Damn EVERYTHING about this series. The writing, producing, actors, and the music!!!! EVERYTHING IS ON POINT, except for how much were given (im lying, thats on point to... keeps me hungry).
Sava we can always count on you to provide the ridiculous and outrageous comments that make absolutely no sense. It's almost as if you go out of your way to say crazy comments in exchange for a high "thumbs up" count. Are you still upset because BLACK&SEXY.TV was business savvy enough to finally make the transition to paid subscriptions? Even though, I think Issa Rae should consider the paid subscription route in the future as well. It seems like you're upset based on your "Yeah, I told BLACK&SEXY.TV" like comments.
There is no "correct way" of doing anything in the creative process. The creative process is open to multiple interpretations of how something should be portrayed. It's ridiculous to suggest that BLACK&SEXY.TV should "take notes" from Jahmela & Desmond on how this show is directed, produced, and written. As with the programming or movies one views through other media outlets, everything isn't the same. It would be boring if both Issa Rae, BLACK&SEXY.TV and other web networks offered the exact same format for developing and writing shows. Plus, the BLACK&SEXY.TV and ***** networks are friends. If you haven't noticed in the credits, Desmond also works for BLACK&SEXY.TV as well. There's more than enough room for everyone.

I loved that this episode gave insight into a character that we were quick to assume was an "antagonist" to the Robyn and Charles relationship. You see that neither are bad people, they're just people.
You know why being single sucks so bad? Bcuz we're a thirsty generation all looking for men/woman to fill voids that only Christ can even to fill. We collect bodies, souls and wounds and then carry them from one relationship to the next as they compound and multipy. Never becoming whole. Broken ppl can only attract other broken ppl. Only Christ can and will heal!

You are so right. After a broken marriage I tried filling the pain with alcohol, food , and sex. None and I mean non satisfied. Everything changed When I realized how much Christ loves me. Not loved but loves me on continued basis. Even in my short comings. I am whole and complete in him. No love between a man can come close. I thank God for Jesus!!

Nikkia Albert God has made a convenant with us through Christ to love us. The bible says that Christ took all our sins and judgement at the cross. He knew no sin and in him was no sin. He died as our substitute . Now to those that believe this , God has planted them in Christ and the bible says that he loves us just as he loves Jesus. Now meditate on that and allow it to blow your mind and fill your heart. He has changed our name from sinner to righteous and that is how the Father sees us in Christ! Righteous! Probably the most crushing words to hear from someone you love[d]...
I think this episode really depicted Charles well and explains why he is the way he is today and approaches his current relationship with slight reservation. I thought the tempo of this episode was perfect, every pause, every expression without dialogue was relevant and really helped to anchor the emotion you guys wanted to show. My heart skipped when the door knocked... I'm actually glad it was his boy who came through and not Robin as that would have detracted from the developed story in this episode.
Deep down you can tell they both still love each other... but just because you love someone it doesn't mean you have to be with them exclusively... or does it?

Watching this in 2017. You notice how Charles loves things about Nikki (her drive, her touch, etc)...but with Robyn he said "I love you." He never said that to Nikki
Seriously, seriously. This episode was so perfect! The acting, directing, music, everything! As cute as this couple was I'm still #TeamRobin. He shouldn't even think of going back to his ex and gatecrashing her wedding!

I stayed up all night waiting for this episode and it absolutely did not disappoint!!!! Flashing back to Charles's relationship with Nikki gave me a lot of insight about why it ended between them and how Charles is approaching his relationship with Robin. Clearly, Charles had no closure before he started seeing Robin and the way Nikki decided to move on wasn't cool. Communication is the key to understanding and I'm hoping that now we'll be able to see Charles's true feelings for Robin. Since she's talked to her parents, Robin should be able to find the strength to be vulnerable with Charles and let him know how she really feels. Great episode!!!!!!!!!!

I'm call this episode the sweet spot.The directing, the writing, the acting, the editing, the visual aesthetic, the music, EVERYTHING is on point. (I am binge watching BTW and this made it worth it. )

A masterpiece of MINIMALISM! I loved it! I mean to strip everything down to its essential quality without a whole lot of dialogue. The music was a perfect complement. There's no need for further improvement on this episode. This episode gave me life.
The fact that I'm a grown man and I almost cried when Charlie...oops Charles almost teared up when she dropped that proposal news on ya boy...man. Now THATS good acting! Issa Rae, you've come back with a bang this time around! and Jaemela Biggs, you're a talented writer for sure! You both have raised some web series standards with this one.

