Great video Marty. Your review has convinced me that this unit will work as a backup to my wood burning stove in my off-grid death nest. I've hesitated in the past in making a purchase as Chyna knockoffs often become landfill ornaments. Thanks for the detailed analysis.
Having one of those heater myself (5KW), I'm pretty sure that the exhaust must've melted a portion of that rubber of your garage door 🙂 They get really hot!!
Everyone and their mother have shown that these heaters work. What I am most others actually wonder is if they will heat a two-car garage to 10C on a -3C day. My search continues.
I have one, living in Ontario Canada, my garage is a car and a half. Insulated with concrete floor. After 3 hours on high I can still see my breath. It's warmer then outside but not amazing. Going to get a different heater to warm the garage and this too maintain the temp
I have a 1 1/2 car garage as well uninsulated block, -12c outside I got to 7 c took 4 hours and a lot of fuel, I'm looking for a used rv furnace or possibly two of these heaters, also in ontario
Great little heaters, I’ve worked with many Webasto and Espar heaters in commercial transport, try to avoid short cycling them by turning them on and off without much run time when you use it. The glow rod is shrouded from the combustion chamber by a stainless steel screen and over time the screen carbons up and you’ll need to disassemble it and clean or replace the screen…. You’ll know when it’s time due to no start problems and excessive smoke.
Great feedback. I'm always a bit reluctant to do product reviews without first using something for a long time. That's why I specifically labeled this video series as unboxing and testing. Long-term reviews are a totally different thing. Cheers.
Great video! At home i do the same using one of those amazon rectifier/voltage converters. Claims to be 30 amp also has an adjustable voltage regulator so i set mine believe it is 13.3 volt with no load and 13 volt with load, but really good demo on testing the start up amperage 👍 exhaust also can get crazy hot just a heads up
I've had one for about a year. While a good little unit, it's not enough BTUs to keep my double attached, fully insulated garage over 12 degrees Celsius on a cold Alberta day. My garage cement floor really holds the cold and this little heater takes quite awhile to raise the temp in the garage. I usually run my 80k kero jet heater for 5 mins first then use the vevor to try and maintain the temp. Overall a great little heater, but not enough to heat my little garage to tshirt temp if its minus 20c outside.
Thanks for the feedback. I agree that it's too small to maintain a constant temperature when it's -20C outside. I just want it to take the chill out of my shop a few times per winter, when I have to do some work in the shop.
@@Martyupnorth Yep. Right now its -2 outside and my garage was sitting at +5 when I came in this morning. Have had the heater on for hour and it has raised the temp to +9 (up 4 degrees). At least its alot cheaper to run then kerosene and being vented, doesnt stink up the garage.😁. If you have a way to partition your shop it helps. I have cup hooks across my garage ceiling evenly spaced so I can easily hang a tarp across the middle of my garage. If I want to do bench work I can hang it up and only heat the section I'm working in. Works in a pinch.
Hi Marty I bought one also Great little units! You sound Hollow may want to improve your sound by acquiring a external mike not sure what you use for recording!
They do work great I have on in my 12x16 shed / shop keeps it at +21c easily with an outside temperature of -30 on the medium setting the only setback it’s not thermostatically control other than that I’m OK with it 👍
The actual temp sensor is in the command module (the one with the screen) you can extend that , put longer wires and put it where you need to measure the temperature.Hope this helps.
There is NO timer feature. The app on the phone has a range of about 90'. You can set a reminder on your phone and turn it off manually. It will also run out of fuel anywhere between 6 and 30 hours, depending on the speed it's at. It shuts itself off when it runs out of fuel.

Thanks, Marty! I think this will do exactly what I need it for, this winter. Really appreciate this. Cheers!
Glad to help!
At least you got your 110 volt wires the correct way now 👍🏽

I think most seem to think this is made to heat a big workshop. They are made for a small work shed maybe 10'x14' space or maybe smaller.

How many Amp and Watt rectifier we need to run a 8 KW diesel heater ??
I just ordered one for my shop ITS 24x24 what size is your shop just to compare time to warm it up for keeping chill off.
Thanks for the review. Does the app control or monitor have a timer for shutting on/off? Where it could come on unsupervised?

So did it heat up your garage?
Thanks Marty
What would happen if you use gasoline instead of diesel?
Diesel and gasoline are two totally different fuels. You'll damage the burner if you fill it with gasoline.
I think you have a 5KW and not an 8KW, if the air output is 90mm its an 8KW heater. The 5KW has a 75mm air output.
Do this shut off automatic when out of fuel?
Yes it does.
