  • The winner of the South Bend gears is announced! For those interested please visit Kane Monroe's website to purchase a set of gears for your lathe. monroelawncare....
This week we have the drawing for the lathe gear set, new tooling, some viewer mail, and then we get back on the stainless steel shaft parts I have been machining in the American Pacemaker. Some pretty nice chip control, including using a form tool.
BIG thanks to AvE for giving my channel a plug last weekend. Some of the best (and funniest) videos on the tube! / arduinoversusevil
Two of my favorite AvE videos: • Making holes in Armor ...
Manly man skillz : • Manly-Man Skills: Shar...
Also be sure to check out Alex's Garage! He's fairly new to the UA-cam world but is making some great automotive and hot rod related videos! / tuffram25

Watching you cut that 3/4 radius provided quite the education. It revealed all three generations of machining experience. Lots of old school tricks.

What you do as a job and in your own shop is light years from my efforts as a hobbiest. I've machined 304 a few times and it sure as hell didn't cut like that on my equipment. Those big or at least bigger machine tools and parts are a world away from my little machines and parts. Have only been into Pensacola and Florida once. Nice place, but the humidity was unbelievable. Beautiful work on that part Adam.

    • @Abom79

Maybe Adam, but that cooler and even drier usually means snow in the winter. I've already had a couple of light dusting's last week, and I'm maybe 80-90 miles from where Ave lives. And that's the only recognized desert area in Canaduh.

@18:36 - I just got a full set at a flea market for ten bucks. The gentleman who sold them to me, didn't realize it but it was a box with 3 wooden 'shelves' inside. All of the same type of tap and dies you have. He opened the box to show me and didn't realize you could pull out each layer of tools. The original label is still on it and it appears to be all original items. Cool stuff for my collection.
