This is such a beauty, and the mystery is so maddening - how could someone so talented disappear into the pages of time? I wonder if you could find a machinist/cycle guy who would love to tear it down and make engineering drawings, then sell the plan set as a museum fundraiser. The bike is more than a curio from the 'teens - a reproduction would be a valid roadworthy motorcycle for the roads today! Kit bike only, of course - I don't think it could pass smog! ;-) I wish I had the skill set - it would be heaven to be able to sit down with this bike and get into the mind of the Marvelous, Mysterious Mr. Traub! Thanks for the great videos, Matt. I love that you always make it about the bike, and not about you.

I'm honestly of the opinion that the Traub is a later bike than it is claimed tbh there is so much that seems like its based off something later plus there is so much tech on there that it was groundbreaking and I can't imagine an experimental machinist with a connection via family to a notorcycle manufacturer not having some of it enter the wider industry.
It is a gorgeous piece of engineering however and that is true if its a teens bike or a 30's or even later.
