The story of the Boy and the Amarok caused my youngest nephews to try and wrestle me. For refrence, I'm 5 foot eleven and their about almost a yard tall each at age 4 and 3. I just kinda shake my head at them, and put them in air jail until they simmer down. XD
Family is the best conception. Yo triggered their reaction to loose panic, right. Overcome fear physically at the spot and take the blessings, correct. Never suckle on the wrong stone, away
I love wolves in folklore and mythology but I never knew about the Amarok. I love the duality of their character in these stories! The idea of them taking revenge by stealing a man's spirit instead of just killing him through brute force is exceptionally chilling. 😱 Glad to have you back and can't wait to see what's around the corner for this channel! ❤🐺❤🐺❤🐺
6:34 Seen enough star wars to know why that's a bad idea. They sound a lot like Loth Wolves. "Hey wolf! You got your pack back!"- Gregor "And they fight just like the boys."-Wolfe
I'm so glad you are still in business, and showing the legend of one of my favorite cryptids, thank you. I always love the stories of the Demon Wolf of Alaska, and I'm not even from there. It's always amazing on how you dig up so much of these lores and legends. How do you even find these fantastic, detailed stories in the first place? I just love these legendary stories and I love your videos with them.
The Amarok is one of my favorite wolf based creatures! Thank you for the video. The TTRP Pathfinder has them in it as magical (and intelligent) beasts. This gives me a better idea how to run them.
Im so glad your back, this was a great video. Inuit myths are so unkown and telling the stories of wolves was a great idea. One day you should do a comparison of wolves from native myths and european.
I have seen one of these legends though its hard to find info on any of them amarok, waheela or medicine wolf. But something charged me on a highway in skagit county washington at 1am one night. It was eye level with me from my cars height.. had long white somewhat gnarly hair, was raining that night and its damn eyes were yellow. Thing charged at me from behind a guardrail directly down the highway like my lights pissed it off and i almost went off the Fing road going 60 to get around him! Was unaware of its prestige until recently.
Not all Europeans viewed wolves negatively, we have the Roman legend of Romulus and Remus raised by the kindly she wolf and in Irish traditional culture the wold was viewed in a similar nature to Native Americans in a very spiritual way, it was called Mactera which means son of the land.
Ok. I went through and found all the wolves in mythology i could one day. How did i miss this one? The closest i got to this one was Assenna from Turkish mythology
To be with the pouched brothers, one has to either use his will in eyes or physical approval and the language of groans and whispers. If xou need to haul at them, Amorouk rises. With or against.
I love the story with the little boy & the Amarok. I love wolves, great video.❤
You love really easy my friend
Impressive! So glad you’re back! Keep the spirit if the wolf alive in your souls for eternity!
The Amarok is among my most favorite of all mythical creatures, and featured in my own fantasy book, which I hope to turn into a series.
Just make sure you're respectful to the real world culture that created this creature.

I just love these legendary stories and I love your videos with them.
This thing reminds me of the wolf spirits from Princess Mononoke.

Wonderful! I learn something new about mythology every time you upload a new video.

We did something similar to that a few months ago with our Wolves in Mythology episode!
Thanks for all your hard work on this, great way to end the day.
I just discovered your channel a week ago, and immediately binge watched all of your videos! I was so excited to see a new upload! Thank you!
My friend has a big white husky named Amarok.
That may be the single best comment that we've ever had on one of our episodes!
Thank you for another video of these beautiful creatures! ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome!
The Amarok is one of my favorite creatures in mythology.
Excellent video
Wonderful legend, beautifully told. Thank you!
Awesome
Thank you for the video I've heard of this legend in Alaska a long time ago 🐺
Great stories. I can't afford feeling like humans are always either greedy or stupid in so many occasions.

The art work is stunning. 3:47 caught my eye.
What I love about mythology is that there's so much of it that I'll be learning mythology I never knew about until I die. 😀
Wonderful episode! I'd never heard of the Amarok, very cool! 😎 🐺 👏
Oh Wow !!! This is beautiful !!! 🥰
It's been so long and I love doggies!
Seen God of War Ragnarok?
Fenrir is both fearsome and adorable!
Perfect and on werewolf Wednesday
I always wondered about this story. Don't ask. So thank you for the video.

Do more indigenous myths please? Also I’ve heard the Waheela, the white death as a large cat like creature instead of a wolf.
Ok. I went through and found all the wolves in mythology i could one day. How did i miss this one? The closest i got to this one was Assenna from Turkish mythology
❤🤍💙 all your videos mate👍
Could you do a video on the Japanese wolf gods Okami and The Okuri-inu yokai? Also the Wolf god in the Ainu culture?Thank you for you amazing videos.
We can do those in the future!
Ah yes….my favorite, :D
I knew wolves aren’t seen as evil beast
Missing In Alaska had an episode that spoke of this creature!
I remember Amarok from Secret Saturdays
You mention Fenrir and Garm but there is also Gerki and Ferki and Skol and Hati :)
Any relation to Maro from Princess Mononoke?
I wonder if this is the same wolf Spirit that had something to do with another inuit legend about the adlet race
Anyone else being reminded of the Loth - wolves from Star Wars Rebels?
Sounds like the Fenris wolf's good twin.
Now that's a big bad wolf you should afraid of.
This comment coming from a cartoon 💀
Killed pups how sick and heartless
Wow!!!!!!
This might be the inspiration
for the fairy animal for Flora in Winx Club. Do you think?
Doubt it
Native American mythology is amazing, Blessed Be.
Amarok one of the inuit mythology.
Gotta say killing the pups of gigantic wolves is not a wise idea.
Looks like a good boy.
Cool
It is kind of interesting how different the mythical depiction of the same animal can be in different cultures.
With the courage of a wolf 🐺 Jungle Fury Violet wolf Ranger

Amaroq is spelled with a Q.
You left out quite a lot from the boy's tale and how he gained the respect of his people.
We needed to keep the focus on the Amarok! We certainly can revisit the story in a future episode!
I wish I could see an Amarok
Amarok vs Fenrir/Garm who win?
Wolves rule!!!! F 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
IS THAT AN ACTAUL NAME FOR THE WHITE DEATH ? SAID TO BE A SABERTOOTH TIGER OR SMILODON OF ALASKA AND CANADA ?
