The "wolves" with longer front legs and a sloped back could be some sort of cave hyena which could grow up to well over 200 lbs. I've always preferred prehistoric mammals even over dinosaurs as many of them coexisted with humans and watching these videos about the nahanni valley I could recognize some of them such as short faced bears, american lions, ground sloths, and stag mooses.
Is the wolves an Isle Royale an island in Lake Superior Crossed over in the early 1900s when Lake Superior froze and they became stranded on the island along with Moose. Eventually the wolves began to inbreed and they ended up with a mutation that left them with a 13th vertebrae in their back making the wolves slightly longer than typical wolves and they have been known to grow to large size. During a Winter survey they found one such wolf that way 202 pounds (100 Kilos) that is on display in the visitor center. It is also the longest wolf/moose survey conducted and is still ongoing. I went there several times in the nineties. The wolf population peaked at about 52 wolves and eventually they began to die off from inbreeding and the government tossed around the idea of bringing in an outside wolf To bring in new genetics and limit inbreeding. Of course, the fact that the government took over this responsibility means that red tape and bureaucracy held up the transfer of a new wolf for 20 years until eventually all the wolves died off. Typical result of anything a government oversees! So much red tape and bureacracy that nothing was done until it was too late and all the wolves died. Leave it to the government to ruin a beautiful population of wolves and delicate ecosystem. Without the wolves the moose population exploded along with disease among the moose which then killed off almost a 1000 of the moose. Eventually they inserted new wolves but have had Limited success with propagating a new breeding population.
26:20 sent chills down my spine. I’m a trucker and I had an identical experience near the border of Colorado and NM. It was a huge white animal, and it behaved the same way as described. Seemed to stand in the middle of the road, look at me and then almost dodge out of the way of my vehicle. It bounded from the left into the middle and off again just as described. I got the impression it was intelligent. I told some friends about the experience and dismissed it as being a normal wolf as I’ve never seen many wolves. I’m not under the delusion of being gifted and I never assumed the huge white wolf to be a supernatural or remarkable experience but the eerily similar story just utterly froze me.
Ahhh....don't doubt your self and your experience, but things like this always have to be kept to yourself unfortunately. People look to tear you down for it, often out of a certain jealousy over not having had that experience themselves.. I like to sky watch at night. Never with the intention of seeing anything in particular, I just enjoy laying out in open fields or just on the roof of my house and watching the sky, the stars and moon. Just enjoying the night. I've seen strange lights on many occasions, but once I saw a triangular shaped ufo that can down and hovered roughly 800-1200 feet off the ground and moved slowly (20-30mph) around town, west, then north, then back east. Then all of a sudden it picked up speed, fast, and went well beyond supersonic in the distance of 1 to 1/1/2 miles distance and disappeared into the horizon. Close friends that know me to be completely honest scoffed at me when I told them about it. Fuck people. What you saw was meant for you to see.

Not doubting your sighting, I've seen some strange animals myself, so they are out there (though, you would've lost credibility if you claimed it was bulletproof as I'm sure even a beardog couldn't stop a bullet) I'm just saying!
I enjoyed that. In 2013 I bumped into a lone wolf while hiking in Idaho with my 90lb rott/shepherd mix dog. Up close & personal its build proportions in comparison with my big dog were very different. It dwarfed him. It was oddly long, tall, spindly, lanky & sinewy while at the same time it was absolutely heavy duty. Quite a large head - broad cranium and very long snout & jaws. It towered on those long legs. Its feet were wide & accentuated. An interesting encounter, they're impressive critters. Its easy now to see why they are the muse for so much lore
I love the Nahanni Valley stories. There are river valleys all over the world which seem archaic when you enter them. Many are isolated by terrain from a lot of human activity. Most in the US are to small to support unique fauna but many have unique flora.

I’m in BC’s interior now, and have had a handful of wolf sightings, but the largest wolf I’ve seen was in northern Ontario, about 15kms east of the shores of Lake Superior. Taking its winter coat into consideration, I still believe it was 150lbs! I’ve had large dogs all my life, the biggest being a Labrador/German Shepard cross called Sam. He was a huge 120lbs and could put his paws on my shoulders and virtually look me in the eye! This wolf was easily 25% larger. I was waaay to close to him, for comfort, so, I got a good look - but that’s a story requiring more two finger typing than this old man is prepared to do! lol. Peace
When I was stationed in Alaska I visited small museums in my off time - In one was a stuffed wolf that I assumed had to have been "assembled" from the pelts of 2-3 - the native man at the museum assured me it wasnt - the top of its head was at my shoulder and I'm 6'1" what a magnificent beast - I'll never forget it

