  • The Song of the Wandering Aengus is a poem written by poet William Yeats based on the Irish mythology the Dream of Aengus.
In the song of the Wandering Aengus, William yeats tell of Aengus who sees an amazing girl who calls his name and then disappears.
Aengus spends his years searching for her.
In this video, I interpret the poem, its beautiful meanings, and also the relationship with William Yeats's Personal life story with Maud Gonne and how it affected the writing of this poem.

William Yeats has always been a great poet in my opinion, it is true he did not have the best love life, but someitmes i wonder if we have to go through difficult things to produce beauty as the poems he wrote...

I always thought that what we really seek in our heart is something we will never really reach, but it is there to lead us into paths that we perhaps meant to cross. Following this desire , even without reaching it, takes us to places we never imagined, just life the unhappiness of Yeats that produced all these poems!

it is the journey that matters exactly! perhaps as he saidin the poem, Aengus will really find what he looks for but in a different world or reality :D

I loved that quote about poets at the end! I have a friend who says that the best art comes from pain and sadness and I think that is true, but I like here that you also talk about finding the joy in that process and happiness in the journey. That was really beautiful.

It is is true that it is when we are in pain, that we feel the need to write, I know I always do. It's the Paradox of Life I guess.... I am glad you liked it!!

I have heard this story before, for it was whispered by the fates as the road I would and still do walk this day, and I will walk it all the days of this life and my others, as I may have before. I tread now in the footsteps of Aengus, and I hope I, as he did, will find her again.

Perhaps the journey to reaching what we want is better than actually reaching it , just life what is happening with Yeats. I did not know there was a poem based on the dream of Aengus, was nice knowing that! great video!

I found true love. Because I wasn’t searching for perfection in her or in me.

Time and times is a measurement, it is used in the bible.
    Daniel 7
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
