@@claudiarovers9787There's an AI reactor called Disco Doc, who does parody reactions. He only listened to a few seconds of Hi Ren & dissed it, but had lots of references to lyrics from the song. Some are speculating that it's Ren making them.
He didn't know what he was getting into, he's obsessed, he's hurting, he's being asked to change, his love (music/the industry) is ghosting him. And to top it all off, he's getting drunk off [the] bar[s] but he can't pay the tab and he'll just have to pay his bill with hard labor - that's a shot at the music industry itself, boosting artists that have the money for the tab (i.e. the record labels are pouring money into advertising their "talent" and that's not Knox). Man there's a lot here

I think he is talking about a period in time where he was trying to conform himself to what you get told is "normal" or "wanted", like gentrification of already community strong neighborhoods. I also get a 'Dream' vibe from it. Like it starts when he initially stands up from the bar, and does that jerking head snap, like snapping into a dream. From that moment I think it's all in his mind. Almost like dwelling on things and putting an abstract spin on them.
This piece is a lot more art than the normal rap Knox does, great to see him branching out (Ren Inspiration perhaps?). good Stuff, man. Gonna go jump to his channel, give it another watch and a like. 👍🏻
I was thinking about the part in the elevator when he unboxes his own merchandise, then notices the Raptor standing next to him (wondering if that's a play on all those trying to come at him, when he first starts to make a name on the platform. The predators lurking as soon as you have a brand type of thing)

MacCallan 15 is tasty single malt whisky (aged 15 years). We even had Khmer Rouge bars with the killing fields. So, so many bars here. I love the depth to his songs.
His jerky movements remind me of The Hunger & the lift scene is like Illest Of Our Time. I think they're intentional visual references, a head-nod from Knox
Re: dream - at the start, the paper on the counter in front of him says “plastic dreams” - then it looks like it might be a set or album track list under that.

Fasinating Video that has more to do with Ren than I first thought. The lift Knox gets into is in the UK, the phone number on the wall is for a company in Redditch (near Birmingham). I would not like to guess who is under the mask but the filming style shares a lot with Rens work. I wonder if Sam directed it?

It's a must for me who doesn't speak English fluently and also doesn't have all the references for someone to help me understand all the double/triple meanings in song lyrics. Well done BP, not everyone can have Knox's surgical precision but you did a great job❤
The blue-eyed white walker is from Game of Thrones. The "zombies" aka the risen corpses are called white walkers, and their eyes are ice blue. The walkers are on the other side of the wall in the North. The Starks rule the north at the capital Winterfell. And North's phrase is winter in coming in the beginning and then changes when winter arrives (I forget the exact phrasing used, but it could be winter has fell[fallen]) .
The gentrify can have a bunch of meanings for Knox. Literally, the gentrification of cities, music, culture, but also he has a song called Gentrify the City about where he grew up in PG county and the video is showing the real people there rather than the gentrified parts of the city.
Winterfeld was a place in Game of Thrones stories, and white walkers were also a thing in Game of Thrones
The reference to ‘love being blind, but how it can eat you up if you let it using the reptile (Ren nod) mask. The whole predator versus hunter idea and taking the hunters battle belt just like Orion (which is better than Dotta’s false idol crown).

Can’t help seeing lots of references to Ren in this - the choice to do a one shot, use of a lift/elevator that looks like one used in a warehouse, someone in the lift with him in an “animal mask”, the reference to pigs, even the Winterfell line it sounds like he’s saying “Ren” in how he pronounces that line to me which is just before he goes in the lift and after “putting his thinking cap on” he starts to notice the animal mask next to him.
Even the whole “love is blind” idea resonates with when Ren is saying in his message live life in love, don’t hate. The whole track kinda sounds to me like Knox reflecting on that message - as if he’s heard Ren telling him to let go of the hate and feel love instead - but he’s not sure what to make of it, how to do that, when his life hasn’t prepared him for it (as he describes things that it sounds like have made him feel like he has to defend himself, that the world is a dangerous, scary place and his experience is to react to that in kind instead of with kindness)
But….I’m also hearing so many things that could be taken as shots at Dotta - intended or not, so I wonder how that will be taken. Eg king slayer being the most “obvious” one (I won’t point out the others I think could be just in case they are not as I don’t want to pour fuel on that if that wasn’t the intent).
Also noticed the paper in front of him at the start says “Plastic Dreams” - could be a reference to dreams that are artificial, not real - like wishing the world were better than it really is maybe.
Dunno - the lyrics and video are so intertwined and complex, it leaves things so open to interpretation - and how much of it is intended, how much of it is the audience bringing their own feelings and thoughts to it - which is something great art does - and yes, I think this merits that description.

I would love a Knox interview. I haven't watched your Tech 9 one (I don't really know his music yet) but I thought your Ren interview was great. Great breakdown, I listened to this at work on Spotify but definitely didn't catch most of the bars.

I think its about self love and introspection. The song muses over the protagonists life through ups and downs, starts with an existential crisis, drugs and alcohol, (fast forward got my shit together, i think) cool toilet paper scheme here. A few good drinking bars(my own double haha) crown royal maccallan 15. GOT reference but a double him being the blue eyed white boy. Cool double as well with killing buck/aim see. (Making money as an mc at 12) For me the most important part of the song which i havent seen anyone mention yet.. love is blind.. i think refers to self love. He goes in elevator and is noticably surprised to be faced with a raptor (rapper), (nod to ren, possibly is ren?) I think its meant to represent a mirror image.. he sings to it, (himself).. i guess love is blind. The elevator goes down (becoming grounded? maybe I'm reaching here 😂) ; and then the all important last scene.. again he is singing the love is blind hook, the rose , the candle, and drinking water, he is on a date with himself, showing self love... love is blind, who do we find it hardest to love.. ourselves! We abuse ourselves with alcohol, drugs, dope habits, unhealthy eating habits, sucralose, sugar (round.. pandemic, get it?) Rap is his meal ticket, his way out of it all the self destruction and learning to love himself... but love is blind.. Loving the Ella Fitzgerald sample, some smooth jazz gives this a perfect flow.. This track is 🔥

The story at its simplest (as portrayed in the video): Knox, over a drink, and perhaps drunk, is considering where he is AT in life and where he is going next. He is in his own headspace exploring stuff. This is not a look at Knox the youtube personality. Rather real Knox.

I heard it as “mass graves” as well, but now after BP interpreted it, I can also hear it as “mask rage” - the confusion might be deliberate, but it changes the possible interpretation so much, I need to know which it is :)

I can see that Knox needs a top of the line Gaffer on his team! The Lighting in some of the shots would really benefit... The camera work is great, but not 'lit' as well as it could be. If Knox was lit to create highlights and shadows on his face, it would really enhance the images. IMO😊
