreshing Pinot Grigio in the summer to be enjoyed in the park in the sun where I won’t have to worry too much about having the right type of glass. Just open the bottle and enjoy the refreshing acidity and light body of the wine
Sounds good to me.
I find its balanced. Its got sweetness, tartness, bitterness, and dryness. Its got it all but, nothing over rides the others. I like it.
Well said!
Thank you😊 really
Cheers
Very useful vidoe sir...
Thanks Ashok
I’ve never had the Alsace Pinot Gris before; I only knew the grapes as Pinot Grigio and that is was a wine. That being said, Alto Adige is my favorite region. The wines are simple but that’s the point of Pinot Grigio, simple and easy drinking which some wines are meant to be.
Great comment
Pair with something like pretzel-crusted walleye with capers and mustard sauce.
Thanks for the recommendation
Great video, greetings from Russia✌
Very interesting Video. Problem with Pinot Grigio is that you really can find so mnay differnet ones and sometimes very confusing for consumers
Agree.
Talking about misleading color of the bottle. I found it's the same with Portuguese Vino Verde bottles, that usually have (or at least those that i have tried) this blueish color that makes the vine look greenish -)
I prefer warmer climate first, followed by Alsace style Pinots. Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching.
Having some Pinot Grigio , Santa Margherita from Italy. I really like it, it's a bit pricey. Here in the states, "La Crema" has a Sauvignon Blanc that I'll try next.
I've been alternating between the two varietals.
Nice review
Cheers. Always good to have different varietals on the go.
It is an easy drinkable wine
It sure is.
I like the light not too complicated taste. .
Yeah really popular style
Can anybody tell me
What website can I order a bottle of non alcohol wine
Depends on your location. There are a number of online providers
@@TheGrapeExplorer can you tell me one of them I searched up non alcoholic wine and no good sites came up
@@denijuamosley6283 Without knowing where you are based I can't tell you. I Google 'No alcohol wine UK' and get plenty of useful links
@@TheGrapeExplorer ok thank u
How can I complain about the bottle of wine bought with someone's tooth in it
2 weeks without a grape explorer video is too long.......
I'm sorry. Sometimes my usual job and life get in the way 😜
This isn´t a grape I like much in either style but if I far orefer it in the cooler climate Grauburgunder style. I find the wines have more palate authority and I find it doesn´t do badly as a grape for natural or organic wines.
