My best friends brother is a state trooper. His first serious call was a man who was impailed by a snowmobile ski. The cheers when a sled is outta control in this makes me smile.
Foe those who have never been, there is no trickery in the camera. That hill is incredibly steep!
That's the slope underneath the snow king gondola, right? I've seen it from the bottom, but I've never gone down it.
Google earth says it's a ~ 33 degree slope near the top.
Yeah, that's about as steep as it gets for inbound runs.

The camera doesn't do justice to this hill & modern sleds are a lot more capable than they used to be. You don't stand at the bottom looking up for long before you have neck pain & have to watch it on the Jumbotron.
Damn wrecks are brutal every year!

feels like a Polaris commercial...show all other type of sleds crashing ...and most of the polaris completed runs~! priceless!! lmao
What you don't see behind the scenes is a factory team's worth of parts to keep the thing running for more than 1 climb...
Polaris owns Klim, and this is a Klim channel, so you're right it kind of feels like a commercial. However, I'll set that aside and let the final hill climb results do the talking. The top 3 final winning spots in every category: stock king, improved stock king, and mod king are all Polaris except for one Cat by Tapio racing. Many riders simply DNF, it's a crazy course. Ski-Doo however did have a large number of wins in the 600 class. IMO it's all about the rider skill and their sled setup. Put Curtis on a Doo and he'd probably dominate just the same.
So why can’t they rig up a braking system that activates when the tether gets pulled? Might help a bit when the track is locked up. Might make more rollovers maybe?

I traditionally don't trust Polaris big bores, but their chassis are the most agile. Mabey the 850 will hold up better than the 800. Time will tell.
