Happy to see you on a GS. I, like you , have been a great fan of the Roadster series, owning an 850, 1200 and lastly, the 1250. I did love those bikes but finally changed to the GS this year. I absolutely fell in love with it. Even at 5ˋ7 , having the lowered suspension and lowered seat , i now feel extremely comfortable on it. It is amazing how this big bike handles so easily, with its momentum working for it. Great for touring and some off-road. Thinking about a windshield extender to cut down on buffeting. It has all the torque and power that you can ever need or use. If money is not an issue, definitely a bike to consider as all-rounder. Thank you for sharing and all the efforts going into making this video….great job.

Hi JVL, thanks once again for watching and taking the time to comment. I do think this will be a bike I will end up owning at some point. I was really impressed with how much fun it was despite its obvious practical nature. Glad you liked the video and many thanks for your kind comments.
All the best best and of course when your out next please do… Ride Safe!

Lovely bike, great review, for over 21k you'd think bmw would throw in a better screen?? Bmw salesman are not normally willing to throw anything in because as you walk out there's always somebody that'll walk in later and just pay the money.

Hi Richard, thanks very much for viewing and taking the time to comment. It is a real shame that the screen is not better. On the RT1250 that I tested a few months ago I felt totally shielded from all the elements and that is what I would expect here but alas no! Other than that one thing the bike was totally amazing.
Thanks again for watching and when your out next please do Rides Safe!!

@@TheWrittleRider when i bought the Busa you can see in the profile picture back in 2007 , i got the dealer to throw in on the deal a Thatcham alarm on it, my mate at the very same time bought a BMW k1300 if i can remember, just before they bought out the 1000 sportsbike, he paid through the nose for everything, right down to some extra stickers on the tank? When i questioned him on it he said " if you want a BMW, you've got to pay" somewhat put me off of BMW'S 🤣🤣🤣🤣 , ill probably end up with a Gs one day but i don't want my trousers pulled down 🤣🤣 ,be safe, enjoy your video's, keep um coming 👍🏻

I understand totally what your saying on the pricing with BMW, you have to not think about the money, if your lucky enough to be able to! I am yet to get round to the Japanese side of things with Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki etc but will hopefully crack that next season. Thanks again ... Next video will be up hopefully next week ....

the r1250rt is just the same in handing etc easy to ride fast or slow. Will be picking my new RT next. expensive yes.but you have to ride them to understand how good they are. big convert to BMW. did expert that.

      Hi Paul,
Thanks for taking the time to view and to comment. I really liked the RTLE that I reviewed a few months back and when I was at Cannon BMW as I arrived back some chap was looking at moving from and RT onto a low version of a GS. They do have a similar feeling of comfort and control for sure.
The screen on the RT was much better through… literally cocoons you from the outside world!
Thanks again and when your out next … Ride Safe!

Took delivery of my 1250GSA a couple of months ago, it is an incredible machine and great fun. I'm 6'4" but not had the wind/noise issues. I do have the seat on the lower setting so it's possible my head is tucked just that little bit lower out of the wind. I don't get the 'silky smooth' gearbox though. When using the shift assist (clutchless) it's supersmooth, but when using the clutch it's like it has a bag of gears down there and will find one in a minute. Maybe first service/oil change etc will aid that. We'll see. Thanks for the vid, enjoyed that.

Hi Madengman, thanks very much for watching and your informed opinion. Glad to hear you own one of these because I loved this bike! I think the gears will give a little / smooth out in time but definitely on the one I rode no issues at all. BMW said some of the wind noise comes up through the forks also so may not have only been a screen issue. I hope you have many thousands of miles of adventures to come on your new GSA!
Thanks again and of course when your out next please do… Ride Safe…

Bmw brakes are made by Hayes a US company ..... Hayes US is Brembo lol
So when you buying one ? I have a 1250GS HP smaller fuel tank 200miles love it just get screen extender at high speed flip it up lol
I'm glad you enjoyed it great video

Hi Chris, thanks for taking the time to view and to comment.I think in the future when I change my bike (or if I come into some money before that!) I will definitely get one. Absolutely amazing bike… all the bike you will ever need! On the brakes point, Jas at Cannon BMW was telling me that apparently they were not totally happy with Hayes and so were actually moving back to Brembo but if they are the same company it seems odd they cannot make both sets of brakes without issues. Thanks for the advice on the screen extender as when I get one I definitely need to sort the wind noise out!
All the best and when your out next… Ride Safe!

@@TheWrittleRider Brembo do indeed own Hayes. The Hayes caliper are not monobloc like Brembos (i.e. Brembo branded) but composed of two halves. The Hayes stop as well as the Brembos but bite very quickly and lack the progressive feel of the Brembos. And you are correct, UK bikes are being switched back to Brembos.
The indicators are self cancelling, and are dependent on time and distance

      @TheWrittleRider  3 роки тому +1

@@samsara3694 thanks for your comments and for viewing it’s very much appreciated. I never totally trust self cancelling indicating on a bike anyway to be honest but do like it to work easily if it is advertised as being on the bike! Not quite perfect I would say for me… all the best and ride safe…
