It’s insane to look back and know that THIS was the first ever game theory I ever watched, I found it while watching UA-cam on my school computer six years ago. Ever since then I’ve watched these videos on and off. Man I love this channel so much, this will forever be my favorite Game theory.

The 1-Up mushrooms. Maybe they're not giving him an extra life, but rather using the mycelium to read his genetic code, then create a new Mario body, so if the old one dies, the new one is ready to go, having no knowledge that he's a plant-based clone

***** Bowser did not turned or wanted to turn the Goombas into bricks. He wants to turn the Toads into brick and stuff to help the Goombas get their kingdom back. Mario and Luigi are not infected for the same reason Peach isn't. They work for Peach. They are like ...her body guards or something. Think of the fact that Toad's are mostly useless in a fight so if Bowser comes to get her the Toads can't 'save her' ; so she need someone around for that job who is not infected or even immune like these brothers seemed to be.
The reason he didn't mention it is because mycelia doesn't have that effect. If there was evidence of that irl then he would've probably included it. Also mushrooms are fungi, you said plant-based.
These theories and videos make me realize that my entire childhood was a lie.

so, let me get this straght.
mushroom kingdom is invaded by peach and the toads, goombas (like gaijin goomba and lonely) ask for bowser's help, he repurposed the toads to become more safe and steals peach because he fancies her, they become friends wilst mario (after torchering Donkey Kong and his baby) kills and destroys everything in his path and resuces peach but before they leave everyone becomes friends, after a long time of mario being mean and evil, peach having fun with bowser wilst pretending to be indanger and bowser just trying to rule the world (as well as have a son somehow), peach finally settles down with luigi and have rosalina, peach dies, rosalina runs away and with the help of bowser and mario restarts the universe (well, to the part just after the first ever adventure)
or basicallymario: mad man.peach: loves to have a good time (if you know what i mean) being the ruler of her own creation.Bowser: loves peach, protector for the goombas, raises a son by himself (and want peach to be his mother, which kind of makes scence now) and just wants power.and apart from luigi being rosalina's father and the toads being humanoid mushrooms everyone else in the mario crew seems to be the same as we seem them as (so far at least)........ i'm going back to pokemon, it may have huge lore but not as many twists as mario does.