Hello, I found your channel just the other day and I've been watching as much of your content as i can. I was born in Vanderhoof and raised in Fort st James. I've lived in mid BC my whole life and heard many different native stories at school and from friends about all kinda of creatures in the forest. And I've hunted with my father and grandfather for many years. We've come across some huge animals on our hunting trips but nothing like this. My encounter with a "Waheela". It was August 14th 2015, i was on the way from my hometown of Vanderhoof to Kitamat with my at the time ex fiance. We had just passed the scales at the turn off for Kitamat from Terrace, it was about 3:30 am at this time. I had been driving for about 15 minutes or so after the turn off, we rounded a corner and the apex of a hill. Standing in the middle of the road no more than 60 feet in front of my car, stud a dog? As i got closer and slowed down i noticed it was no dog i had ever seen before. This "wolf" thing, stud no more than 5 feet at its shoulders. If i had to guess, this beast was at least 200 pounds. It didn't look healthy though. Small pointed ears and what looked to be a flattened less dog like head. I didn't get a good look at it legs or tail, but it looked old and haggard. At first glance it had a midnight black coat, once it notice the vehicle coming it's as if a blizzard fell on this creature. His starck black coat quickly changed to a bright snow blinding white with my high beams on. I've seen many different wolves in the wide but never have i laid eyes on such a massive intimidating beast before. It turned it's gaze towards my car, and the only way i can explain the look this creature gave me. Was as if i just walked into it's home and burnt it down. I could not hear the beast do to my music and absolut shock at what i was witnessing. But i swear i could feel it's growl. I still have no idea what i seen but i do know that was no normal wolf nor dog. I was now no more than 20 feet from this creature. starring into my soul it then leaped from the center of the double passing lane into the forest on my left. I'll never forget this encounter with what i now believe to be a Waheela.

Spending time in the deep north woods i have been hunted by wolves and i can tell you it's a very very unnerving deal. The woods do get eerily quite. Never go into the woods without two guns and a serious machete/ sword. I now run a 9mm sbr and carry a .45 as well as a nice sword in my pack also usually a machete. May seem like allot to bring but after that night of being chased i will never be without my pistol. The .22 we had with at the time did not phase them. If they want you dead they will kill you and if you see one that's the worst thing because they are very good at attacking from where you would least expect.
The prehistoric North American Hyena was very canid in appearance rather than looking like modern hyenas, that could explain the sloping posture, scavenger habits, smaller ears and loner habits. I believe there has once or twice something like this scene in Montana.
I too thought of some form of American Hyena based on the description, but I have no information indicating any form of Hyena is native to North America.
@@williamneal7210 it's possible that it could cross the Bering Land Bridge. From Asia to North America. Cause from what I know there are Hyenas in Europe And may have moved to asia and cross the land bridge to the americas during the last ice age.
@@usmanya5110 Distinctly a possibility! It would be amazing to find something in the fossil record some day to substantiate, but still, no reason to assume it couldn't have happened.
There's a great old BBC documentary series from the early 90's called "The Velvet Claw" and it has episodes that delve into different mammalian carnivore lineages that arose after the extinction of the dinosaurs. I believe there are episodes that cover the amphicyonidae/beardog's though it struggles to explain the species extinction. A later episode talks about specialists and generalists and how carnivores that typically specialize on specific prey items tend to be more vulnerable to extinction than generalists. It is a curious question though as to why the beardog species went extinct, especially when you look at North America even as recently as colonial times there were gigantic herds of millions upon millions of bison, there was likely even more diversity and abundance in ungulate and herbivore species way back when beardog's were around and the beardog's had advantages that several top carnivore species have today as well as being at the top of the food chain. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they might have become an extremely rare solitary creature roaming vast distances, though it is hard to imagine how a population of such a creature would sustain itself over time.

