Omg omg I needed the first 10 poems in the collection for the test tomorrow. You are such a lifesaver!!!!!!! Thank you. At this rate, you have only 4 left!! No pressure but really hope you do the rest! Can't wait. Again no pressure lol!!
This was so incredibly useful, i was stuck on the last paragraph of my essay for coursework and after watching I was quickly able to write a massive final paragraph while feeling like my points were really clear in my head- which is rare for me!! Thank you so much :)
This is absolutely brilliant thank you so much! You offered such new and different perspectives - it helped me enormously :) Would you say there are strong contrasts that presents tragedy/loss? thank you again :)
Thanks so much for this. I have a test tomorrow and had a hard time understanding the hidden meaning of the poem before watching the video. I can't emphasize enough how much this video meant to me
Honestly, love this! Thank you for your effort, this helped a lot! Can you please tell me an example of a Metaphor from the extract? I can't see to find it.
Aw thank you! Yeah if you go to about 14 mins in on the the form slide I talk about how the saw is a metaphor for hard work and industrial labour. Hope that does the job! X
I know, I did kind of neglect that in this one because I found the story, implications and allegory really interesting. But sorry, and thanks for the feedback!
i think that the sister scared him and broke his concentration. you never get beside someone sawing when they are not paying attention. Let alone try to yell supper at them.
Hello Again!! This video is amazing and you are a lifesaver!! I have a question. I took Robert Frost and Short Stories and i want to answer both passage based questions. Will it be a problem if i do not answer the essay questions?
Nah, man. You can answer both passages. It doesn't matter as long as you do them right. I'm doing one for each. We are doing Howards End for prose btw. So I'll just be going for the general essay question.
Howdy Patricia! Thank you for the amazing compliment - that means a lot! As my mate Hassan said, it’s totally fine to do both passage questions. All they ask is that you answer one from each section (AKA for each text). Personally I practise both passage and essay questions then decide in the exam which I’ll do depending on which question I like more. That way you have a chance to play to your strengths a bit more. For example if the passage question was about my weakest or least favourite poem, I could go with the essay question instead, and vice versa. That’s how I approach it anyway. But it’s also totally valid to decide beforehand you only want to do the passage questions. I guess that saves time memorising quotes you might not even use. Sorry lol that was a side tangent but I hope it answered your question. I feel very flattered you came to me for advice!! Best of luck with it all x
Thanks! Yeah, I realise that, but I decided I'd cover as much as I could because obviously you never know what is going to come up in the exam. Also I like the idea of different people watching the video and noting down different parts of it that they find most helpful/interesting. I definitely don't expect you to memorise every point, and you're right in saying examiners won't either, but if most people can take away a few solid points from the analysis I'm happy with that. x
This is so complex and hard to understand :( Even with your explanation. Sometimes I really don't know if I'll be able to complete my studies.. But at least it's better than nothing. Do you answer questions in the comments?
This is an interesting, fascinating poem but Robert Frost writes it so poorly that you can’t really tell what’s going on the first few readings. You have to get it explained to you to actually get it
Could be seen as poor writing, could be seen as complex writing I guess 🤷♀️ I get that it can be frustrating but sometimes that can make the reading experience even more special when you eventually do find meaning in it x
This is an embarrassingly poor reading of Robert Frost. I am quite sorry, but you have no understanding of Frost. Please do not ruin his work in this way.

The video is great, but more explanations on the literary devices(language , structure rhythm...)would be better.
