Prof Karney is outstanding in his eloquence, humor and capacity to engage his audience. I wish, i had the opportunity to take his classes in person and i'm super grateful for his effort to make this one available to me.
WOW, 1st, I want 2 go 2 UCLA, 2nd, Psychology is my major, 3, what a great lecture, my goal for this 2 months and watch all of them and learn, thanks 4 da lectures, it helps when I get 2 UCLA, one day, someday, I will be a bruin >
Take the experiment he describes at 32:33 (Cohen et al) study for example. The way he interprets the study is of course taking correlation to mean causation. It could very well be that people who are in worse health are less likely to be nicer to their partners.
very good point! after all, one very easy coping mechanism to adopt is releasing pent up frustration on other people...(and their partner just happens to be there...so they unleash all their anger and frustration on their partner)... it's not a healthy coping mechanism, but a lot of people use it to cope with stress. and bad health can lead to higher levels of stress...

It is my dream to study in US. But it's just a dream that lead me there. Still don't have the courage and money to leave my own country living in another one.

Great lecturer, great course. Thanks for sharing.
LOL love the ..."then you have these other relationships, like your dentist, where you basically just rinse and spit." comment. Pure gold.

The experiments he described were pretty dumb. Correlation is not the same thing as causality. I would expect a prof from UCLA to know that.
Absolutely well done and definitely keep it up!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