Many years ago when I was a Hunting guide and trapper I had an old cree wrangler who told me about what he called a 'polar wolf' that sounds remarkably like the animal you describe. Among other things it was supposedly impossible to kill. I figured it was just another fairy tale, maybe it wasn't?
200lb wolf is very believable. I hunt the Adirondacks of NYS. I used to think coyotes couldn't get past 75lbs but in 2005 a 115lb coyote was taken. Behemoths exist in all species and the more they breed the more there will be.
Totally agree Canada Alaska and all the arctic wilderness can produce tons of monster size animals not just the predators but we also see moose and other animals that break the norm and are just huuuge even by moose standards. If prehistoric or ice age species were to survive these are the places they’d be especially in the late 19th and early 20th century . I don’t know why so many people don’t think these beasts could possibly be out there just because their library doesn’t have a book saying there is lol
@@paysonterhune290 the coyotes in upstate new york are huge due to having a ton of wolf DNA. What we call coyote out here in the woods of upstate are the wolf coyote cross. They have wolf like tendencies. They run in packs and comunicate vocally like wolves. They howl and sing beautifully. They dont have that yip, shrill sound most cyotes have. Population exsploded about 3 years ago where i live. We had 2 packs on the farm property. Got several of our sheep this past summer. No one hunts the land anymore so they have had free reign. They dont bother the horses.. well adult horses.... they come rite up close to my house at times. If the winter is harsh they get real brazen. Most mornings there are tracks around the sheep barn. Guess the kids and i are just used to them.... wont let the kids go out in the woods without a rifle and a farm dog. They mostly dont bother with people. But been chased on a horse twice. Had friends bow hunting that where trapped in a tree for over 24 hours after he killed 5 of them and ran out of arrows. Pretty though
Truth in the city the coyotes are getting out of hand because there is nothing that kills them. I have seen some thst are larger then most medium to large regular dogos

There are reports from the locals throughout northern Nevada of grossly oversized animals being seen too . Like a 350 pound cougar , whom the fish n game also confirmed lived on my mountain. And a rancher confirmed to my prospector friend that he was not telling crazy stories, he had many times seen a porcupine thats the top of his quills were well in excess of 4 feet tall. When they ( the prospector, my friend) first saw it in the evening their first thought was a calf. Because of its size.

Now, I didn't grow up in Canadian forests but I have lived in Ozarks for most of my life. I love the wilderness as well as the legends & lore that are a part of them! These things are of very great interest to me! I have seen, heard & experienced things involving cryptids & entities in the woods many times in my life. That's why I am here watching these videos; I want to learn all that I can about the stories and legends of those (specifically Natives) who have encountered other things in the forest. Truly though, the interest that I take in these topics center around my love for nature!

I spent some a lot of time up the Yukon and made friends with the locals. They told of wolves over 200lbs, the little hairy black people and the tall hairy figure sounding like sasquatch.

I have seem some huge wolves, here in North Idaho. And not far off the beaten path either. Two I saw at night in the headlights of my pickup, dwarfed white tale deer they were chasing, and I'm sure caught and devoured.

Just a minor quibble (no, tbh not even a quibble), more a point, regarding the wee little description of the coelaecanth being, and i paraphrase, 'a living fossil, defying extinction & hanging out in remote locations & so on'.....actually the coelaecanth is just a regular fish, found across its preferred range/habitat, nowhere near extinction and is commonly found on the local fisherman's table & fossilisation/mineralisation is not a process that takes millions & millions & billions of years. There are 'fossils' a plenty available of multitudes of todays modern living animals (though hardly ever publicised for some reason hmmm?) .....in fact, up at Old Mother Shipton's cave by me ya can put any item in the cave... a teddy bear, ya grandpa's top hat, a deceased pet, etc....when ya return in 3 - 12 months later it'll be a rock, fossilised, for all intents & purposes, & can then be used as a bookend or a doorstop or whatever the owner desires. I saw a Waheena, no kidding, turned out to be a gigantic malamute, up close, petted him. Most beautiful wolf like dog I ever saw, ever. He was huge, like the Waheena is described, whitish, too, beige and tawny, so fluffy, he dwarfed his owner; a man and his pet, traveling through our area, on the coast of N.Cal, lucky me to see it. I thought the man was the malamute's pet....

How much distance is there between the Nahani-River Valley and the place where the Franklin Expedition got stranded? ...and why do I have the weird feeling THIS..."forgotten beast" is at the origin of that whole "monster idea" behind the series of "The Terror"? The thought of 200 pound wolf that you wouldn’t even notice because of the white fur in the snow creeping up on you is terrifying but it’s actually heart breaking that it’s gone without archaeological evidence, it’s not even crazy to imagine. Instead of hunting young deer like most wolf packs, they have the ability to hunt young moose AND large deer because the advantage of almost hundred pounds and most important camouflage compared to grey wolf ect. much like the arctic fox compared to red fox. For some reason I have a feeling it became spiritual almost for native tribes to harvest the white pelt and maybe that’s why they died out? But that seems unlikely because it’s unlike indigenous Canadians to over hunt especially rare animal (example spirit bear which is also white but different then polar bears)

