Non Rwby fan reacts to a RWBY Vol 9 anime fight scene. So I haven't seen or heard of this anime before. But I did a reaction to this anime openings. So I wanted to watch some more clips to get a better understanding of this anime.

this is, like, the absolutely most confusing possible fight to watch out of context lol. it's the final fight for an extremely high-concept and surrealist season where every major beat of the fight is the thematic conclusion of a character arc you have zero setup for. but at least you can still appreciate the choreography itself.
Exactly my thoughts
The English voices are the originals since the show is American. Although it's popular enough in Japan to have a dub with some pretty A-list Japanese VAs. Many of the English VAs actually started this show with zero voice acting experience. It began as a very low budget passion project, so much of the cast was just friends and coworkers of the late creator/lead animator Monty Oum. I highly recommend watching it, it's one of my favorite shows. Just be prepared for some janky animation starting out (aside from the fights, which have always been fire) due to the low budget. By volume 3 and 4 the quality really starts picking up.

yes the Anime based off the original show and the manga is called Rwby Ice queendom which the original VA's of Rwby do the english dubbed version of Ice queendom and the Japanese Dubbed version of Rwby do the voices of Rwby characters in Ice queendom
Mans watch arguably the series best fight scene out of context and had 5,000 questions. And I'm just here like "fam you really should have viewed at least a summary video and done some basic research about the show." But I supposed I shouldn't be hard on him if his interest has been bumped up to 9.
So yeah, defo watch the series.

Well actually there are 4 main characters. But this season was focused on Ruby develop after she helped all
Japanese would be considered the dub version since this is an American production. So the English voices are the original. It was originally a labor of love by Monty Oum who passed away several years back. Rooster Teeth continued the series using Monty Oum's story road map.
If you start from the beginning, you'll notice that the first 3 volumes look very pixely. The first three were created using Poser so there's a lot of washed out coloring and the only thing animated were the fight scenes while the rest of the movement and actions were mostly Motion Capture. When volume 4 production hit, they switched over to Maya while using the 3D software pluggin called "Pencil" in order to render the 3D models to have the appearance of cel-shading or give it a close-to-2D appearance like anime.. And with Maya they were able to capture 3 zone for lighting which were Lit, Shadow and Rim lighting. This is all explained in their Behind-The-Scenes on the Rooster Teeth website.
But as others suggested, start with the originally promoted Trailers" Red Trailer, White Trailer, Black Trailer and Yellow Trailer. Red, White, Black and Yellow represent the 4-girl team so they are the ensemble main characters. The character's names represent their colors.
Red - Ruby Rose (She alludes to the fairy tail = Little Red Riding Hood and in her first trailer she ends up fighting a wolf Grimm)
White - Weiss Shnee (In German her name literally means White Snow as Weiss is a take on Snow White)
Black - Blake Belladonna (Blake's name means Black and her fairy tail alludes to Beauty and the Beast. She represents both the Beauty in this as well as the Beast)
Yellow - Yang XiaoLong (Ruby's older sister from the paternal side - their father. Yang alludes to the fairy tail of Goldilocks and the Three Bears and her Chinese name [阳小龙] is literally translated to "Little Dragon of the Sun." Though "Yang" by itself means = Sun/Positive energy/Loud which goes with her personality at least in the first 3 volumes )

Mate, if you’re interested in watching a few more fight scenes to see if they’ll kick up your interest for the show, I’d always recommend Watts Vs Ironwood from Volume 7 first,
It’s a fight that’s pretty light on spoilers and really shows off the shows ability to play with its environment during fights,
A must watch!

Ruby is the only non adult character currently. Everyone else is 19.

@@OnyxheartWolf Blake turned 18 first on January 19 ( Very early 2nd semester of Beacon (since they're using most US college schedules - Beacon Shade, Atlas and Haven are considered Colleges), followed by Weiss on May 15 (close to the end of 2nd semester) and last of the adults, Yang on July 28 After 2nd semester). So those three were already 18 and adults by the time of the time skip (V4-V5)At least according to Kerry. And 18 in the US is when you're legally an adult.
But yes, Ruby is close to an adult, though she's currently 17. She won't turn 18 until the end of this month. Halloween is technically her birthday.

Warner Brothers Japan has been producing and releasing an official Japanese dub of this American show. You can import those versions from Japan if you want or....acquire them by other means. Studio Shaft also did a co-production 2D anime with Rooster Teeth called RWBY Ice Queendom, which is a side story, alternate retelling of events set between the 1st and 2nd volumes of RWBY. It was originally done in Japanese then dubbed into English.
Actually RWBY is an American created show so English is its original version. They actually have dubbed the first few season into Japanese and there is an actual Japanese series thats sort of a retelling of season 1 called RWBY Ice Queendom
So you might want to go back and watch the original Red, White, Black and Yellow trailers for RWBY, which introduce the (main) characters.
I think the biggest mandela effect in the show is that Ruby has red hair. 😆

You'll want to give the four trailers: Red, White, Black, and Yellow a watch, they're short, give insight into the characters a bit, and set up some things that happened before the events of the show proper

It's animated, but.... according to the creator (RIP), it's not anime. It takes inspiration from different sources, including anime, but it is not anime.
However, this show is so popular, there was a non canon sidestory anime made.
Also, it's not dubbed in English. English was the original VA language used.

Rooster Teeth who produced RWBY will NOT copyright strike you for showing a reaction to this show on UA-cam, and they have been forward and clear about that. (Although UA-cam does occasionally flag vids, it is easily contended). I recommend doing a react to the show. Many people would love to be part of the journey once again, and appreciate your first time reactions. I'm hoping ya take that journey, myan.. and I bet it would flood new subscribers.

RWBY is originally in english, it’s made by rooster teeth, and has a japanese dub instead.
If you're interested in watching the whole show, there's a few RWBY guides kicking around. I'll pop one link in the replyl to this comment (as links tend to get caught in the YT junk section). This guide is spoiler-free and is used by a number of reactors. You can react to the whole show without having to edit any parts out, there's a note about that at the end of the guide.

Not exactly the best thing to start off with. But still one of the best fight scenes in RWBY imo. As people have said before these are the original voices since it is American made so these are not dubbed. Hope you check out RWBY in order because like this fight scene it doesn’t make sense at all without context.
