This is the method I use and believe to be the most efficient in terms of patch support, strength, and longevity. After a few mistakes in liner repairs, I am introducing you to a simple way to patch large holes.

Great video. Thanks for taking the time to make and share it. Do you use the Anderson LeakTrac 2400 to scan the pool liner for leaks?
No, I do not. I spend less time to dive and check the liner. Always want to check the whole pool regardless the indications of your device. It can always miss a hole but you need to be thorough! Are you dealing with many liner pools?

Great video! I have an old 2" tear with a 4" patch over it that's leaking a bit at one end. Do I need to remove the old patch before applying a new one? How well does duct tape work?
Hi John, I wouldn't recommend you to remove the old patch unless it detached from the liner. If it has a small opening you should just add a bigger patch over the old one. As for the duct tape is not for liner patches. You should only use clear or even better vinyl liner patch.

What about all of the water that was under the liner? Do you not have to do anything about that?

Tha k you so much! I appreciate it. The water will be drained by the ground. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do for the sand that has been washed out with the water in the pool. Only if you replace the liner can you add more sand. If the leak lasted for a long period of time and you can observe a dip after repair, you should add a second patch for extra support. Do you have an above ground pool?

Am going to attempt this in the bottom of a 10 foot deep end of an in ground pool. Scuba gear would be nice, but I’ll have to hold my breath while I’m down there, maybe even hold onto some weight to reduce my buoyancy 🤣

Hi, where can I find that tester that you are using?
Hi Louis, I actually start using a new tester. You can search on amazon for"DEPEPE 12pcs 12cc Disposable Graduated Curved Syringe Irrigation Syringe with Curved Tip" I found them really good for this purpose. Also, I buy the dye separately. And of course, you can find it as Green Tracing Dye - Highly Visible Concentrated Fluorescent Leak Detection Dye - 1 Gallon. One day I will create a video for my equipment. Did that help?

What adhesive do you use for the patch?