I’ve heard the skin w ranch dire wolf story around a dozen times but this is the first I’ve heard that it was pet by the children . Also that the dad shot the wolf twice and on the third it left slowly but showing no pain or real worry . Wonderful episode. Ivan Sanderson was an amazing person! So many remote pockets of the earth that have not been fully explored yet, and may never be so, How can one say that there are no unknown species still in existence?!. We should listen to the aboriginal tribal members and consider their "stories" seriously. They are clear as to say what is a tribal "story" and what is fact, Take the Thunderbird for one. Several commercial pilots have stated they witnessed huge raptors with wing spans the size of a piper cub. Stating that is potentially putting their career line. New species of animals are regularly discovered. Why would someone risk their reputation by fabricating a story? Furthermore, pilots must be observational at all times and accurately aware of their positioning at all times. The natural world is a mysterious place.
The white fur might’ve cause the wolf to Be booted by the pack and now that it’s a lone wolf it can eat more meat instead of sharing with a pack so gives it a reason for it to grow larger 🤷🏻♂️ idk just my thought

20:50 “…the average McKenzie wolf stands at 2’8” to 3’4”…”whereas the Waheela is estimated to stand at 3’6”. That’s only a two inch difference, which at that size is only a small percentage larger.
Would you consider accompanying me to the Nahanni Valley? Or traveling there on your own? I plan on making a trip there within the next 3-5 years. I'd like to do a 2 boat, 4/6 man group into the Valley for 3 weeks. I've got 1 person with a big enough sack to go with me.. Trying to have an experience

When I was stationed in Alaska I visited small museums in my off time - In one was a stuffed wolf that I assumed had to have been "assembled" from the pelts of 2-3 - the native man at the museum assured me it wasnt - the top of its head was at my shoulder and I'm 6'1" what a magnificent beast - I'll never forget it
Which museum? I live here and I’ve seen large wolves but nothing like that.

Hello, I found your channel just the other day and I've been watching as much of your content as i can.
I was born in Vanderhoof and raised in Fort st James.
I've lived in mid BC my whole life and heard many different native stories at school and from friends about all kinda of creatures in the forest. And I've hunted with my father and grandfather for many years. We've come across some huge animals on our hunting trips but nothing like this.
My encounter with a "Waheela".
It was August 14th 2015, i was on the way from my hometown of Vanderhoof to Kitamat with my at the time ex fiance. We had just passed the scales at the turn off for Kitamat from Terrace, it was about 3:30 am at this time.
I had been driving for about 15 minutes or so after the turn off, we rounded a corner and the apex of a hill.
Standing in the middle of the road no more than 60 feet in front of my car, stud a dog? As i got closer and slowed down i noticed it was no dog i had ever seen before.
This "wolf" thing, stud no more than 5 feet at its shoulders. If i had to guess, this beast was at least 200 pounds. It didn't look healthy though. Small pointed ears and what looked to be a flattened less dog like head. I didn't get a good look at it legs or tail, but it looked old and haggard. At first glance it had a midnight black coat, once it notice the vehicle coming it's as if a blizzard fell on this creature. His starck black coat quickly changed to a bright snow blinding white with my high beams on.
I've seen many different wolves in the wide but never have i laid eyes on such a massive intimidating beast before.
It turned it's gaze towards my car, and the only way i can explain the look this creature gave me. Was as if i just walked into it's home and burnt it down. I could not hear the beast do to my music and absolut shock at what i was witnessing. But i swear i could feel it's growl.
I still have no idea what i seen but i do know that was no normal wolf nor dog. I was now no more than 20 feet from this creature. starring into my soul it then leaped from the center of the double passing lane into the forest on my left.
I'll never forget this encounter with what i now believe to be a Waheela.

Spending time in the deep north woods i have been hunted by wolves and i can tell you it's a very very unnerving deal. The woods do get eerily quite. Never go into the woods without two guns and a serious machete/ sword. I now run a 9mm sbr and carry a .45 as well as a nice sword in my pack also usually a machete. May seem like allot to bring but after that night of being chased i will never be without my pistol. The .22 we had with at the time did not phase them. If they want you dead they will kill you and if you see one that's the worst thing because they are very good at attacking from where you would least expect.
The prehistoric North American Hyena was very canid in appearance rather than looking like modern hyenas, that could explain the sloping posture, scavenger habits, smaller ears and loner habits. I believe there has once or twice something like this scene in Montana.
I too thought of some form of American Hyena based on the description, but I have no information indicating any form of Hyena is native to North America.
@@williamneal7210 it's possible that it could cross the Bering Land Bridge. From Asia to North America. Cause from what I know there are Hyenas in Europe And may have moved to asia and cross the land bridge to the americas during the last ice age.
@@usmanya5110 Distinctly a possibility! It would be amazing to find something in the fossil record some day to substantiate, but still, no reason to assume it couldn't have happened.

