between a STOCK MachZ 800 Polaris XCR800 and a T-cat 1000 whoever gets to 60 feet first will usually win unless its a 5 mile race, then the T-cat will reel anything in.
The ones that got that hole-shot usually won. The difference in power didn't matter after that lead. If the guy had a good top end motor ported a bit and the right pipes that 60 foot lead turned into a lot after 1 mile. The setup was everything though, some people had the right setup for the day and some didn't.
@@jamesquaife5633 Stock to stock the 93 T-cat is faster/ quicker and it uses less gas getting there then the 99-02 Tcats. I always thought the 98 1000 ran the best stock out of the box, it had the good cdi the good pipes and the best airbox.
I think you mean crossfire 1000 not firecat? Firecats had 13.5" wide tracks while crossfires had 15" x 136" tracks. For comp. stock Thundercat was 15"x121".
So does this firecat have the constantly crapped on diamond drive clutch? What is the verdict on those? I've seen some awful fast F7's with those units, ridiculous fast, from start to finish. Why they get such a bad rap?
fC and CFR all had DD after 2004 I believe. They got a bad rap from the early models having too small of bearings. If the fluid is changed regularly they have no downside.

The most I saw on GPS was 114 with this setup. The low revving 1000 was hard to get speed out of without super tall gears. I did regear later and got 131mph on GPS but it was boosted then.
@SnoPro No, he means changing the gearing in the case. We've done it many times, especially when getting a Mountain sled switched over for Trail riding.
Well...for starters, Arctic Cat never made a Firecat 1000? And if its an aftermarket build, or an engine swap, don't you think it should be titled accordingly?
Brian J yeah it's a 1000 crossfire in a Firecat chassis. Good guess! I think the title gave it away though. Do you have a sled? I think the green Thundercats were a limited / early build in 2002.
Yeah, I ride an '07 Mach Z X 1000. Tons of fun, goes like hell...but to be frank, with the winters we've been having the last couple of years, I think I'm going to put it up for sale and get into bikes instead.
All this arguing with video evidence. T-Cat lost. End of story. Whether he couldnt ride, wasnt tuned right or blew it up... he lost. Im a big time T-Cat fan, own a '98 model as well as 2 '96 ZRT 600's. These machines are gettin on a 1/4 century old and most that know how to work on em have moved on. Just like the muscle from the '60s cars.
Man I like the firecats, but the thunder cat was the badass sled of my day. Literally had no competition in the 90s, domination defined.

It’s all about traction :)
Finally a person who understands the physics of snowmobile... well said
And weight they are both 1000s but drop the weight of the hood belly pans and extra cylinder crank and piston it all adds up
It's not mistitled, if your talking about the 1000 FireCat. They are out there. Cus I own two of them
Does anyone make a kit for the motor mounts ,
Bullshit, there was never a firecat 1000 ever made factory. The only firecats that we're factory we're the F5, F6, and the F7.
This is a 1000 Crossfire twin in a Firecat Chassis.

nirvana896 it’s actually a Firecat with a crossfire 1000 in it. It has a turbo now too.
@@fowlerrudi1 Hey bud, got any video of that? I have the same sled and have been thinking of doing a fresh rebuild and turbo.

I prefer the DD over jackshaft for all of the reasons. Better back shift, lightweight. Doesn’t stop me from going 120+ on my CFR1K.

Didn't know they made a F1000 in 2004 ,F7 yes, but an F1000 was later (twin spar chassis) but I'm a Polaris guy so what do I know?
Hope u kno to get rid of that smoking, stinky, slow sled and get a Cat! Lol had to poke at ya, sry!
Only 20 comments cuz people know a 1000 double lunger can't hold the ball sweat of a 1000 triple in a true race.

Wow that firecat has some power !!!!!
Crossfire
Uh, which one is which?
Should of been the other way around lol something's wrooonnngg!!!
Nope. A firecat with the cfr 1000 has more power and wayyyy less weight. Also weight transfer is far superior.
Now move to Ice and give that triple some traction I bet the firecat will be 2nd all day long.
Nope. Been there, done that. CFR1K spanks triples.
How is it mititled brian.
My indy 500 fan cooled would waste both these sleds if they were out of gas.
Lmao yeah right