Great episode about an ex. Wow it was powerful it reminded me of my situation. You always need full closure even if it's years later...I haven't gotten full closure yet but I will. The key was so symbolic of that, it was completely over. I loved how they handle the situation so maturely. That's black and sexy baby!!

Read a content heavy book...that's heavy enough and you'll have to take your time to digest it. Also, it could've been that their flashbacks only included when he picked up the book, and that could have been at intervals, not everyday.

This episode was absolutely mesmerizing. Will Catlett is an incredible actor, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for him! In my opinion, Charlie and Robin have cute brother/sister chemistry whereas Charlie and Nikki have that intense, soulmate chemistry. Ugh everything about this was just beautiful!

..... that was everything I didn't even know I needed! This is how you tell a story with conflict, plot, and character development. It felt much longer than 15 minutes and I enjoyed every second.

I don't think people realize that Charlie and Robin have history...I believe they've always been in love but Nikki stepped in when they were younger and that's where this started. Robin isn't the rebound she just moved on with life and so did he. The first episode at the talent show showed who he really had feelings for just took them years to get it right.
I had to followup on your comment, I agree Niki was the "placeholder" girlfriend. He has always loved Robin, he was just too young to understand his emotions. Niki was the one to "help him find his way to love" as the song said in season 1.
I love the "Love Jones" feel this show has! The music is always EPIC! Well done!
Nikki girl, good-all the way-bye! You did not need to see Charles face to face to give him back that key (sentimental ribbon still intact) and tell him to be happy. He already changed the locks and found someone new and here you come reopening wounds.

I am just really impressed by the soundtrack on this episode. Seriously, it's hard to find good music on the radio today, but for some odd reason, you all know where to look and you incorporate it as the soundtrack to this series. Bravo! Keep up the good work!
FIRST cast, producers, writers, etc., yall are absolutely brilliant. Every single detail of this show has been pieced to together so beautifully. I love the way yall tell this story, from the music to the poetry to the emotion. I was so mad at Charles for letting Nikki into his place until yall told their story. But Robyn is my girl so he Charles got us f'd up! Not answering her phone calls and ish! Lol!! Loved it!!!!! 👏👏👏
WOW! This episode was beautifully scripted and beautifully shot! Did anyone else think the meat of the episode happened in the present tense cause I did! It's kinda bittersweet because I could sense that he still loves his former love her but at the same time, I didn't want him to tarnish the relationship he is currently tryin to cultivate with his current sweetheart. Man! This is my fav episode yet. 👍

I missed Robin this episode. This episode confirms that she was Charlie's rebound chick. Now I see why she was mad at him for not telling her about Nikki..mmm
And yes {as someone stated below} she should've mailed him the key. It's like she wanted to {low key} throw her engagement and happiness in his face.
I dont know if Robin qualifies as a true "rebound" chick though. I think from the very first episode they don't fully tell us how they rekindled their friendship (unless I missed something), but from him bringing flowers to her place and they mirror it with him bringing flowers after that dance performance, that says there is likely some real history. Also, when they went on their first date, and Brock says.. Robin good to FINALLY meet you.
I think Charlie has ALWAYS had feelings for Robin, and shes not simply just someone to help him get over Nikki, although it may appear that way.
Alice Davis I don't know if you remember but on the preview episode to the series it showed him seeing Robin out and about while he was having coffee and asking for her phone number.mI think that's how they met back up with each other after all those years.
Amma Appiah Yes, Nikki could have mailed that key to him, but I think she needed closer.Sometimes, you have to physically see a past lover, check to see if those feelings are still there before you completely move on. A couple days before her wedding might have been too late if she did end up still having feelings for Charlie but at least she gave him closure

Damn this reminded me so much of my first love. I moved away and we kept up the long distance for a while, but he eventually found someone else. Said he was in love with her and that he and I should be "just friends." I couldn't bear to know he was with someone else, so I decided it would be better for me to step out of his life completely as not to confuse things in his new relationship. Haven't spoken to him since that day. Not a day goes by that I don't miss him, but I know I did the right thing. They've been together for about a year and a half now.