This makes you wonder about the skin walker ranch wolf story! Sounds exactly the same, huge and couldn't be killed!
There's a great old BBC documentary series from the early 90's called "The Velvet Claw" and it has episodes that delve into different mammalian carnivore lineages that arose after the extinction of the dinosaurs. I believe there are episodes that cover the amphicyonidae/beardog's though it struggles to explain the species extinction. A later episode talks about specialists and generalists and how carnivores that typically specialize on specific prey items tend to be more vulnerable to extinction than generalists. It is a curious question though as to why the beardog species went extinct, especially when you look at North America even as recently as colonial times there were gigantic herds of millions upon millions of bison, there was likely even more diversity and abundance in ungulate and herbivore species way back when beardog's were around and the beardog's had advantages that several top carnivore species have today as well as being at the top of the food chain. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they might have become an extremely rare solitary creature roaming vast distances, though it is hard to imagine how a population of such a creature would sustain itself over time.

Many years ago when I was a Hunting guide and trapper I had an old cree wrangler who told me about what he called a 'polar wolf' that sounds remarkably like the animal you describe. Among other things it was supposedly impossible to kill. I figured it was just another fairy tale, maybe it wasn't?

200lb wolf is very believable. I hunt the Adirondacks of NYS. I used to think coyotes couldn't get past 75lbs but in 2005 a 115lb coyote was taken. Behemoths exist in all species and the more they breed the more there will be.
Totally agree Canada Alaska and all the arctic wilderness can produce tons of monster size animals not just the predators but we also see moose and other animals that break the norm and are just huuuge even by moose standards. If prehistoric or ice age species were to survive these are the places they’d be especially in the late 19th and early 20th century . I don’t know why so many people don’t think these beasts could possibly be out there just because their library doesn’t have a book saying there is lol

@@paysonterhune290 the coyotes in upstate new york are huge due to having a ton of wolf DNA. What we call coyote out here in the woods of upstate are the wolf coyote cross. They have wolf like tendencies. They run in packs and comunicate vocally like wolves. They howl and sing beautifully. They dont have that yip, shrill sound most cyotes have. Population exsploded about 3 years ago where i live. We had 2 packs on the farm property. Got several of our sheep this past summer. No one hunts the land anymore so they have had free reign. They dont bother the horses.. well adult horses.... they come rite up close to my house at times. If the winter is harsh they get real brazen. Most mornings there are tracks around the sheep barn. Guess the kids and i are just used to them.... wont let the kids go out in the woods without a rifle and a farm dog. They mostly dont bother with people. But been chased on a horse twice. Had friends bow hunting that where trapped in a tree for over 24 hours after he killed 5 of them and ran out of arrows. Pretty though
Truth in the city the coyotes are getting out of hand because there is nothing that kills them. I have seen some thst are larger then most medium to large regular dogos

There are reports from the locals throughout northern Nevada of grossly oversized animals being seen too . Like a 350 pound cougar , whom the fish n game also confirmed lived on my mountain. And a rancher confirmed to my prospector friend that he was not telling crazy stories, he had many times seen a porcupine thats the top of his quills were well in excess of 4 feet tall. When they ( the prospector, my friend) first saw it in the evening their first thought was a calf. Because of its size.
A 350 lb cougar!? 😆 Fuck that. I don't even want to tangle with a housecat. I've seen my cat (male) attack and chase off a Siberian Husky.

These are fantastic "legends", many truths lie within them. I'm sorry you don't find them so. Perhaps, had you been to these wilderness areas or grew up in them, like I did, you would more appreciate their history and the awesomely indescribable beautiful country that never leaves your bones.

Now, I didn't grow up in Canadian forests but I have lived in Ozarks for most of my life. I love the wilderness as well as the legends & lore that are a part of them! These things are of very great interest to me! I have seen, heard & experienced things involving cryptids & entities in the woods many times in my life. That's why I am here watching these videos; I want to learn all that I can about the stories and legends of those (specifically Natives) who have encountered other things in the forest. Truly though, the interest that I take in these topics center around my love for nature!

