Lightbulbs work straight from the electric in the wall. Just connect the two wires, right?

Why do all of that when you just need positive and common and plug it in?
He used 12v dc input. For a bulb rated 220v AC. That's why he needed the Inverter.

First one is a total waste of 555, this can be easily achieved with several npn transistors... it didn't even utilize 555, you just used it as a transistor