I spent some a lot of time up the Yukon and made friends with the locals. They told of wolves over 200lbs, the little hairy black people and the tall hairy figure sounding like sasquatch.

I have seem some huge wolves, here in North Idaho. And not far off the beaten path either. Two I saw at night in the headlights of my pickup, dwarfed white tale deer they were chasing, and I'm sure caught and devoured.

Google largest timber wolf killed in Michigan. 1935, 7'11" dressed out at 182lbs. So thats over 200 while it was running around Flint Michigan.

Just a minor quibble (no, tbh not even a quibble), more a point, regarding the wee little description of the coelaecanth being, and i paraphrase, 'a living fossil, defying extinction & hanging out in remote locations & so on'.....actually the coelaecanth is just a regular fish, found across its preferred range/habitat, nowhere near extinction and is commonly found on the local fisherman's table & fossilisation/mineralisation is not a process that takes millions & millions & billions of years.
There are 'fossils' a plenty available of multitudes of todays modern living animals (though hardly ever publicised for some reason hmmm?) .....in fact, up at Old Mother Shipton's cave by me ya can put any item in the cave... a teddy bear, ya grandpa's top hat, a deceased pet, etc....when ya return in 3 - 12 months later it'll be a rock, fossilised, for all intents & purposes, & can then be used as a bookend or a doorstop or whatever the owner desires.

I saw a Waheena, no kidding, turned out to be a gigantic malamute, up close, petted him. Most beautiful wolf like dog I ever saw, ever. He was huge, like the Waheena is described, whitish, too, beige and tawny, so fluffy, he dwarfed his owner; a man and his pet, traveling through our area, on the coast of N.Cal, lucky me to see it. I thought the man was the malamute's pet....

How much distance is there between the Nahani-River Valley and the place where the Franklin Expedition got stranded? ...and why do I have the weird feeling THIS..."forgotten beast" is at the origin of that whole "monster idea" behind the series of "The Terror"? It sure as hell looked similar to what you've been describing here from many sources, even though in the series it is never named this way (... as far as I remember... ).

The thought of 200 pound wolf that you wouldn’t even notice because of the white fur in the snow creeping up on you is terrifying but it’s actually heart breaking that it’s gone without archaeological evidence, it’s not even crazy to imagine. Instead of hunting young deer like most wolf packs, they have the ability to hunt young moose AND large deer because the advantage of almost hundred pounds and most important camouflage compared to grey wolf ect. much like the arctic fox compared to red fox. For some reason I have a feeling it became spiritual almost for native tribes to harvest the white pelt and maybe that’s why they died out? But that seems unlikely because it’s unlike indigenous Canadians to over hunt especially rare animal (example spirit bear which is also white but different then polar bears)

In the novel "The Terror" by Dan Simmons there is a gigantic polar bear - is there any basis in fact or Inuit legend about such a bear? There have been fossils found of Ursus maritimus tyrannous - a larger than modern polar region bear. Thanks.
I’ve heard the skin w ranch dire wolf story around a dozen times but this is the first I’ve heard that it was pet by the children . Also that the dad shot the wolf twice and on the third it left slowly but showing no pain or real worry . I appreciate the video though the details are everything never heard of waheela yet love it though

Wonderful episode. Ivan Sanderson was an amazing person! So many remote pockets of the earth that have not been fully explored yet, and may never be so, How can one say that there are no unknown species still in existence?!. We should listen to the aboriginal tribal members and consider their "stories" seriously. They are clear as to say what is a tribal "story" and what is fact, Take the Thunderbird for one. Several commercial pilots have stated they witnessed huge raptors with wing spans the size of a piper cub. Stating that is potentially putting their career line. New species of animals are regularly discovered. Why would someone risk their reputation by fabricating a story? Furthermore, pilots must be observational at all times and accurately aware of their positioning at all times. The natural world is a mysterious place.
The white fur might’ve cause the wolf to Be booted by the pack and now that it’s a lone wolf it can eat more meat instead of sharing with a pack so gives it a reason for it to grow larger 🤷🏻♂️ idk just my thought

20:50 “…the average McKenzie wolf stands at 2’8” to 3’4”…”whereas the Waheela is estimated to stand at 3’6”. That’s only a two inch difference, which at that size is only a small percentage larger.
Would you consider accompanying me to the Nahanni Valley? Or traveling there on your own? I plan on making a trip there within the next 3-5 years. I'd like to do a 2 boat, 4/6 man group into the Valley for 3 weeks. I've got 1 person with a big enough sack to go with me.. Trying to have an experience
